Chapter 88: Equipment and Key
Chapter 88: Equipment and Key
Stark emerged from the black door, stepping back into his hotel room, nothing had changed, except for the time since he had been inside for around twenty minutes.
Time inside and outside the 'Memories Museum' worked the same, meaning that if he wanted to train inside, it would mean stocking up on food and also not expecting anyone from the outside to come look for him (this wouldn't be a difficult task).
Plus, he hadn't realized it yet, but the sun was already mostly up.
He had gotten up very early yesterday to go to the rift, but it still took him around 11 hours to complete it, as well as around 12-13 hours of travel to go and come back.
Add that to the time he spent checking out his new panels, as well as the many different waiting periods, like for example waiting for the opening.
And so as soon as Stark checked the time... he noticed that it was 7:30am.
"Spatial Inventory!" he opened his inventory, and pulled out all the equipment he had gotten inside of the secret rift.
There were a total of 7 items, 1 from the Minotaur, which was the [Minotaur's Helmet], two from the obsidian golem, and 4 from Judicator.
He would need to sell many of them since he either didn't have the required level, wasn't interested, or it wasn't for his class, but in the end it was fine since it would increase his assets.
...
[Equipment:] The Minotaur's Helmet
[Type:] Helmet
[Class:] Warrior
[Tier:] Rare
[Required Level:] 40
[Quality:] Normal
[Attributes:] +250 Strength, +400 Defense
[Special Perk:] Allows the wearer to go into a berserk state, essentially using the 'Berserk State' skill of the Canyon Minotaur, which greatly enhances strength, defense, and stamina (+50% increase) for a minute.
...
He had already checked this one before, but just made sure that it was correct.
It immediately went to the 'sell' list though, since he could only use it if he was a warrior.
He decided to skim through the rest quickly, only paying attention to the items that could actually be used by him (class related, not for required level).
And the two items the obsidian golem had dropped were...
...
[Equipment:] Obsidian Gauntlets
[Type:] Gloves
[Class:] Beast Tamer, Magus
[Tier:] Uncommon
[Required Level:] 35
[Quality:] Normal
[Attributes:] +250 Mind, +450 Strength
[Special Perk:] Summons two obsidian beasts to aid you in battle.
...
[Equipment:] Obsidian Golem's Ring
[Type:] Ring
[Class:] Assassin, Warrior, Soul Wielder
[Tier:] Rare
[Required Level:] 30
[Quality:] Good
[Attributes:] +500 Defense
[Special Perk:] Like the obsidian golem, create a layer of obsidian (like an armor) that can tank up to 20k damage.
...
'None of these are useful either,' he groaned as he put the two obsidian equipment beside the Minotaur helmet.
This left him with four equipment pieces: the ones that had dropped from Judicator.
Of course, Stark remembered that one of the items was wings as he had picked it up before the monument began to collapse, but he hadn't checked the window either.
...
[Equipment:] Judicator's Black Wings
[Type:] Wings
[Class:] Domination
[Tier:] Legendary
[Required Level:] 25
[Quality:] Perfect
[Attributes:] +200 Speed, +300 Stamina
[Special Perk:] Ability to use [Dash], which basically gives the user a boost in speed to evade an attack by flapping the wings in the direction you want to go.
[Note: the wings become invisible when put on!]
...
'Interesting...' he moved on to the next two items, which were respectfully a mask with Judicator's face on it and a staff with a golden orb at the edge of it.
...
[Equipment:] The Fallen Angel's Mask
[Type:] Mask
[Class:] Assassin, Soul Wielder
[Tier:] Epic
[Required Level:] 25
[Quality:] Good
[Attributes:] +500 Mind/Intelligence
[Special Perk:] Grants the user the ability to see through illusions and detect hidden traps or enemies within a certain radius.
...
[Equipment:] Judicator's Staff
[Type:] Staff
[Class:] Magus, Exorcist
[Tier:] Rare
[Required Level:] 40
[Quality:] Normal
[Attributes:] +250 Mind, +100 Stamina
[Special Perk:] Highly increases proficiency in divine magic, and also allows the user to blind the opponent with a divine light.
...
'Everything except for the wings is fucking useless...' Stark groaned, he knew that all these items would fetch him a good amount of rher coins, but he also wanted to be able to gain more power from his equipment.
And finally, Stark turned his gaze to the last item he had gotten from the angel, and it was a rather... surprising one.
It wasn't a ring, or any weapon/wearable piece actually, instead... it was a key.
...
[Item:] Devil's Abyss Key
[Type:] Key
[Quality:] Artifact
[Perk:] The key that allows to open the 'Devil's Abyss' rift and its secret final chamber (home of three 'Godless Demon' apostles)
...
Below the crimson with a demon shaped stone on it was a note, Stark immediately picked it up to read its contents.
[Good job on killing the angel, now come see us if you want to meet your demise, little human =)]
'...' Stark was shocked, but not because of the content of the note, instead it was because... "What the actual fuck is that writing, I'm going to these guys and teaching them a lesson of basic english."
The text was almost incomprehensible, and it took Stark a few minutes to make sure he understood whatever was written on there.
'Well... I get it,' Stark put all the equipment he had gotten, including the wings (he would use them when he was back) and the key, inside the [Spatial Inventory], then immediately left his hotel room and hailed for a taxi to the trading district of Fellarburg.
It was still early in the morning, but he got used to going there at this time since there were fewer people, and he truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.
'What about the breakthrough for my skills, though?' he remembered that he needed to do something to increase the limit from 10 to 15, yet he didn't know what or how.
[You need to purchase a 'Lv25 Breakthrough Stone', which is also called the 'Iron Breakthrough Stone']
'Hm... Why is that?'
[Classifiers are only usually ranked based on their level, but for their overall strength, there are several categories: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Ascendant, Prodigy, Immortal and Classified]
[Note: these categories are only used for breakthroughs to another tier, so you probably won't hear them much...]
'Like a competitive fps game!' Stark nodded, being an avid Volarant player (typo is on purpose).
[Huh... yeah, whatever that is...]
And so, Stark reached the trading district, he had lots of things to do since he had reached level 25, and he was excited to do all of that quickly to get back to the 'Memories Museum' and finally start training.
