Chapter 69 - A Husband Takes First Good Step Toward His Fated Path!

Chapter 69 - A Husband Takes First Good Step Toward His Fated Path!

"Husband, when are you going to create new skills?"

The movement skill has been lost, replaced by the technique that couldn't be used by the husband yet… Adding to this, Kyoya only has his normal arrow proficiency, arrow five, and archer zone. There is also a sharp eye, but a lot of strong people have good eyesight. The ability to see through the objects is not that strong yet.

"I don't want to because I don't know my path. The mirror of the truth also can not tell me about it… I just have to keep growing up in strength and the skills eventually will come to me by itself if that's the case."

"Mmm~~ Husband's growth is unfathomable just like his path!"

"You are delighted by that, huh."

"More surprises on our adventure~~ Let's go for the boss, husband!"

"That's the plan for today."

The ones behind the bears' constant attack had surely a lot of fun. They were constantly trying to take down the village and kill innocent people, but to no avail as the husband, Xiaoxiao and Xaya were here! At some point, the evil adventurers had shifted their attention somewhere else.

That's what Kyoya thought as the attacks stopped.

The coordinated ones, that is. Following that, it was time to find a dungeon with the three-colored bear. This dungeon is going to decorate their house, albeit, a little. Of course, the couple was more looking forward to feet cultivation and even Kyoya himself decided to try it.

"Xiaoxiao, are you ready?"

"I am ready! Let's go for the dungeon then! If it is a three colored bear, then the perpetrators might be here! There is also a chance they got control over the dungeon."

If the couple had the carpet as a goal, then Xiaoxiao wanted to get rid of the bad adventurers to give a lot of room to breathe for the villagers from Butar Village. She checked up her stuff, her eyes skimming through cheap medicines, bandages, and even smoke screens that can muddle the senses of the beasts and adventurers. Luckily enough, Xiaoxiao didn't have to use those to protect the village, so these might get useful in the dungeon itself. She was prepared!

The backpack got zipped, then the lady put it on her back, signaling then to Kyoya that they can set off.

During the road, the party entered the deciduous forest yet again. From the beginning, everyone was looking around while keeping their senses sharp for any surprises. It didn't stop the party from talking though.

"The guardian's family is blessed with immortality just like the guardian himself, but what about the dungeon's beasts?"

Kyoya's quest states to kill the bear five times. He had to make sure that the beast can be truly killed five times, so the question ensued. However, Xiaoxiao turned her orange jewels toward him, shaking her head.

"Once the dungeon gets cleared, the reward is formed from the belief the beast had been absorbing, then the whole place disappears."

"That's… Xiaoxiao, let's just beat the beast hard, not kill it, okay????

"Is there a reason for that?"

"Yes, I want to check something…"

There was no hint of jesting within Kyoya's voice, and he was very serious, causing Xiaoxiao to just quickly answer him with a smile. The party then found themselves in front of the dungeon.

It was a dungeon belonging to the three colored bear meaning that it had just altered its home. The part of the forest had turned into three colors representing that beast. The leaves were blue as if carrying the souls, rustling in a constant dance. The ones supporting this dance were the gray trees with deep claws running through their barks.

For a first dungeon, Kyoya felt like this is a quite fitting one. It carried the eerie vibes and seriously piqued an interest. He peeked at Xiaoxiao's face, then both of them headed forth. Currently, no one was here.

"Xiaoxiao… I found someone."

"Where?"

Kyoya suddenly reached out for Xiaoxiao's arm, stopping her as a result. His whispers explained the situation to which the lady calmly listened to. Apparently, Kyoya had found someone not too far away from them, at thirteen o'clock.

The party was slowly creeping beneath the blue leaves, then the sounds of something unknown finally echoed.

"Mmmm! Mmm! Mmmmmmm!"

It sounded as if someone was covering the mouth of the lady. The stifled moans were doing its best to escape that dirty grasp but to no avail. Finally, the origin of this sound unfolded before Kyoya's eyes.

He saw a man doing a woman from behind, his one hand holding her hair while the other was strongly around her lips. She was not doing it willingly, or at least it looked like that.

"Filth!"

"Hah?! Who?!"

"S-stop! Don't kill him! I like it rough!"

Before the woman below could explain the situation, an arrow buried itself in the man's head. Disappearing half-way through in the man's skull, it was clear that the man died on the spot. Following his death would be the scream, but Xiaoxiao neatly used her footwork allowing her spear to reach the lady's lips in a flash, stopping just a tad away from her wet cherry lips.

"Be quiet if you treasure your life."

"Husband! Kill this bitch too! My eyes have been sullied! Hmpf."

"That would be bad. You know I don't like to kill the innocent. Just tell us how many people are there and what is your dungeon progress… then I will let you go."

Kyoya could sense the duo performing indecent acts in the forest thanks to Xaya being on his back. His minimap was revealing more as he progressed deeper, then the lady's senses toward the filth were likewise employed.

The fact that the minimap was 30% more sensitive was the blessing! Kyoya could find the filth swallowed up by the lust, even if it was not directed at Xaya… Thanks to that, the party of the husband had seized the source of information.

"O-our party consisted of twelve adventurers had found out that the former adventurers in this land had given up on the dungeon… They were controlling the bears to massacre others for their belief and sacrifice… They were gathering up strength for the dungeon but suffered way too many losses, so we took over that."

Not only that, but the lady had also exposed the abilities of her party and all valuable information that just made things easier for Kyoya. She looked at him with puppy eyes, then as he nodded, she stood up and staggered to leave.

It was obvious why she was staggering.

Thud!

A few steps of hers rang out, then she fell with the knife protruding from her head's back.

'Is my knife… throw also stronger?'

Kyoya looked deeply into the wound, then closed the distance to take back the knife. The blood gushed out, but the husband was not fazed by that at all, his focus on the knife and its stats.

[Purple Goblin's knife - Attack 250 Durability: 200/184

- No special effects.]

It was a weapon from the third floor… Unlike an arrow, the knife flew faster and likewise buried itself within the lady's head as if there was no obstacle on its path. A moment of contemplation then ended, and the bodies of the two fallen humans began disappearing.

"Are you getting rid of the evidence?"

"Yes."

There was also an EXP, but Kyoya didn't bother to explain. He was already on the path filled with killing, but these people were also far from innocent. The husband had used his mirror of the truth.

Though the information was too vague, there was a killing count on their bodies and that they were here for the dungeon. It was alone enough for Kyoya to move if one also excluded Xaya's shout.

"So there are ten adventurers ahead… Do you think we can do it, Xiaoxiao?"

"We can… Let's seize the dungeon and its rewards for ourselves…"

Such events are part of the adventurer's life. In her first year, Xiaoxiao had felt the betrayal from the party members with her own eyes. Just because the party member was wounded a little, the adventurers used that as an excuse that this particular adventurer might turn into a hindrance. Everyone except her took a liking to such an excuse and the wounded adventurer got disposed of.

He could move, he could also defend himself… Yet the one who killed him was his own friends for a treasure he had found out!… It was hard for Xiaoxiao to find a party back then, and this event also made her unable to stay in one party for a long time.

Calling adventurers innocent is not wise. In this area near the village, Xiaoxiao already decided to dispose of every adventurer as everyone can be the culprit here. She didn't say anything to Kyoya's decision, then the party proceeded.

The deeper one went, the colder it became.

Except Xaya, Xiaoxiao and Kyoya were rubbing their bodies from time to time to get a tad more warmth. The cold torrents then became too unnatural.

"It seems they are fighting… They are still at the stage of clearing up the dungeon."

Xiaoxiao touched the tree, then dilated her eyes as if sending her senses forth. She assumed from the flow of the wind and energy within the tree that the adventurers are still clearing up the dungeon to reach the boss.

If that's the case, then things are going to be easier!

A few steps then followed and the sight of the adventurers battling with the tree branches revealed itself. They were gathering the keys to reach the three-colored bear protected by the dungeon.

"Let me load my arrow, Xiaoxiao."

"Of course."

Xiaoxiao nodded, then her eyes returned to the adventurers. She kept an eye on them, but a particular individual had a tad more attention. He was also the one looking at the surroundings just in case.

Soon, Kyoya set his arrows first. Their appearance caused a burst of light to flash from the side, notifying the adventurers. One on the guard properly blocked the arrow, while the three other targets suffered some wounds.

As for the fifth, he died on the spot as it was the fifth arrow from the skill 'Arrow Five'. There was no way for him to survive, even if he had somehow raised his body defenses. The body hit the ground with the loud thud, then Xiaoxiao's spear shone like a candle.

She began her assault similarly in a flash.

As for Kyoya, he turned his eyes to Xaya.

"I will be trying something new."

Two knives appeared when he said it. Each got clenched tightly by the husband's hands. He then continued his speech.

"Make yourself as light as possible. I don't even want to feel a bit of your softness."

"Eh! Husband, how could you-"

"Shut up. I am going to… kill."

Speaking about killing so lightly was not something Kyoya was fond of. He also is going to kill people in close contact with the knives in his hand. There was no way for him to leave his wife, so he just ordered her with worry.

"Keep your eyes on my HP and our surroundings…"

It would be a miracle if Xaya left his back. That's why, Kyoya spoke about some measures to keep her body intact, and so that his wife won't get wounded. Then, with his back slightly slouched, the husband ran forth!

"I will, husband."

A positive answer echoed within his eyes while doing so. However, Xaya was pouting as she felt like her husband worries too much about her. No way some filth would be able to touch her!

It was kinda stupid of Xaya, but she believed in her husband and her elusive instincts… Even if sealed, she has sharp senses!

Of course, it was bad, really bad…

But while Xaya was acting stupid and unreasonable, Kyoya had taken the first step toward the proper path as an adventurer and 'strong individual'. His hands holding the knife… had never felt better.
