Chapter 382: Churning Waves of the Scheme
“Everyone, welcome to our Grand Auction House!” The host of the auction announced with great enthusiasm as people of power from various cities, Clans, and Sects had taken a seat.
Old Zen gazed at the scene with great enthusiasm, ‘This is the highest number of powerhouses that had ever attended an auction. This unprecedented record would soon elevate my Auction House to number 1 in the Gaider Realm.’
Thinking as such, he felt excitement, clenching his hand into a fist, ‘And everything’s thanks to Lord Gahrat.’
“My Lord…” Suddenly, one of his servants arrived, bringing a scroll with him, “There’s something you must know. This scroll is being circulated to every one of power in our city and other cities too.”
“Can this wait until the auction ends?” Old Zen frowned subtly, noticing the eyes of a few powerhouses falling on him.
As the owner of this auction house, he was seated in the front seat, displaying that he’ll ensure the auction remains fair. He had to do everything in his power to ensure this auction was a success.
Moreover, the reason he was seated closest to the stage was to intercept anyone that tries to steal the Unbreakable Etherite when it is brought over.
Even though he wasn’t the strongest in the Martial Providence Stage, he still exercised considerable power. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be possible for him to own the sole auction house in Gaoan City.
“Old Zen, you received this scroll too?” The Giant Whale Sect Master said.
“Yes, Sect Leader.” Old Zen cupped his fists, “I’m still unsure as to what it is. I hope Sect Leader shines light on me.”
“I haven’t seen it myself either.” The Giant Whale Sect Master said, “All of us received it just now. It seems those from Ruon City are aware of the contents, considering they are the ones sending copies of it everywhere.”
“Then, please excuse me as I open it.” Old Zen said as he opened the scroll, gazing at the picture that showed two corpses. He frowned, wondering why such an image was shown when he noticed some familiar traces in the facial features of the man before shouting uncontrollably, “Ahhhh!”
“What happened?” The Giant Whale Sect Master rushed to him, watching Old Zen mutter uncomprehendingly as his face turned pale, gazing at the scroll while muttering like a broken record, “Impossible! Impossible! Impossible!”
“T-This…!” The Giant Whale Sect Master too recognised the corpse, stating in alarm, “This…how? How was he killed?”
“Giant Whale Sect Master, do you know this person?” The Fire Bat Sect Master arrived at the scene, intending to investigate upon seeing that both Old Zen and the Giant Whale Sect Master seemed to know the individual in the scroll.
“He’s Lord Gahrat.” The Giant Whale Sect Master said, “We’re unsure of his origin. He’s a mysterious guy that you’ll assume is only a mortal when you probe his strength. But he should be stronger than me. That’s the impression I got when I met him.”
“Stronger than you?” The Fire Bat Sect Master nodded in thought, also gasps from many others in the auction house.
All the experts from Gaoan City had seen Compass Carburettor, so they recognised the picture. And their conversations all stated the same thing.
They were unable to gauge the extent of Lord Gahrat’s strength.
“What does this mean, Fire Bat Sect Master?” The Giant Whale Sect Master asked, “If this is a prank, please tell us in advance. I cannot imagine Lord Gahrat dying.”
“There’s proof in Ruon City. You’re free to investigate it yourself whenever you wish.” The Fire Bat Sect Master said, “All the experts in Ruon City know about this. And the presence we felt at that moment was beyond what those at the Martial Providence Stage could emit.”
“Is there a stage beyond us?” The Giant Whale Sect Master frowned before gazing at the figure of Grisha in the scroll, “By the way, who’s this lady?”
“She was with Lord Gahrat…” After some time passed, Old Zen said weakly, dispirited, looking like he had aged a decade, “I’m not sure how, but she arrived and disappeared from his side all along, and it didn’t feel like she used a Spatial Martial Spirit. Moreover, Lord Gahrat possesses multiple Martial Spirits.”
“That’s what I felt when I see him display countless powers…” Old Zen spoke.
“Multiple Martial Spirits?” The Fire Bat Sect Master asked hurriedly, “Did he tell anything else? It seems you’re the one who had the most contact with Lord Gahrat. Please tell me anything you recall.”
“A jet-black entity that resembles the night sky, a power resembling the pearls, a power that can disintegrate everything in his vicinity, and the power to appear and vanish mysteriously. These were what I witnessed him using.” Old Zen sighed before gazing at the Fire Bat Sect Master, “The main auction piece for today, the Unbreakable Etherite was something Lord Gahrat entrusted to me to sell.”
“Unbreakable Etherite was entrusted by Lord Gahrat?” The people exclaimed as immediately, there was fervour in the air.
Everyone began to read the scroll, understanding the gist of things written on it. The scroll had a pretty long roll, written with all the details the Fire Bast Sect Leader had investigated and found out.
So, it gave them a clear idea of what had happened, causing them to be terrified.
“Wait, his son!” Suddenly, Old Zen shouted in alarm before abruptly calming down, recalling everything that he had shared with Compass Carburettor, “I see, so you were expecting your death, Lord Gahrat.”
As the powerhouses gazed at him, Old Zen said, “The final conversation I had with Lord Gahrat was of him talking about his son. It seems his son is in the Gaider Realm, but he never told me where.”
“The only clue I have is that they look somewhat similar.”
“I see,” The Giant Whale Sect Master nodded, patting Old Zen’s shoulder, “We’ll discuss this later. Let’s proceed with the auction.”
‘If this Unbreakable Etherite is his final legacy, then I’ll be the one to obtain it. Only Xuer, with her Heaven Martial Spirit, is worthy of fusing with this material.’ Thinking as such, he nodded at his Sect Members, preparing enough wealth to outclass everyone else, “Let the auction proceed.”
