Chapter 292: Coma For Five Days

The moon was bright. When Qiu Tong came out of the room, she saw Song Yan squatting on the ground.

Song Yan saw her from the corner of his eye. He stood up and asked, “How… is he?”

Qiu Tong saw the bleeding bandage on his waist and pointed at a guest room toward the front. “Come with me. I’ll change your dressing.”

The room was filled with a heavy atmosphere. Song Yan’s wound had split open. As Qiu Tong handled Song Yan’s wound, he didn’t seem to feel the pain and didn’t make a sound. She frowned as she stared at the wound. “Why do you hate him?”

They were twin brothers. What kind of hatred would drive Song Yan to target Jin Yang like this? Even the mention of him would bring an intense sense of hatred.

Song Yan lowered his head and fiddled with a bullet shell in his hand. A self-deprecating smile hung on his lips as he said indifferently, “Hate?”

“I used to trust and rely on him a lot. I looked up to him as a model example.”

Countless images appeared in Song Yan’s mind. The dusty memories surged over, causing him to feel a suffocating pain in his heart.

Qiu Tong sat quietly beside him and listened to his narration.

Song Yan looked at the shadows of the trees dancing outside the window. “Our father constantly chose between us brothers since we were young. He wanted the best to become the president and hold the highest authority and power. Jin Yang is very smart and obedient. Father will often praise him.”

“I’m envious, but not jealous. I’ve never even thought of snatching anything from him.”

Song Yan curled his lips into a bitter smile. “But that’s not what Jin Yang thinks. Father is very strict with us. He doesn’t allow us to love any living thing. I secretly raised a stray dog outside and only brought Jin Yang to see it…”

“The next day, I found the dog’s corpse. Its stiff limbs were straight, and its eyes were filled with lingering fear.”

Song Yan could not forget the scene at that time. The seeds of disappointment grew in his heart.

When he was young, he was ignorant of relationships between men and women. Song Yan liked a girl from the same class, but the other party broke up with him only after a short while. The reason was that she had fallen in love with Jin Yang and wanted to be with him!

Song Yan had lost the people and things he cared about one after another. Resentment began to blind his eyes.

“From that moment on, I swore to snatch away what Jin Yang treasured as well! I’ll let him taste the pain of loss…”

Qiu Tong saw the conflict and frustration in his eyes. “I think there might be a misunderstanding between the two of you. Jin Yang wouldn’t do such a thing. He has always cared about you. I can feel that he has a brotherly bond with you. He’s also accommodating you and trying to make it up to you.”

Song Yan stood up silently and stared back at the room where Jin Yang was in. He turned around and left silently.

Jin Yang had been in a coma for five days. Every day, Qiu Tong would treat him with her special ability.

Qiu Xingyuan looked at her gradually weakening appearance with an aching heart. He discussed with Ye Luan and Qiu Xingqiao about making some nourishing soup for her, or taking turns to watch over Jin Yang. He wanted to reduce Qiu Tong’s burden. She sensed their concern and hugged them in relief, silently absorbing their strength.

The living room was very quiet. Suddenly, Shao An’s voice was heard from the second floor.

Qiu Tong let go of Qiu Xingyuan and ran upstairs. She hit her ankle against the corner of the coffee table, but she couldn’t care less about the pain as she barged into the ward.

Shao An was so excited that tears flowed down his cheeks. He pointed at the man on the bed who had opened his eyes.

Qiu Tong hesitantly took two steps forward, afraid that she was hallucinating.

Jin Yang waved at her weakly and called out her name. Qiu Tong heard his familiar voice and pounced onto the bed. She held his hand tightly, holding back her tears as she asked, “How are you feeling now? Does your wound still hurt?”

Jin Yang shook his head. The medical staff rushed over after receiving the news and conducted a meticulous examination on him.

Qiu Tong clenched her fists nervously. She only heaved a sigh of relief when she heard the medical staff say, “Mr. President’s health is no longer a problem. He just needs to recuperate in peace.” Everyone in the room had already tactfully left, leaving only Qiu Tong to accompany Jin Yang.

That chaotic gunfight seemed to have happened just yesterday. Qiu Tong looked at him quietly and said, “You’ve already been asleep for five days.”

Jin Yang’s eyes flashed with apology. He wanted to squeeze her hand but his wound ached and he frowned.

Qiu Tong glared at him and ordered, “Don’t move. I’ll be keeping an eye on you!”

Jin Yang smiled and nodded. It was as if he had been having an incomparably long dream for the past few days. He could hear Qiu Tong whispering to him every night about what she wanted to do with him. Jin Yang wanted to answer, but he couldn’t open his eyes.

Sensing his burning gaze, Qiu Tong thought that he had something important to say and leaned forward to kiss him.

Jin Yang smiled and said, “Were you serious when you said that you wanted to give Little Yu a younger sister?”

Qiu Tong frowned at his mischievous smile. She raised her fist high and sighed before answering, “Yes!”
