Chapter 1187: The Super Adorable Sword Spirit

“An Lin, are you alright?”

Xu Xiaolan made her way over to An Lin.

“I’m fine. Let me introduce to you all my sword spirit, Little Xie.” An Lin pointed to the chubby little girl beside him with a smile on his face.

“Hi there, Little Xie, my name is Xu Xiaolan. If An Lin bullies you in the future, you can tell me, and I’ll teach him a lesson!” Xu Xiaolan made her way over to Little Xie and bent over with a dainty smile.

A faint smile appeared on Little Xie’s face. “I remember you. I’m not suffering from amnesia, so I still remember everything.”

“That’s great! Can I touch you?” Xu Xiaolan asked with a scorching light in her eyes.

“Huh?” Little Xie blinked her dead fish eyes with incomprehension.

At this moment, Xu Xiaolan had already grabbed handfuls of Little Xie’s adorable, chubby face and was kneading her cheeks around like they were balls of dough.

“Oh my God, her face is so adorable! I can’t get enough of this texture!” Xu Xiaolan was extremely elated. She had been struck by the powerful urge to get her hands on Little Xie ever since she first appeared, and that urge had only been growing stronger.

Her dream had now come true!

Little Xie was in the form of a little girl with an extremely adorable, round face, which gave onlookers the irresistible urge to rub her cheeks.

This was completely different from An Lin’s mental image of an aloof beauty!

It was exactly because of this that An Lin felt like the wrong sword spirit had been born when Little Xie first emerged. Actually, he still had that feeling even now!

He was the peerless Sword Immortal An Lin! Even if his sword spirit wasn’t some vicious creature that could strike fear into the hearts of his opponents, it couldn’t just be an adorable, chubby little girl! How was he supposed to flex now?!

An Lin was getting angry with this thought in mind.

He wasn’t into lolis, so he couldn’t summon any joy.

However, even though he couldn’t bring himself to get hyped up, the people around him were VERY hyped up.

“Look, look, it’s a sword spirit! I’ve never seen one before,” Ao Yuetang exclaimed excitedly.

“This is the most adorable item spirit I’ve ever seen, and it also has the strongest personality among any that I’ve witnessed,” Xiao Tu commented.

An Lin’s expression darkened upon hearing this. “Senior, when you say she has the strongest personality, are you referring to how she attacked her master as soon as she came into this world?”

“Hahaha…” An awkward, yet polite smile appeared on Xiao Tu’s face. “Well, it does show that you’re a family. You’re a man with a lot of personalities, so it’s normal for your item spirit to have such a strong personality as well!”

“When will my sword be able to nurture a spirit?” Ao Qingyu was green with envy as he muttered to himself.

An artifact that could speak only indicated that it possessed intelligence as well as its own sentient will. They were extremely rare, but one could still encounter an artifact like that from time to time.

However, an artifact that could materialize a spirit body was like a critically endangered species across the entire Tai Chu Continent. They were so rare that they possessed a legendary status.

Even the Dragon Court flex king who specialized in using swords did not have one.

Little Xie was irresistibly adorable to everyone. Even Ao Xiaowu had put away her usual lazy expression as she made her way toward Little Xie. “What an adorable sword spirit! Can I touch you too?”

Little Xie glared at Ao Xiaowu with a pair of cold, dead fish eyes. “Piss off!”

Ao Xiaowu: “…”

All of the dragons: “…”

“Ha… haha… I told you this sword spirit has her own personality…” Xiao Tu forced out an awkward laugh to try and liven up the atmosphere, which had suddenly become very awkward.

An Lin was very angry, and he pinched Little Xie’s chubby cheek. “Where are your manners?”

“Get your stinky hands off me, you fish-lipped human!” Little Xie was angry, but she was still extremely adorable nonetheless.

When An Lin pinched Little Xie’s cheek, he suddenly discovered that her cheek really did possess an exquisite texture!

It was warm and soft, yet smooth and tender… It could be molded into any shapes or forms, and no matter how you rubbed and pinched it, it was still just as adorable as ever…

An Lin discovered that he couldn’t stop!

He felt like he had discovered a new continent, and he became extremely excited as a result.

“I take back everything I said! I am so so lucky to have a sword spirit like you!” he exclaimed as he squeezed Little Xie’s cheeks.

Little Xie: “…”

“I don need you to dake back your wors…” Little Xie’s speech was impaired by An Lin’s ravaging hands, but she still persevered. “An I have to add one las ting; you’re a freak!”

“Huh?” An Lin’s hands suddenly faltered.

Little Xie’s body was glowing, and she disappeared into the Evil-Slaying Sword.

An Lin: “…”

“Little Xie, I’m sorry. Can you come out? I won’t pinch your cheeks anymore. Just come on out for some fresh air…” An Lin held the Evil-Slaying Sword and delivered a heartfelt apology.

Evil-Slaying Sword: “Piss off!”

An Lin: “…”

Little Xie had always had a bad temper, and it looked like that hadn’t changed.

An Lin returned to his brick to rest.

Many Dragon Tribe powerful beings tried to express their gratitude toward him through a variety of ways.

Some tried to curry his favors, some expressed concern, some expressed reverence and admiration, and there were also some who gave him presents…

An Lin had undoubtedly become the most renowned cultivator here.

His reputation would most likely become further enhanced when all of these mighty figures returned to their original world and spread words of his feats here.

The powerful beings of the Western Dragon Forest and the Dragon Court of the Eastern Seas split up into two areas to rest. This was the first time they had had such a peaceful interaction and didn’t engage in battle on sight…

Perhaps it was because everyone was a little averse to battle now after surviving that cataclysmic disaster.

An Lin tried to put the Evil-Slaying Sword back into his storage ring, only to find that the storage ring was unable to store the Evil-Slaying Sword anymore. He tried a few times all to no avail.

“Don’t be an idiot. Storage rings can only house inanimate objects. I have already nurtured a spirit, so I am a true life form. As such, I cannot be placed in a spatial storage device,” a cold, tender voice sounded.

“So I have to carry you all the time?” An Lin was astonished.

“That’s right! And why does it look like that idea is so repulsive to you?!” The Evil-Slaying Sword trembled violently as if it wanted to attack him again.

“Not at all! You’re completely mistaken!”

An Lin hurriedly pulled a sword sheath out of his storage ring.

This was a black and golden sword sheath, which had no particular function, but it was quite flashy.

He sheathed the Evil-Slaying Sword before carrying it on his back.

“I do look more like a sword immortal now, but it feels a little weird.” An Lin shrugged his shoulders with a disdainful expression. “You’re a little heavy, Little Xie. You should lose some weight.”

Evil-Slaying Sword: “…”

“By the way, how did you nurture your spirit? Did you attain sudden enlightenment when mending the heavens?” An Lin asked with a curious expression.

There was a hint of smugness in the Evil-Slaying Sword’s voice as it replied, “Nope. Mending the heavens was one of my abilities. I managed to nurture a spirit by absorbing the powers of this world!”

“Absorbing the powers of this world?” An Lin blinked as he recalled back to the mending of the heavens. “You mean that chaotic powers of laws.”

“That’s right.” Little Xie replied in a joyful voice, “There were some powers of laws that had been abandoned by this world, like the law which allowed dragons to absorb the power of dragons from other dragons by killing them. I severed those laws, then absorbed them as sustenance for myself. Using the powers of those laws, I was able to create a spirit body!”

An Lin nodded with a sense of sudden realization. “That sounds really cool. The Ancient Dragon Empress had been trying to escape the power of the cursed law her entire life, and the three Dragon Tribes had also paid a heavy price as a result… But who would have thought that you would be able to eat that terrifying law? How ironic…”

“It’s not really ironic. This was all pre-ordained by fate.”

Little Xie explained in a tender voice, “I was only struck by a sudden burst of enlightenment, which told me that I could mend the heavens when the world was about to completely crumble. Furthermore, it was only after I mended the heavens that I figured out I could sever and swallow the excessive, superfluous laws here…”

An Lin spoke in a solemn voice, “You can mend the heavens and eat laws, but you’re only a pinnacle level immortal tool? Not even divine tools are as bad*ss as you! You better be honest with me and tell me just what kind of sword you’re supposed to be!”

Little Xie was disgruntled by his interrogation. “You can bash Return to Void Stage mighty figures, break the divine dao, and control divine lightning, but you’re only a Soul Formation Stage cultivator? Not even Dao Integration Stage super mighty figures are as powerful as you! You better be honest with me and tell me just what kind of human you’re supposed to be?!”

An Lin: “???”

An Lin had no response to this.

She was right!

Sure enough, they really were from the same family…
