Chapter 367: Insert Extra World Lore Here
Ruon City, at a secluded corner of the city, a massive construct appeared all of a sudden, shocking everyone in the place.
The experts of the city were alarmed at the suffocating aura that emanated from the location for an instant before vanishing.
Those at the Martial Providence Stage instantly turned into their Martial Spirits and rushed towards the location, stopping as they were startled, gazing at the structure that had appeared.
It had a pearl-like texture and colour on its cylindrical structure that spanned a height of fifty metres and a radius of twenty metres. There was an entrance to it that had opened.
The first to arrive was an old man wearing a straw hat, frowning as he noticed some bloody footprints at the entrance, “What the heck happened here?”
“Sect Master! Are you alright?” Soon after, members of his Sect arrived at the scene, stunned upon seeing the unnerving structure.
There was a pristine sense of beauty to the structure. But currently, it also emanated the sensation that it had been through countless battles and had sustained enough damage over time that it was unable to maintain itself any longer.
“Let’s check it out!” The old man wearing a straw hat, the Sect Master of the Fire Bat Sect said, nodding at the Martial Providence Stage cultivators that had landed next to him.
“It’ll be risky, so be careful.” The Fire Bat Sect Master said as they noticed the bloodstains at the entrance, “The related parties that caused this must be nearby. So, guard the perimeter and don’t let anyone nearby.”
After giving instructions, the Fire Bat Sect Master was the first to enter the building, stumped when he noticed a massive statue of Apocalypse Pearl standing before them.
It only spanned a height of six metres, something that wasn’t that big, considering the size they would attain after transforming into their Martial Spirits.
But, this was the first thought that resounded in the minds of everyone that gazed at the statue.
Massive!
The statue resembled a Haggon. And due to how Compass Carburettor had created it, it also contained some of the Haggon’s suffocating presence.
The Fire Bat Sect Master looked around, noticing murals forming the interior walls of the cylindrical building that only consisted of one floor. The murals formed rings, with each spanning a height of five metres.
The Fire Bat Sect Master gazed at the mural closest to him, shuddering in fear for some reason as he hurriedly backed away, noticing his skin peeling the moment he approached the mural, “What the heck is this?”
He hurriedly took out a pill and swallowed it, watching his injuries slowly recover. His back was drenched with cold sweat as he gazed at the mural.
The one depicted on it was a woman, sporting a malevolent expression as her eyes radiated a mysterious hue.
Anger! Disdain! Destruction! Avarice!
Those were the emotions expressed by them. She wore a battle armour that was drenched by the blood of victims as littered on the ground around her were skulls of humans and Origin Beasts. Rather, she was standing on a pile of them.
And, held in her right hand was a human skull filled with blood that she had raised high up in the air, pouring the contents into her mouth that she had opened like a snake.
Her other hand was strangling the neck of a man like he was made of paper. It seemed like his vitality had been sucked out as his skin resembled the bark of a tree that had become infested with termites.
There was an expression of absolute terror on his face as his eyes showed a lack of soul.
The Fire Bat Sect Master then gazed at the row of words engraved underneath her, “Straxia—Soul Rendering Evil Spirit!”
There was a row of words engraved further below, tiny in font, stating, “An Evil Spirit that had devoured all life in thirteen Realms. An immortal being that could never be killed and one whose thirst for blood could never be satiated. Possessing the Evil Martial Spirit of Lightning Lemur, her attacks are violent and overbearing. Flee on sight!”
“Evil Spirit? What’s that?” One of the Martial Providence stage cultivators frowned. He didn’t dare approach the murals, witnessing what had happened to the Fire Bat Sect Master once he had done so.
All the experts were similar, only standing at the centre of the building as they looked around at the murals.
“Wait, there’s someone here.” The Fire Bat Sect Master suddenly proclaimed as he noticed traces of blood behind the Haggon Statue.
As it had been on the rear end of the building, they had only been able to gaze at its front, failing to notice its back until now.
As the Fire Bat Sect Master gazed in the direction, he noticed a pool of blood had formed there. Nodding in response to a Martial Providence Stage cultivator that he trusted, the two of them slowly approached the Haggon’s side, peeking over before hurrying back in alarm, “Heuk!”
Upon seeing such a high-pitched screech from the two experts, everyone else turned alert instantly.
“Sect Master! What happened?”
“Shit…fuck!” The Fire Bat Sect Master pinched his nose, only now noticing the pungent stench that was emanating from the place.
There were two figures there, a male and a female, each that could easily be announced as the definition of beauty, grace, and power. But now, no such qualities could be seen in them.
Their entrails were strewn around, as the intestines of the man had even been made to form ribbon knots. He lacked a lower jaw, with the severed part held in his hand.
One of his eyes had been gouged out and crushed, with the remains beside him. There were violent scratch marks all over his body.
And for some body parts, it seemed like they had been disintegrated, leaving behind no traces. It was a scary sensation to see there being no traces of a body part’s existence, despite all musculature of the body pointing out the fact that it should have existed there.
The woman’s body was in a similar state as parts of her internal organs were missing. There was an expression of regret on her face while the man’s sported helplessness.
There was neither anger nor despair on his face. Just helplessness.
“Wait, his gaze…” The Fire Bat Sect Master uttered all of a sudden, pointing at the back of the Haggon, “It’s pointing at one of the horns on this creature’s back.”
