Chapter 33: Exam Part 7 Ape Escape
'Huh?' Was the only thing Kaden thought as his body began to fall towards the ground after the Rattler was pulled apart.
He thought that was the end of the exam for him and that the possibility of getting into the school was more than over now. He turned his head in the air to look at his impending doom and in the final moments closed his eyes before he hit the ground but instead of suddenly being outside the exam area a pair of warm arms caught him before he hit the ground.
Surprised by this Kaden opened his eyes to see someone he didn't expect, "Emma?" Kaden asked in confusion towards the blonde-headed girl. He thought she would just stay in the forest while he was eliminated and maybe escape towards the other group but it didn't seem to be the case.
Emma sighed as she looked at him, "It seems I'm the one always saving you." She said before throwing his body far away.
"Ouch! What was that for?!" Kaden shouted as his body collided with the dirt. He immediately stood up and was about to yell at Emma but the second he glanced at her suddenly her body collided with something and it threw her against a far away tree. Her body then became really sparkly before disappearing.
'Wait what?' Kaden was too surprised by everything at this point and took a second to realize that the thing that collided with Emma's body was the Great Apes' hand.
"OH CRAP!" Kaden shouted before starting to run towards the area of the forest that still had the trees up. He tossed what just happened to the back of his mind for a moment so he could focus on living and taking the chance Emma gave him.
"ROARRR!" *WHISH*
As Kaden ran he felt the heat of the ape's breath from his position and felt how the air behind him changed as if something passed through it but he didn't dare look, 'Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. I can make it!' Kaden chanted in his mind until he finally made it into a forest of tall trees that he hoped would stop the ape somewhat.
Kaden kept running through the trees not turning around as he wanted to make sure to make some distance between him and the ape before going forward. Luckily the trees in the area he had chosen were much taller and stronger than the ones from before and the ape was having a hard time getting through as it took around 15 seconds per tree for it to break it. Kaden eventually hid behind a tree further along in the forest and decided to take a moment to breathe. Doing so he started recounting his situation and realized that he forgot about something.
'Where's Sky?!' He thought confused.
Kaden then peeked out from the tree he was hiding behind and spotted the ape whom was still ripping at the trees trying to get closer to the last location of where Kaden was but it also seemed it had completely forgotten about Sky's presence.
'Does she need help?' Kaden wondered in his mind as he decided to start making his way back towards the ape but going in a circle-like way so he wouldn't be spotted by the ape and also end up on the backside of it.
Once he made it to the back of the Great Ape he looked around trying to spot Sky and quickly spotted her hanging on its upper neck and trying to inch her way upward. Kaden then tried to think of a way to get her attention but couldn't think of anything that might help. Looking to his right Kaden looked on the ground and saw some rocks and little pinecones laying on the ground and thought that this would be the worst idea he had thought of so far.
Picking up some pinecones and rocks Kaden got as close as he could to the ape while still having enough distance to get to the trees if necessary. He then grabbed one of the rocks and put it in his right hand aiming it towards Sky's back before chucking it straight at her.
*THUD*
The rock crashed into the back of the ape just missing Sky which made the ape turn quickly around in confusion. Seeing it start turning around Kaden rushed and hid behind one of the trees once more but now the ape was more vigilant and looking for Kaden closely. The eyes of the ape then gazed where Kaden was hiding so he hid his body quickly behind the tree so he wouldn't be spotted.
After waiting for a few moments Kaden peeked around the tree once more to see where the ape was and he found it soon after.
It was right in front of him.
So right in front of him that its face was only 5 feet away and its large pupils were staring straight into Kaden's.
"CRAP!" Kaden shouted turning around to try and run away but he stumbled slightly which gave the ape enough time to wrap its hands around Kaden and bring him towards its face. Kaden began to panic as he realized how bad he had messed up. He didn't know how the ape found him but that wasn't the problem now. The problem was that the ape now had him in its grasp.
'How do I get out of this?!' Kaden thought inside his mind as he began trying to think of some way to get out of there but then an idea hit him but it would only work under certain circumstances.
Looking up towards the shoulder of the ape Kaden saw the eyes of Sky watching and they were wide seeing that he had been captured but that wasn't the thing to focus on at the moment, "TOSS ME YOUR DAGGERS!" Kaden shouted towards Sky.
Hearing this she didn't hesitate and threw both of them towards him. The first one came within his grasp but he couldn't get his arms out from the grasp of the ape so it missed hitting the finger of the ape and sticking into the skin.
"ROARRR!" It yelped in pain.
Seeing that the human was causing it damage the ape wasted no more time and opened its mouth up. The ape then dropped Kaden straight inside the waiting mouth.
