Chapter 122: Unwavering Determination and Defeat of Sierra

Chapter 122: Unwavering Determination and Defeat of Sierra

"SIERRA'S LAST STAND!"

The true ultimate skill of this boss, but also the most terrifying one.

And the reason was right in front of Stark, although he still decided to use [Perception] on it.

...

[Skill: Sierra's Last Stand]

[Description:] Sierra gives up shooting arrows to charge many more, and if she successfully manages to cast this skill after a while, then hundreds upon hundreds of arrows will appear to surround the enemy, leaving them with no real escape.

[Note:] This is an unavoidable attack, so eliminate her before she does that.

...

'...' Stark didn't say anything, his anger was at an all-time high since he knew that he was pretty much fucked, and the worst part was that look on Sierra's face, one that told him she was confident that she had won now.

His entire body, including face, eyes, and even hair was now surrounded by aura, like an armor, from outside perspective, you wouldn't be able to see his features at all, instead it would just be a red aura tracing his figure, and white eyes with blue/crimson pupils burning.

Stark couldn't give up now, he couldn't lose after all of this.

He had been sent here by that damn 'Archer King' because of money and the possibility of joining one of the most prestigious academies in this world, but... Stark was confident that none of the students there would be able to complete this.

Basically, he had given him a task at least thrice as hard as a normal passing test.

Did he hope to kill him? Or maybe he really believed Stark could win?

But he had already sent 7 people previously, and they had all died, so why...

'Why...' his anger was growing as he was looking to the ground, his white eyes' aura burning even more.

"WELL, GOODBYE," Sierra decided to stop the suspense going and pulled down both her arms, which immediately sent all the [Arrows of Sierra] flying toward Stark at the same time.

[Invincible Dodge] wouldn't work, and avoiding is impossible with the sheer amount.

'WHY...' meaning that Stark was fucked.

It was game over...

...

Or was it?

'WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY...' he gritted his teeth, and all he could see was red.

[Your determination to survive is outstanding...]

A crimson panel appeared in front of him as the arrows were only a few meters away.

[But giving up isn't the solution...]

'...'

~FWISH, DASH~

"Oh~?" Sierra raised her eyebrows, "Still trying...?"

[KEEP GOING!]

Stark began to run at terrifying speed toward Sierra.

But... the Archer kept smiling.

Of course, she had no reason to be scared since...

~CRISH, BAM, BAM, BAM~

The arrows reached Stark, and at least fifty of them hit him from all directions.

~BOOM, BOOM, BOOM~

All the arrows exploded, and the white mist that infected anybody who came in contact or inhaled it spread all over Stark.

'With this, it's over...' Sierra smiled.

One arrow was enough to stop a classifier at Stark's level, but around fifty would be enough to even stop a level 300 human or a boss monster.

'...' Stark's sudden rush stopped as soon as the arrows exploded, which stunned him and made him unable to move.

~CRWIISH~

Not only his body, but also his mind, were beginning to be infected by the perk of those arrows.

'...'

"Seems like it's my win," Sierra smiled as she sat down, wanting to enjoy the show.

But... even though his body was slowly beginning to transform, his mind on the other hand... screamed for him to keep going.

It REFUSED to give up.

[Keep going, this is not the end...]

And even though that damned mist also tried to get to his head...

[Your determination has chased the infection]

The aura inside his head was enough to stop it from infecting his brain.

It was a feat most would consider legendary, but for Stark, it was a question of survival.

"Look at you, unable to move," Sierra mocked, "It's normal after all, it's impossible to move once you're hit by one of my arrows!"

Even the [Shadow Stalker Trio] from before had been unable to move once a single arrow hit its shoulder.

But if Stark stood idle... he would surely die.

Which was why, with the entire determination inside his body, and his domination armor shielding him... he ordered one thing to his body: MOVE!

[MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!]

The pain was still there even though he wasn't being infected, and Stark struggled.

But in the end... his domination would come out on top.

~STEP~

He took a step toward Sierra, his eyes and aura burning twice as hard.

That [Domination Armor] of his gave him the ability to support the mist of the arrows, and his sheer determination forced him to keep going.

~STEP~

"...?" Sierra's eyes widened, after all, there was no way...

~STEP, STEP, TAP, RUN~

Struggling steps turned into walking, then after a few instants into full on running toward Sierra.

"Huh?" she couldn't believe what she was seeing that Stark's fist was already in front of her face, 'H-How did he move?'

This was impossible, no one can do that!

No one can do that, and yet... an anomaly was right in front of her.

She couldn't dodge as Stark's fist hit her helmet in full force.

~BAMMMM~

"-49288!" the crystal armor that protected her completely shattered, and she received the remaining damage, sending her flying backward.

"Cough, cough," Sierra struggled to breath, and honestly, she didn't even have the motivation to keep going, she was supposed to win after he was hit, and yet even that wasn't enough.

She looked up, and she saw that Stark was already there.

"..." his eyes were piercing her soul, and although it wasn't visible that he was mad, the sheer aura told her that this was bad.

['Sierra' has received the DOMINATED status!]

[End her.]

"W-wait, let me tell you something, LET ME-" she tried to gain time, in hopes that the infection inside of him could stop him, she was now fearful of Stark and his aura.

But Stark wasn't dumb, and so...

~KICK, BOOOM~

"-8372!"

He kicked her down, placing his shoe on her face, but making sure not to do enough damage to kill her.

"Monster..." Sierra coughed again.

"Your first mistake wasn't doing everything that you did," he lifted his foot, focusing the entirety of his aura on it, "Your sole and only mistake was meeting me and thinking you would win."

And so... he slammed her face with his foot while she was still processing what he had said, a terrified look on her face.

"73618!"

She died, and the last expression on her face was one of a scared prey running from her predator.

[Sierra HP: 0/315000]

[You have defeated 'Sierra, The Crystal Archer'!]
