“It’s time to close the net.”
Looking at the grayish pupils in his palm, Lu Xuan spoke coldly.
The fisherman, thinking he could catch a big fish, didn’t realize that what was waiting for him were several fierce, bloodthirsty sharks.
He immediately relayed the message to Ge Pu and the other two True Disciples. They all claimed to be ready to provide support at any time Lu Xuan required.
As for the Luan Bird and the Little White Ape, he had the hair left by the White Ape, which he could use to summon the two beasts at any moment.
For the following few days, Lu Xuan kept a close watch on the happenings inside the Underworld Court through the Void Nightmare Eye.
During this period, the infant phantom of the Holy Infant Fruit Plant appeared a few more times. Each time it exhibited clear consciousness, observing the formations and arrangements in the court.
However, despite the infant phantom possessing great initiative, it was after all just a weird spiritual fruit without special abilities, let alone the ability to break through the Thousand Illusion Cloud Smoke Array set up by Lu Xuan.
Knowing that the spiritual fruit was nearing maturity, Lu Xuan contacted Ge Pu and the others, and they spontaneously converged in Sword Gate Town.
Ge Pu and Zhong Jing Shan, the two True Disciples, concealed themselves in the center of the town; they would be at the small court in just a few breaths. As for the Fire Scale Child, it was hidden around Sword Gate Town, just to be safe.
Lu Xuan continued to monitor the surroundings of the courtyard day and night through the Void Nightmare Eye.
“Finally, they have arrived.”
One day, Lu Xuan noticed a cultivator with an average figure and ordinary appearance near the small court. Acting as if he was passing by, he circled the court before swiftly leaving.
He hadn’t noticed that high above his head, a grayish-white pupil appeared and disappeared, like it was travelling through the void, following him from a distance.
The next day, Wei Yi Xian strolled through the various alleys of Sword Gate Town, occasionally pausing to ask about the various cultivator treasures at the stalls.
Without realizing it, he had arrived near Lu Xuan’s little court.
“There would soon be a huge harvest!”
Thinking of the mature Holy Infant Fruit Plant and several rare fourth and fifth rank spirit plants that he was about to retrieve, he felt fired up and quickened his pace.
He had already understood the detailed condition of the offspring planted here through a thought connected to the Holy Baby Fruit Mother Tree.
A small court planted with several strange spiritual plants.
No cultivator had been seen in the court for a long time. He didn’t know if they were out on an exploration adventure, or if they considered the court inconvenient.
However, that had nothing to do with him. As long as he could retrieve the spiritual fruits of the Holy Infant Fruit Plant and several rare spiritual plants, that would already be a great achievement.
It was a pity that, although his thoughts could invade the spiritual fruit, they had no extraordinary abilities to silently move the spiritual plants out of the formation. He still needed to personally make a move.
After observing a few times, he had already confirmed the flow and trajectory of spiritual power within the formation, and was extremely confident in easily deciphering it.
“The only uncertain element is that this small court is too close to the Sky Sword Sect, just over a hundred miles away. If the Golden Core Real People or the True Disciples within are alarmed, it would be difficult to escape unscathed.”
Wei Yi Xian thought to himself. Though he himself was a powerful cultivator at the Foundation Establishment Perfect Realm, he didn’t appear as such in the eyes of the massive Sky Sword Sect.
“However, the risk is negligible compared to the value of those spiritual plants.”
“What are the odds that a Golden Core Real Person or a True Disciple just happens to be staying in such an inconspicuous little town and just happens to run into me?”
Wei Yi Xian thought to himself.
He arrived in front of the small court, looked around, and after making sure there were no abnormalities, took out an Array Plate from his storage bag.
The spiritual power on the Array Plate fluctuated, quickly hiding and disguising him.
Directly after, he took out a high-grade Prohibition Breaking Talisman and walked to the edge of the formation.
Just as he was about to try and break through the formation, a voice suddenly rang out.
“Friend, your actions are somewhat lacking in integrity.”
The spiritual power in the formation surged as a handsome, refined-looking young man came out from the court, looking on at Wei Yi Xian with a smirk.
“There’s someone inside!”
Wei Yi Xian was startled. He suppressed the momentary panic in his heart, maintaining composure.
He sent his spiritual power into the small court but did not detect any significant aura. Looking at the handsome man before his eyes, he sensed his Foundation Establishment Mid-term cultivation level and felt more assured.
“I apologize; this small court belongs to a good friend of mine. We haven’t seen each other for many years, so I, happening to pass by this place, thought of visiting him. When I arrived at the court and couldn’t reach him, I impulsively tried to break the formation.”
“If I have offended you in any way, I ask for your forgiveness.”
“Would you happen to know the whereabouts of my friend?”
He asked sincerely.
“I’ve only had this small court for a short ten-odd years. As for the information about the previous owner or owners, I don’t know much.”
“Hence, I can only apologize to you.”
Lu Xuan chuckled inwardly as he matched skills with the evil Dao Cultivator standing in front of him.
“Ah, the world is ever-changing. I hope he’s safe and has just moved to a new location.”
“Let’s hope for the best.”
“Since you know the previous owner of the small court, it could be considered a sort of fate between us. Why don’t you come in for some Spiritual Fruit Spiritual Tea to lighten the grief of missing your friend?”
Lu Xuan broached the subject.
“Would that be alright?”
“Of course, it’s appropriate. I just brewed a pot of Spiritual Tea. The fresh leaves I just picked can increase spiritual power and clear the mind. It’s truly a top-grade tea.”
“Then, I must not refuse your invitation.”
“Hahaha, please come in!”
Lu Xuan stood by the gate and gestured him to enter.
“It’s alright. I’ll get rid of him in the court and keep as quiet as possible, then flee thousands of miles.”
Wei Yi Xian looked at Lu Xuan as if he was looking at a dead man. He then stepped into the small court.
But he didn’t notice. From behind, Lu Xuan was watching him with an even more intense gaze.
“Hmm?”
Upon entering the small court, Wei Yi Xian paused for a moment, a frown on his face as if he sensed something was off.
Just then, the scene in front of him shattered into numerous transparent fragments like flowers in a mirror or the moon reflected in the water. Two cultivators, one sipping Spiritual Tea, one munching on Spiritual Fruit, were watching him with interest.
One of them had black and white pupils – one deep and dark, the other pale and indifferent.
The other one was wearing a black robe woven from peculiar Insect Beasts. Numerous auras hovered around him, locking him down.
“True Disciples of Sky Sword Sect, Ge Pu! Zhong Jing Shan!”
Wei Yi Xian felt like he’d been doused with a bucket of cold water. The chill seeped from his head to his toes. Despite having endured many life-and-death situations, he could not help shivering.
Ge Pu and the others had been famous in the Cultivation World for a long time. Using their divine skills and artifacts, along with their profound cultivation, they had killed countless Evil Dao Cultivators.
He had no idea that there would be two True Disciples waiting for him in this small court!
