Chapter 335
Since when did their situation begin to change?
The selfish Sheng Man never thought that what she once had was a life that she didn’t deserve.
Sheng Lian and his family tried their best to exchange their crimes for the glory and wealth that did not belong to them. That was why there would come a day where they would lose everything they owned.
Nie Jiqing sent someone to investigate whether or not Sheng Luo was still alive. The moment he received any sort of news about her, he was to notify her immediately.
Nie Jiqing came into Sheng Luo’s room. She kept Sheng Luo’s room as it was and had people come to clean it every day.
As soon as Nie Jiqing walked into the room, emotions of sorrow and grief surged again. She walked to the table and opened the drawer, which contained a photo album inside.
Nie Jiqing opened the album and unfolded it. There were many photos of Sheng Luo in it.
Nie Jiqing carefully stroked a finger across each photo. Her movements were extremely light, portraying her care and eagerness to cherish the pictures; but her actions were also too cautious, for fear that they might break with a touch.
Nie Jiqing had a strong intuition that Sheng Luo was very likely still alive.
Nie Jiqing picked up one of the photos as she looked at it without blinking. Her eyes were a little dazed, “Luoluo, don’t worry, I will bring you home immediately.”
At this time, Nie Jiqing’s cell phone rang. She picked up the call and asked eagerly, “Has my daughter’s whereabouts been found?”
The man said, “Your daughter was indeed abducted and sold to a village by Liu Cang, but…”
Nie Jiqing grabbed her chest as she felt her heart constrict, “But what?”
Man, “The village had a landslide that year and Sheng Luo died in that accident…”
Upon hearing this, Nie Jiqing’s heart fell heavily. Her hand loosened its grip and the photo in her hand fell to the ground, staggering like a butterfly made out of paper.
Nie Jiqing murmured, “I don’t believe it…”
The investigation must be wrong; Luoluo isn’t dead.
Nie Jiqing walked out directly. Her pace was too quick as she suddenly felt dizzy in her head. When she tilted her body, she was about to fall to the ground.
Zhao Ma held Nie Jiqing and asked worriedly, “Madam, are you alright?”
Nie Jiqing’s face was even paler than a sheet of paper now. Her voice was almost inaudible, but her tone remained very firm, “I don’t believe that she is dead, I’m going to find her…”
As the car drove forward, Nie Jiqing held the photo tightly along the way. She murmured, “Luoluo, I will definitely find you.”
The village was located in a remote area. By the time she reached there, it was already dusk.
The investigator was also waiting for her there. When Nie Jiqing saw him, she opened her mouth, only to realise that not even a syllable could be uttered from her throat.
Her throat felt as if it had been rubbed by rough sand— the raw pain was agonising.
After a while, Nie Jiqing could speak again. With a hoarse voice, she asked, “Where did she live?”
The man brought Nie Jiqing to an old house and she stared at the front in a daze.
This was no longer even considered an ‘old house’, because there was no one inhabited and it had long been dilapidated. There were weeds all around while the ground was full of fine stones.
The light was already dim, but the atmosphere here felt colder and sadder than the setting sun.
Nie Jiqing felt a pang of pain in her heart. This was where Luo Luo lived?
