Chapter 45 - Looking for Trouble

Chapter 45: Looking for Trouble

Outside, the soldiers helped their injured leader to a safe spot before calling Lieutenant Xiao Zhen, who was waiting in the villa.

“Reporting, Sir. The children are protected by a group of powerful mercenaries. We can’t get close.”

“Trash! A bunch of good-for-nothings!”

Xiao Zhen reprimanded them before hanging up the phone in a huff.

He did not expect that this stupid woman, who was rumored to only care about money, had become so smart and powerful that she could actually finish off the people he sent.

Could the rumors have been wrong?

It looked like they had to rely on their wits now, and not just clash head-on with Qiu Tong!

In the kindergarten, the children trailed after Qiu Xingyu and the other two like a pack of dogs, stealing glances at Ke Le…

The mercenaries kept a straight face as they watched the naughty brats prod them with their fingers. The kids were so envious that they started salivating. They shouted, “Wow! They’re mercenaries! So powerful!”

Qiu Xingqiao lifted his small face proudly, his eyes full of pride.

Little Yu stood on her tiptoes and called out to Qiu Tong, “Goodbye, Mommy!”

Qiu Tong waved and sighed. She touched her empty wallet and turned to go and make money to support her family.

Outside the clinic, the boss squatted under the sign with his head in his hands. When he sensed that someone was there, he said without looking up.

“Leave. The miracle doctor isn’t here!”

“I’m here.”

Qiu Tong suppressed her laughter and pushed open the door. She saw two pots of green plants in front of the curtain separating the office area, as if waiting for her to return…

“Aiyo! You’re finally here! I thought you weren’t coming anymore!”

When the boss saw that it was her, his attitude instantly improved. He moved the ladder over and hung the banner that said “Miracle Doctor, Treats All Illnesses”!

Qiu Tong stood by the side of the road and saw an anxious young man carrying an elderly man on his back. They were hurrying toward another clinic at the end of the street.

The old man’s face was pale, and he seemed to be in dire straits. He could not afford to waste another minute.

She frowned and stopped him. “The patient’s condition is not good. Don’t move him about too much. Stop carrying him around.”

The young man was a little flustered. “Then what should we do? I have to bring Grandfather for treatment!”

Qiu Tong moved and revealed the clinic’s sign behind her. “This is a clinic. Bring your grandfather in. I can see him.”

“…Alright!”

The young man looked hesitantly at the end of the street. Gritting his teeth, he carried his grandfather into the clinic.

A gangster standing on the street with a toothpick in his mouth saw this and spat.

“Damn it, this clinic again! They’re stealing my sister’s business! Let’s go, we’ll teach them a lesson later!”

Inside the clinic, the young man clenched his fists nervously. He took out all the money from his pockets and spoke with a trembling voice.

“Please save my grandfather!”

Qiu Tong lifted the old man’s clothes and discovered that there was a wound on his abdomen. The wound had not been properly treated and was infected with pus which resulted in his current critical condition…

Using her silver needles as a conductor, she used her supernatural power to slowly scrape away the festering flesh. She made the wound stop bleeding and then bandaged it.

Qiu Tong watched as the old man’s breathing gradually stabilized and said, “It’s done.”

The young man widened his eyes. “You’re really a miracle doctor! I spent thousands of dollars in the other clinic, but Grandpa’s condition just kept getting worse.”

It turned out that they had ended up delaying proper treatment because of those quack doctors.

The young man thanked her repeatedly. She wiped the silver needles with a cotton cloth and waited for the next patient. However, she heard a commotion at the door…

A few tough-looking men carried in a stretcher with a man screaming in pain. They set him on the ground.

“Miracle doctor? Hurry up and take a look at my brother. If he can’t be cured, I’ll destroy your shop! What kind of bullshit signboard is that? It’s all a lie!”

His loud voice attracted a lot of onlookers.

Qiu Tong frowned, sensing his hostility. She examined the sick man’s body. His face was ruddy, and there was nothing wrong with his muscles or bones. What was wrong with him?

They were obviously here to cause trouble and were just using him as an excuse!

She smirked and said, “He’s not sick. Leave now. Don’t obstruct my consultations.”

One of the boorish men rolled up his sleeves. “Bah! A quack! My brother is already in so much pain! How can he not be sick? Don’t tell me he’s just pretending?”

Qiu Tong saw that they were unwilling to give up. She placed her fingers on the “patient’s” ankle and twisted it forcefully…

“Ah!”

His fake wailing was instantly raised by an entire octave. He was in so much pain that his entire body was twitching and he was sweating profusely.

The boorish man looked a little anxious. “What are you doing!”

Qiu Tong looked up, exuding an oppressive and cold aura. “Since you want to create trouble, you should put on a better act. Don’t expose any flaws. Carry him away. It’s just a dislocation, it can still be fixed…”

The boorish man pointed at Qiu Tong and the boss and hollered. “Do you know who you’ve offended?”

“My sister is Mayor Shen’s relative! This isn’t over! Just you wait, don’t try to run away. I’ll make you suffer!”
