Chapter 397: Successive Breakthroughs

Martial Providence Stage!

Illeto teared up in response, gazing at the majestic Kirin Martial Spirit before him that had doubled in size, big enough to reach the ceiling.

He was elated that his wife had survived, elated that she reached the Martial Providence Stage, and elated that finally, after so many decades, their Clan gave rise to another powerhouse.

“Dear, are you alright?” He asked her in concern, noticing that Mella was still in her Kirin Martial Spirit form.

She nodded in response to his question, not doing anything else, closing her eyes as she began to meditate.

“She has just finished her breakthrough and has yet to adjust her Origin Essence. Currently, she’s in the Quasi Martial Providence Stage.” Into said, “Only after she stabilises her cultivation and can take on the human form is when she’ll reach First Layer of the Martial Providence Stage and could be genuinely addressed as a powerhouse.”

“Brother, how long would this take?” Illeto asked.

“From a couple of hours to a few days.” Into said, “It shouldn’t take that long for her since she obtained enlightenment prior to her breakthrough.”

Upon saying that, he gazed at Compass Carburettor, performing a solemn bow, “You have my, and my Clan’s gratitude, Doctor Hazen. You’ve really helped my Clan a lot.”

“It’s fine,” Compass Carburettor smiled in response, “This is a great occasion. So let’s not dull it with formalities.”

“Haha, I’ll do as you say.” Into laughed, cupping his fists in response as he nodded at Inpah and Illeto, stating, “Please oversee me too, doctor.”

“This…” Even Compass Carburettor was stunned at Into’s actions. After all, instead of attempting to breakthrough in the perfect environment build especially for this in his Clan, Into had instead chosen this guest room which wasn’t even the least accommodating for a breakthrough.

‘I guess Mella’s successful breakthrough gave him another boost of confidence. So, he feels this place is lucky for him. I see…’ Compass Carburettor nodded in realisation, connecting with Into’s mind, ‘Right, this is another factor that I have to consider.’

Belief!

‘If the belief is strong enough, there’s a chance to emerge victorious even in an impossible situation.’ He too obtained great insight from this event as Compass Carburettor came to understand one of the vital factors necessary for harnessing the power of Luck. It was the power of belief.

After all, human beings weren’t calculated creatures working within set boundaries. There were times when they were able to erupt with potential beyond what they were biologically and logically capable of. That innate uncertainty was what determined a human’s potential.

And that was a necessity to harness Luck, causing him to understand just why Rhizen was so damn good.

It was because he was always of the belief that he was right.

And this belief wasn’t something that stemmed from arrogance or ignorance, but a concrete fact he was assured of. After all, to bolster his belief in himself, he used his mind, creating schemes that further elevated his position, always ensuring all the variables at play were in his favour.

This way, even when something happened, it worked in his favour. He was the type of individual that would survive and dominate even without the aid of luck.

Now that he obtained some more understanding, Compass Carburettor realised just how terrifying Rhizen was, ‘Indeed, he’s someone worthy for a horde of Systems to target and fail a lot of times despite that.’

Unsurprisingly, Into also completed his breakthrough. Though, he had to consume a Providence Pill to aid him. But despite that, the final result of his Kirin Martial Spirit seemed weaker than Mella’s.

Following him were Inpah and Illeto. They had been preparing solely for this for the past three years. And thanks to him, they obtained a significant boost.

Moreover, Compass Carburettor was constantly aiding them through the Mind Connect, helping them whenever they proved lacking. Thanks to that, it would be odd if they failed their breakthrough.

As for the payment regarding this help, Compass Carburettor had already received it, obtaining valuable data and reference material regarding breakthrough to the Martial Providence Stage.

But now, a strange thing had happened. There were four massive Kirin Martial Spirits within the guest room, causing the place to feel cramped.

Slowly, after some time had passed, Mella opened her eyes, moving her mouth to speak, “Doctor Hazen, I’m sorry, but can you fetch a pair of clothes for me? I’ve finished consolidating my cultivation.”

“There should be some nurse outfits lying around. Let me fetch them.” Compass Carburettor said in response, exiting the guest room as he entered a storage room, fetched a nurse’s outfit and returned, giving it to Mella.

“Turn around, the lot of you,” Mella said as the other three Kirin Martial Spirits awkwardly adjusted their bodies, slowly turning in the cramped space.

Mella immediately switched back to her human form, wearing the nurse outfit as she muttered, “Hmm, this design is pretty great.”

She then cupped her fists to him, “Thank you, Doctor Hazen. I feel like I’ve become stronger than regular powerhouses now.”

In the Gaider Realm, those at the Martial Origin Stage were typically addressed as experts while those at the Martial Providence Stage were addressed as powerhouses.

“It’s fine.” Compass Carburettor smiled as he turned around, staring blankly for a moment as he took in her appearance, thinking, ‘I must make Grisha wear a nurse outfit one of these days.’

“I feel like I’ve grown a tad younger now,” Mella said, gazing at her reflection in the nearby mirror. Of course, thanks to the Kirin Martial Spirit’s attribute, she already looked young enough as is, so there wasn’t an obvious difference.

But, she had grown damn strong, in her prime now.

“With this, the Opposition Clan would be returning to its golden age once again.” Compass Carburettor said, congratulating the quartet. After all, four successive breakthroughs to the Martial Providence Stage was no simple feat.

Of course, he didn’t mention his involvement in subtly helping the trio of brothers during their breakthrough when they were on the verge of failing.

“Indeed.” Mella grinned in joy, “Adding on our previous Clan Head, we have five powerhouses now.”

“After a decade, the Occasion Clan would be nothing before us.”
