Chapter 66: She'll talk [Bonus chapter].

"So you want to know what type of group we, the Red Wings, are, right love?" Sinex asked, now seated back on the bch.

"Yes, and don't leave out a single detail." Ha Joon raised a finger, his left arm tucked.

'Learning a mind-reading skill is hella complicated; if not, I wouldn't have to deal with this annoying girl.'

"Very well, I'll tell you." Sinex now had a serious look on her face.

Merlin leaned in slightly, her eyes narrowed, waiting for the answer.

"We are simply a group of brok humans who were granted immse power by the goddess we serve," Sinex confessed.

"That much is obvious. What is your cult about? Surely it's not just about serving the goddess of Discord; she's be missing for years now." Merlin's tone shifted, growing sharper.

Sinex glared at her for a while, th, with a sigh, she decided to respond.

"Regarding our goal, well, we do whatever it is Mother asks of us. If she wants a village tak down for disrespecting her, we'll abide without a second thought. Mother didn't disappear, that much I can tell you."

"Did she ask you to kill me?" Ha Joon interjected, eyes locked on her.

"Oh no, that's the last thing Mother wants. She simply wants to see you, by any means necessary." Sinex smiled, her expression shifting to something more cryptic. "Though she never gave us a reason, I'm sure it's because she sees what I see in you too."

'She just wants to see me? Quite the dramatic way to show that.'

[Would you like me to access the Knowledge of the Gods for more information regarding the Goddess of Discord?]

'I was just about to ask you to. Ev though she's telling the truth, she's still keeping some vital information.'

[Understood.]

Merlin leaned forward, her eyes sharp. "Does she want any type of conflict with Camelot?"

This time, Sinex's expression turned serious. "Why, of course. If she doesn't get what she wants, she'll bring the whole place to the g. Only a fool would dare dy the gods what they ask for."

Merlin blinked, slightly tak aback by the response. There was no hesitation in Sinex's voice, no hint of fear.

"Why is a goddess coming after you?" Merlin muttered more to herself, her gaze shifting toward Ha Joon, frustration evidt on her face.

"Where is the goddess currtly?" Ha Joon asked calmly.

"Hehe, sorry, can't tell you that." Sinex chuckled.

Merlin sighed and shot Ha Joon a look. "This is a total waste of time. Let's just go find out for ourselves."

"She's going to talk," Ha Joon replied confidtly, his eyes never leaving Sinex. "You don't have to worry about that. Give me some time."

He stood up abruptly.

"Guard! Release this prisoner. I'm taking her to the castle!"

"Eh? Ehhhhhh?!" Merlin shouted, eyes wide in disbelief.

---

"Wh the hell are we going back to the temple?! We have to report to Mother about the currt situation!" Zex yelled, pacing back and forth at the edge of a small river.

He was wearing ragged trousers, his chest bare, and his black hair a mess.

"You would go back to her without the man she requested we bring? You must have forgott how deep Mother's wrath can be," Scorpion replied, calmly sharping his blade on a small rock.

"Th let's go back and get him!" Zex turned, his face twisted in frustration. "We're still in Camelot; it shouldn't be hard finding the royal capital. I'm sure that's where he is."

"Your memory must be failing," Scorpion responded without looking up, "The last I checked, you couldn't lay a single finger on him—up until the point he exploded your body with his fist."

Zex growled, clching his fists. "So what would you have us do? Sit here and hide like cowards? Mother will sd the others to find us, and th what?"

Scorpion's eyes glinted as he looked up. "That's not a bad idea."

"What is your problem?!" Zex stormed over to him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him close. "Don't tell me you're having cold feet already! We lost once because we were caught off guard. Now that we know the bastard is strong, we'll prepare better."

Scorpion smiled, a twisted grin spreading across his face. "You misunderstand. I don't have cold feet. If anything, I'm eager—eager to die by his hands again. It was exhilarating."

Zex stepped back, disgust and confusion writt all over his face. "You're as weird as her. First Mother, now you? Give me a break."

He released Scorpion and turned away. "If you're not going to help, th I'll do it myself. I'll find Sinex, and we'll return to the temple together."

"By all means, do as you please," Scorpion replied nonchalantly, returning to sharping his blade.

"Tsk! Always the disappointmt." Zex spat on the g and stormed off.

As Zex emerged from the bushes, he found himself standing on a cliff. From there, he could see a vast river splitting three towns in the distance. His eyes narrowed as he remembered Camelot's geography—the capital's water source was near the main city.

Riok, the forest where he was currtly in was close to the beast town and also the knight to trainee g. Not only was it closer to where the knights were, it was also where a dangerous number of Beast m were located.

One wrong move, and he would have a whole army of troops chasing him; and escaping didn't seem likely.

"So that's where it is, huh? Chances are, that's where they're keeping Sinex. Th again, I might be wrong. I need answers before I blindly walk into emy territory."

Almost immediately, he heard the voices of two Camelot soldiers below the cliff, pulling a wagon filled with supplies.

Zex's instincts kicked in. His eyes glowed gre as he slipped back into the shadows, his hand already taking the form of a blade.
