Chapter 256: Purging a Rift?
Chapter 256: Purging a Rift?
[Lother, The Grave Keeper has been defeated!]
[Reaper, The Undead Puppeteer, has been defeated!]
"Phew…" Stark immediately fell to the ground, his legs giving out from exhaustion, it wasn't every day he fought two enemies so strong after all.
"=)" the clone was also there, just smiling at it constantly keep looking at Reaper's body, his bones turned into dust, and Lother's body on the other hand was just non-existent since [Heaven's Wrath] completely erased it.
"Well, time to check the panels out," Stark sighed as he was sitting on the cold ground.
~DING~
[You have slain 'Lother, The Grave Keeper lv145', gained 4,100,485EXP!]
This seemed normal, although Stark almost wanted to dance because of the exp wanted.
But right after…
~DING, DING~
[Congratulations, you have eliminated your first calamity-level monsters! Woohoo!]
[You have slain 'Reaper, The Undead Puppeteer lv150', gained 7,650,000EXP!]
":O" Stark's mind went blank, and his jaw almost hit the ground because of how shocked he was.
To show you just how giant this amount of experience was, the previous strongest monster the boy had fought: Warden, gave Stark exactly 5,240,000 experience points.
And now… Reaper, who was a calamity apostle, gave around 2.5 million more.
Was it because he was a level 150 apostle… or… was it because of his ranking as a monster?
"Yeah… it's because he is a calamity monster… heh…" Stark mumbled to himself, since Lother, who was pretty close in level, did give much less.
And with all of that…
[+11,750,485 EXP!]
He had finally reached over 10 million experience at once, a phenomenal milestone.
And so…
~DING, DING, DING, DING~
[Your level has increased to level 67, granting you three skill points and a boost in stats]
[Your level has increased to level 68, granting you three skill points and a boost in stats]
[Your level has increased to level 69, granting you three skill points and a boost in stats]
[Your level has increased to level 70, granting you three skill points and a boost in stats]
[Experience: 1,560,000/3,690,000]
[Skill Points: 30 Available!]
"Finally…" he had finally reached level 70, meaning that he would be able to get a new skill, plus he was only five levels away from level 75 which would allow him to spin the [Class Wheel] and grant him a new class.
But now that Stark knew just how hard it was to level up with [Domination].
Then he would surely have to wait a few weeks before being able to level up since he wouldn't have an opportunity for a rift as good as this one until a while, if not until he manages to unlock the [Devil's Abyss] using the key he had gotten.
"GRKAKK~"
"HIKIKI~"
In addition to that, all the undead that were constantly cheering suddenly began to glow with a deep white light, and after a sudden flash, all of them disappeared, as if they never existed in the first place.
"Huh."
~SWISH~
The arena, and the entire rift in that regard, were now completely silent, something that had never happened before as there would always be some kind of noise around Stark no matter where he went.
And yet… now… the only noise that he could hear was the one of the wind running through his hair.
There was legitimately nothing else.
And the reason was simple: he had done something most people wouldn't even imagine being possible.
It was…
[Congratulations, Stark Heartsouls!]
'Hm?'
[You have eliminated all the monsters of this rift!]
"What…?" his eyes widened in surprise.
[Yes! You did indeed kill all of them, and they cannot respawn again, meaning that this rift is officially 'purged'!]
All the monsters had been killed.
"Holy…"
"=)"
[As a reward for purging an entire rift, you have been granted a 'Max out Core'!]
[You can sell it for a massive amount of money, or use it on one of your skills to INSTANTLY max it out, no matter what its level is!]
"Amazing…" Stark smiled, this would be extremely useful.
The item appeared in Stark's hand, it looked like a flint stone, though it was glowing with a beautiful aura.
"I'm keeping it until upgrading my skills again as it would be dumb to waste while the max is level 50," he immediately put it in his [Spatial Inventory] then got up from the ground.
In addition to that item though, he noticed three faint purple glows coming from Reaper's remains, yet strangely enough, none coming from Lother's? Was it because he was erased, or because Reaper was the main threat?
He took the items and placed the three of them in front of him, vowing to complete everything he needed to do before leaving the rift, as it was extremely peaceful right now, with nothing there to disturb him.
[Assign your skill points?]
[Check out the 'ApostleDex'?]
[Check the equipment?]

[Level 70 reached: pick a card!]
He had many things to do, and so the peace of this place actually allowed him to think better than if he was in the city, constantly hearing the sound of machinery and cars.
~FWISH~
Three completely black cards appeared in front of him, their backs showed a white skull with red dots in its eyes, resembling Reaper, but also the [Death Card] that had taken him to this rift.
"Clone?" Stark smiled, and the [Superior Clone] nodded as it went behind the cards, beginning to look at them.
"…" but as soon as it did, it suddenly lost its smile.
"Huh?" Stark was confused.
They had defeated the monsters, everything was looking up for both of them.
So why… was its expression so grim…?
"…" in the end, the clone just shrugged, then pointed at the card in the middle.
Stark trusted it, so he grabbed it, and…
"The fuck?"
Once he saw the front for himself, he realized there was actually no front: it was completely black, the same color as the card, meaning that the only thing visible in it was the skull.
"Clone?" Stark raised his eyebrows, and the clone just shrugged again, almost as if saying that the card it had picked wouldn't have mattered, "Hm… were all the cards just… void?" he asked.
"=)" and the clone nodded again, smiling mischievously as if it retrieved its confidence.
"Huh…" nonetheless, Stark decided to check out the skill.
…
[Skill: The Void (Passive - Part One)]
[Rank: Mythical]
[Description: It is the void, nothing more, nothing less, anyone sent to this void cannot be recovered, and if the host decides to jump in themselves, then their doom will be imminent]
[Note: this skill is a passive since it is required for some other skills in the future to work, basically, it is like one of the pieces of a two part puzzle, not having it would mean the other skills don't work!]
[Info: This skill cannot be leveled up!]
…
"Two part skills…?" Stark was immensely confused, but after reading the note a few more times, he guessed that all the cards probably all showed [The Void] since some skills would require it in the future.
Though, he did wonder what kind of skill would require the FUCKING VOID to be used?!
"Sigh…" he scratched his forehead, "I guess that's fine, it IS mythical in rank after all…"
And so, Stark decided to move to his skill points, wanting to assign them as to give him the BEST possible outcome in terms of perks.
