Chapter 146 The Overwhelming History
Chapter 146 The Overwhelming History
History?
Just what is history, back on the blue star some philosophers said history was a term that quantifies all events that have taken place in a particular period of time.
A book on the first emperor's journey before ascending the throne
A journal recording Christopher Columbus's path in discovering new content.
A book containing the events that occurred during the second world war
All these were examples of history being preserved by historians for future generations of the blue star to see and learn from.
However, unlike these which only contained small bits of history, the river before the goblin had records of everything that had happened in Elias to date
Just taking a quick glance at it, the goblin felt like his head was going to explode due to the sudden influx of information.
"Arghh!"
Holding his head with his two arms, the goblin screamed in pain as he struggled to get on his feet.
"Damn! I only expected such pain to happen if I encountered another taboo or anything."
"Why didn't my future self warn me that the last river would be so troublesome!'
Cursing his future self in anger, the goblins quickly removed his gaze as his mental state was on the brink of madness.
Hundreds of fragments containing bits and pieces of information from different time periods of Elias are currently displaying themselves in his head like a broken puzzle.
Unfortunately, no one was there in his mind to help him arrange it at the moment
Sprawling on the ground in pain, the goblin unknowingly passed out due to the pain.
...…
Fainting, the goblin found himself lost in a cluster of information.
He seemed to experience each of the memories one by one, so much so that he had begun to slowly lose himself, forgetting his original identity.
"Who am I ?"
"I am a goblin from the Kazakh tribe!'
"No, I am a guard who died protecting his tribe from invaders!"
"No, I am an elf who stayed in the forest all his life and died peacefully."
Like a sphsycozenic patient, even while fainted the goblin began to murmur heaps of gibberish as he tried to figure out his real identity.
Fortunately, he woke up before he could completely lose himself.
"Ack!"
"Cough cough!"
"Damn! That was close!"
Waking up in shock, the goblin looked at the river of history in fear.
Just now, he experienced his own memory fragment allowing him to realise the current situation he was in.
Thinking of Gods for his luck, the goblin shivered in fear as he stepped back making sure he was nowhere near the river of history
"Hahaha, who would have expected that the fiercest was not destiny, nor time, but history?"
Laughing at himself, the goblin swore to become more careful when approaching things next time.
Thankfully, now things had worked out for the best and he was still alive
"However, what now?"
? "Do I really follow my future self's advice and drink from them, or just ignore it?"
Looking at the three rivers, the goblin had a complicated expression on his face.
Who knows what would happen after drinking from them, if just taking a peek at the river of history could already put him in a near-death state.
The goblins couldn't imagine what would happen if he drank out of it.
However, considering that drinking the three might be his way out, the goblin unknowingly found himself in a tangled position.
"Sigh.. when is your future self when you need it."
"I could really you some information right now"
With an exasperated sigh, the goblin wished he could go back in time and ask his future self more questions.
Unfortunately, he couldn't as after that lady backlash, his future self seemed to be gone for good.
Now the time had passed, and with no reply from his future self all that remained were three rivers and a confused goblin
"Damn! It seems I have no choice!"
Unwillingly, after spending a few minutes in deep thought he soon found his choice.
Now his future self had disappeared, and he himself was just a weak and small goblin.
If he wanted to escape from here, there was no other choice than to obey his future self's orders.
Thinking of this, the goblin couldn't help but have a look of worry on his face.
"According to his future self, if he didn't drink a handful of each he would die. Nothing more nothing less."
"He also said If he didn't drink the three within an interval of thirty seconds each, he would die."
Remembering all these two rules, the goblin determinedly clenched his fists.
"You can do it, you're a great warrior from the Kazakh tribe"
"How could it be for someone of your calibre not to follow some simple guide rules."
Comforting himself, the goblin slowly began to edge back to the river of destiny deciding to start from there
Destiny!
Of all the rivers, in the goblin's opinion, only Destiny had a somewhat docile reaction to his appearance.
The others' time and history both had their own problems.
Time with its inexplicable backlashes and history almost turned his head into sludge for taking a slight peek.
Thinking of this, the goblin became more firm on his choice as destiny to start from.
Hopefully, maybe after drinking from destiny, it would protect him during the process of drinking from time.
And those two in turn would offer some sort of protection when he drank from history.
With this speculation in mind, the goblins' confidence in drinking it safely rose.
"Sigh here we go!"
"God's of Elias, since my future self said not to trust you, I'll stop praying to you"
"However, this time wish me luck."
Asking the Gods of Elias to grant him luck, his Future took a deep breath as it slowly knelt at the river's bank cupping his hands
"Three"
"Two"
"One"
On the last number, he quickly dropped his hands into the river taking out a handful of water.
