James stared at her pale face, and his eyes were wet. Finally, he
said, “You were the one who abandoned me.”
When Amelia heard this sentence, the doubts in her eyes
deepened, “When have I ever abandoned you?”
“Forget it. Since I can’t be cold heart to you, why should I blame
you…”
Then, he touched Amelia’s icy face and hugged her tightly into his
embrace.
“As long as you’re willing to return to me, that’s enough.”
Even if she hurt him like that three months ago, it didn’t matter if
she returned in the end.
After James convinced himself, he picked up Amelia who was
dazed, and returned to the car.
He ordered the driver to tune the heater to heat up the seat. Then,
he fetched a blanket and wrapped it around Amelia’s body.
He warmed his hands, grabbed her hands that were red from the
cold, and put them into his palms before continuously rubbing
them.
Amelia raised her suspicious eyes, staring blankly at James, who
treated her with different emotions. She couldn’t tell what he was
thinking.
She even felt that she was still in the dream that she couldn’t
come out, but the warmth brought by his hands was real.

“When you said I was with Aaron Johnson, did you think I was in a
relationship with him?”
