Chapter 278 - Hiro's Life
Chapter 278 - Hiro's Life
Hiro was the summoned man from the same world.
He and Kyoya shared the same origins and even though their summoning happened roughly at the same time, their destinies were different.
Kyoya's summoned purpose was to be Xaya's husband. She wanted a weak husband, but it was because of the events that happened before the summoning. Things got different because of Kyoya and he turned out to be an even better husband than she could've imagined.
One also could argue that Kyoya was exactly what Xaya's unconsciously wanted.
Of course, Kyoya became 'the husband' literally which was not something she had control over, but there was no marriage with only happy times. The most important was that the husband could turn worse times into happy times with the love blooming between them.
As for Hiro, he was summoned to help his summoner return to the 25th floor. Back then, Kyoya learned that this floor had Undead Monsters going around the kingdom which belonged to Hiro's summoner.
Hiro's power was light which was the best counter to any undead monsters!
"Husband, do you know him?"
"Ugh… You wanted to kill him… in the low world…"
"I don't remember."
Of course Xaya wouldn't remember this man. But Kyoya had a good memory and it was the man with similarities so Kyoya had no way of forgetting Hiro.
As he turned his eyes to him, Kyoya looked at the man clad in armor and sword fighting against the monster. Hiro was shining with light from top to bottom! It was not only his equipment, but also the sword that let out bright golden light.
The whole monster looked hard and tough, but it didn't feel like Hiro would die from it, so Kyoya decided to take things easy. First of all, he turned his eyes to Akaro and asked through the game system.
[Kyoya(A weirdo husbando): So what exactly is the light element? Is there God Of Light?]
The cat nodded to these words. This alone made things simpler, but Akaro also added an important note..
[Akaro(Goddess Fiana): God Of Light has a similar status to the god of death, but this man is not a believer of any of those. He is… similar to you.]
[Kyoya(A weirdo husbando): I understand.]
The husband understood that Hiro had a bright future from the summoning he went through. He just needed a helping hand, because two hundred years with such potential would place him higher than the 23rd floor.
That was why Kyoya decided to move forward and help him.
"Let's go all out on this monster!"
"Yes, the husband!"
"Okay!"
The husband's party help was sudden, but everyone including Hiro felt grateful for this. It was clear that Kyoya was here to help as their attacks didn't disturb Hiro's formation and allowed them to keep pressing while adding their own strength.
The whole monster became a victim and its roar continued to pierce until it became nothing more but just lifeless groan.
Soon, Kyoya and Hiro faced each other.
"You are… Kyoya. It's been a while…"
"Yes, it's been a while. I am glad you are okay. This world… is rough, right?"
"Right… But it must have been rough on you too. It's been more than two hundred years already…"
It was Kyoya's party time to be surprised. Everyone except Xaya and Akaro glanced at Kyoya with their wide eyes.
For a moment, it felt like everyone's blinking could be heard.
Maria was the first one to reach the husband with her trembling voice.
"You are an old man."
"I am not."
"Kyoya… Everyone ages slowly and the lifespan is longer, so you didn't have to hide it."
"I just didn't feel like mentioning it."
The whole situation became rather weird and Hana quickly poked the husband the most. He stood frozen and answered bluntly with one sentence. It was what she pointed out and the husband's eyes closed in silence.
"Look how awkward he feels."
"Alright, I will tell you later what happened."
Kyoya swept his arm behind like a wronged person, then erased all weird faces from his party members. He then asked Hiro about a less crowded place. Of course, this forest was filled with many roots and stuff, so Kyoya found it hard to summon his house here.
The other summoned man faintly smiled, "Follow me."
-
"I was really naive now that I remember our meeting clearly."
"I was also… different. The past is the past."
"No, you see. I thought that the 25th floor would be nothing to me, but this floor is too much for me. Things also changed and we needed to adapt and yet I remember talking about the top floor. I feel so stupid."
Hiro was a man who believed that he would be able to quickly sweep through the floors with his summoner by his side. His summoner also had a sister and all of them were in a good relationship. On his journey, Hiro also got another teammate which was a woman, so in a way, Hiro felt like the protagonist.
It was fine for him since he was from the world where magic was nothing more but written words.
"Rather than conquering worlds, which are floors, I am struggling against those and barely make any progress nowadays. If this world was similar to ours when it comes to lifespan, then I would be dead with regrets all over my bones."
"Don't be so harsh on yourself, man."
"Sorry, I had no one… that I could share it with…"
Kyoya felt like he was getting infected by Hiro's sulken mood. It was often hard to keep sad or any negative things to yourself, even more for all this time. Since they were roughly the same, Hiro opened himself, but maybe it was wrong of him.
"It's fine."
It was not wrong by any means nor Kyoya felt this way.
"It's also fine to dream big. Now that I am here, you can rely on me and I hope I can rely on you."
"This might be… impossible…"
Hiro looked at Kyoya who was about to take and share his card with narrowed, dejected eyes. A past that he had no way of forgetting just flooded his mind. Soon, he sighed and shared what happened on his long journey.
"I felt weak and wanted to join someone else's party with my family. It was long before I could step on the 25th floor, so you can tell how desperate I was… I wanted to fulfill my wife's wish and then slowly take steps up… I no longer dreamed of top."
"..."
"And so we joined a party. It was a party… of medium quality, I would say. They weren't a top party, but they had adventurers around sixty floors, so I felt happy. But it all turned out to be fake… People that I decided to trust turned out to be liars and… disgusting bastards that went for my wife when I was absent."
Kyoya clenched his fists unconsciously, his eyes wide and filled with shock.
"That's why it's hard for my family to join someone else… We were happy that you helped us, but a long term party might be unbearable for my wife."
"Hiro… Take this card."
"..."
"You can rely on me and the same goes for your wives. I am sure my party will also overwrite the wrong memories as we are one big family. It will be hard, but we earthlings should help each other."
Hiro bit his lip and took the card, not knowing what was about to happen. But he for sure felt relieved after speaking with Kyoya for just a little. As he took the card, the game quests and stats began to fill his eyes.
Then, the whole new world and clearer path opened before Hiro's eyes.
"This medium party…"
Kyoya asked.
"By what name those filths work?"
