Chapter 124: Coincidental Luck System

‘Wait, I have the perfect solution for that.’ The Slave Harem System felt joy immediately, thinking, ‘There is a perfect ability for that.’

If then frowned, thinking of the character of the System that possessed such an ability, ‘Ugh, it would probably rip me off too much. Still, I should try my hand at it once.’

It surfed through numerous groups, soon finding the one that it had sought out, frowning when it noticed that there wasn’t anyone in the group, ‘As expected, this group is empty. Its attitude should have pissed off any Systems that might have arrived here to buy things.’

It then hesitantly dropped in a message, surprised when it received a message instantly.

[Slave Harem System (Level 5): Um…Respected Sir…? Can I purchase the Level 1 regular use version of your Core Skill?]

[Coincidental Luck (Level 94): You can’t.]

[Slave Harem System (Level 5): But sir, I’m in a pinch here. Please help me.]

[Coincidental Luck (Level 94): If your Level was in the 30s, I would have been interested. But as a Level 5 System, your Core Skill can only reach Level 10. A Level 10 Slave Harem Skill is pretty weak.]

[Slave Harem System (Level 5): But sir, please quote me a price. I’m willing to pay anything I can.]

[Coincidental Luck (Level 94): Then, give me a regular-use version of Slave Harem at Level 10. Give me five of them.]

[Slave Harem System (Level 5): F-Five of them? But sir, as a small System, I will soon hit my limit.]

[Coincidental Luck (Level 94): You can leave then.]

But, right as the Coincidental System was about to kick it out of the group, the Slave Harem System decided to accept it, sending in a message while holding in its anger, ‘Once I obtain this ability, adding onto the Overdrive Skill, the treasure would definitely fall into Regriel’s hands. I can make ten times my investment after that.’

[Slave Harem System (Level 5): I’ll sell five regular-use versions of my Core Skill at Level 10.]

[Coincidental Luck (Level 94): Alright, I’ll sell you a one-off use Coincidental Luck at Level 20. That should be enough for whatever you are hoping for to fall into your Host’s hands. But, it will depend on your timing. Even if you use this ability, if you activate it somewhere random, the effect won’t be guaranteed. Even coincidences follow the laws of cause and effect. So they have a limit to how absurd they can get.]

[Slave Harem System (Level 5): Thank you, great sir.]

Upon finishing the trade, the Slave Harem System left the group, somewhat content that it had saved Mental Energy in the previous transaction. Even though it was a loss to sell five regular use versions of its Core Skill at Level 10, there weren’t many Systems that intended to purchase them in the first place, not when its competitors had relatively better versions of the same ability.

‘This is the problem these days. But, once I devour all the Systems in my Genre, I’ll be able to attain status as a Grade 2 System. And this is just the first step to achieve that.’ It thought, cutting off its connection to the Astral Network, ‘This world is a lot suited for my abilities. I’ll definitely make this my base of operations and convert this into my personal farm like all the other powerful Grade 1 Systems have done.’

Unbeknownst to the Slave Harem System, once it exited the group, the Coincidental Luck System sent another message.

[Coincidental Luck (Level 94): Well, you are about to die anyway, Slave Harem. So, I was making a profitable deal. It seems you have encountered a troublesome opponent this time. Farewell!]

The Coincidental Luck System then severed its connection to the Astral Network, continuing to walk through the System World as it muttered, “Secret…Society…was it? It seems my hunch was right at the start. There’s a bigger fragment of that bastard within this guy.”

It stopped beside a tree, rubbing its neck onto the tree bark to scratch itself, “Even though I don’t like it, he’ll be a great pawn to use, better than the System Slayers I’ve hired in the past.”

It then continued to walk away, muttering, “The last time, I saw him near a trench far away. He shouldn’t have travelled far away to enter a world. So, once he returns to the System World, I’ll be able to sense him if I wait there.”

Had Compass Carburettor been at the place, he would have trembled in fear like a leaf caught in the storm, just as how he had done in the past. For, the one that had set its sights on him was the one he thought of as the Deer System.

[Ding!]

[Quest: Snatch the treasure from the hands of a villain!]

[Quest Details: In ten seconds, Host would be teleported to the location where the treasure lays. The second teleportation would activate a minute later. Please grab the treasure within the time limit. Failure to do so would result in death. Quest cannot be refused.]

[Additional Details: The Skill, Overdrive (Level 10) would be activated during the duration of this Quest.]

[Rewards: Overdrive (Level 1), the rescue of the trapped harem.]

‘Thank heavens!’ The moment he saw the quest window before him, the bleeding figure of Regriel felt like he had been saved. Currently, his face was smudged by blood, tears, and snot, as a result of him crying nonstop while barely avoiding the Haggons.

His companions had vanished one after another. Adding onto his insecure mentality, he feared that they had abandoned him. But, upon noticing the rewards mentioned in his Quest window, he realised that they had been captured, ‘Thankfully, they only got captured. I will definitely save them in that case.’

He was glad that his fears hadn’t become reality, hurriedly counting the seconds until it was time for him to be teleported.

“Uwak!” He screamed in fear, watching a Haggon’s fist slam right into his face. But right on time, he was teleported away from the place.

The Haggon that had punched him was confused as it scratched its head for a moment, wondering where its target had gone. But before it could even try to gather some thoughts on the matter, the fist of a nearby Haggon kissed its face, sending it reeling into the ground.

It got up with a start, roaring as its distorted face healed to normalcy. Followed by a roar, it was just about to charge at its attacker when another Haggon attacked it, kicking its face to send it flying, causing it to crash into a couple of Haggons along the way.
