Chapter 131: Vacation On The Beach
Chapter 131: Vacation On The Beach
Chapter 131: Vacation On The Beach
Just like when we arrived at the villa, we rode the buggy to the beach.
The Onjuku beach we visited before was crowded with holidaymakers, but this private beach, owned by the President, was free from prying eyes.
So, today, I decided to ditch my t-shirt and go out just in my swim trunks.
The Vice President, who had also trained his muscles to the extreme, did the same.
“Wait, why are you wearing a fundoshi1 instead of swim trunks?”
“You fool! Don’t you know that a fundoshi is both excellent underwear and a swimsuit!”
“…It’s embarrassing to look at, so go change immediately.”
“Okay.”
The Vice President, who didn’t seem to listen to me, rushed to the changing room as soon as the President instructed.
It seemed he had spare swim trunks.I naturally turned my eyes towards the President and Minami.
“So, what do you think, Kim Yu-seong? Your thoughts on my swimsuit?”
The President, who had changed into her swimsuit earlier than us, asked proudly while puffing out her chest.
*Purung! *(sound effect)
Although a bit short, she had a proportion not inferior to Rika, who was of British descent.
Aware that she would soon be a college student next year, her slightly bold black bikini oozed mature charm.
Forcing my gaze from drifting downward, I reflexively responded,
“You look beautiful, President.”
I expected her to laugh with her fan covering her mouth as usual, but instead, she blushed and murmured a shy “Th-thank you.”
What’s with this cute creature?
As I stared blankly at the President, Minami, in her pareo swimsuit, brushed her brown bobbed hair behind her ear and asked,
“Don’t you have anything to say to me?”
“Ah, Minami, you’re pretty too.”
“…It feels like I’m bowing down, but I’ll forgive you this time.”
After saying that, Minami took a step back behind the President.
A moment later, the Vice President, who had changed into trunk swimwear like me, burst out of the changing room.
“President! Have you been waiting long?!”
He was incredibly fast.
It seemed he took less than 5 minutes to change.
Though he looked skinny when clothed, he had an impressive physique once undressed.
Honestly, it was a mystery how those big muscles were covered by such a smaller area of clothing.
Well, if one seriously considered the settings in a love comedy universe, they’d be losing.
Anyway, once the Vice President had also changed into his swimwear, and all the Student Council members had gathered, the President stood in front of me, posed heroically, and declared confidently,
“Then! The 1st! The special intensive training of the Student Council shall begin!”
“Clap, clap, clap, clap.”
“Wowwwww!”
Minami, seemingly annoyed, made clapping sounds with her mouth instead of clapping her hands, while the Vice President enthusiastically cheered.
Though they were related, their behaviors were polar opposites.
“But what exactly are we doing? You said it’s a special intensive training, but I’m not clear on what exactly we’re enhancing.”
Raising my right hand to ask for more details, the President pointed at me with her fan and said,
“Good question, Secretary Kim Yu-seong. The aim of this special intensive training is to strengthen the bond among Student Council members! In other words, it’s a program to enhance friendship!”
Bonding? Friendship?
I was even more confused now.
“Anyway, Secretary Kim Yu-seong, just follow the program prepared by my capable subordinates, Shinji and Minami!”
“Y-yes…”
And just like that, the briefing on this training session passed quickly, and after we had all changed, we headed towards the large parasols and sunbeds prepared on the beach.
“Wow.”
Indeed, it’s what you’d expect from a private beach owned by a wealthy family.
Unlike crowded public beaches, the pristine natural environment of Okinawa’s beaches made it feel like we were vacationing abroad.
The white sandy beaches, crescent-shaped bays, emerald sea, and white waves.
I hate to keep comparing, but this place was incomparably more beautiful than the Onjuku beach we visited last week.
“Since it’s the first day of the retreat, you have free time until dinner. Everything you need for swimming is prepared, so enjoy to your heart’s content.”
Minami said this while pointing to the white huts built along the shore.
In front of them were flippers, life jackets, tubes, shovels, and buckets for building sandcastles, snorkeling sets, and even rubber boats.
Everything except the kitchen sink seemed to be prepared.
And so began our leisurely free time on the private beach.
Each of us in the Student Council enjoyed the beach in our own way.
Like Minami, who, instead of going into the water, started building a giant sandcastle on the beach with a shovel and bucket.
Or the Vice President, who dived with traditional bamboo-made snorkeling gear instead of plastic.
Or the President, who sat under a parasol on a sunbed, quietly reading while sipping a multicolored cocktail.
Indeed, each member of the Student Council was brimming with personality.
Unlike them, I swam in the sea, astonished by its incredible cleanliness.
The water was so clear that, standing still, I could see the movements of marine creatures below.
Observing octopuses crawling on the bottom, colorful tropical fish, corals, and clams, I started feeling short of breath and surfaced.
“Phew!”
I didn’t time it, but I must have been diving for about 3-4 minutes, distracted by the sights.
Maybe I should have come fully equipped for snorkeling, like the Vice President.
After getting out of the water, I walked towards the hut to pick up the gear I had seen earlier, and couldn’t help but smile upon seeing the President, who had fallen asleep, unaware of the world around her.
Even the almighty President couldn’t avoid the fatigue of the trip, sleeping soundly with a book covering her face.
Careful not to wake her, I tiptoed past the parasol and picked up the snorkeling gear from the front of the hut.
As I was about to head back to the sea, Minami, who was busy building a sandcastle, asked,
“Aren’t you going to cover her?”
“I won’t!”
I whispered as quietly as I could.
Then, Minami, staring at me, spoke in a monotone voice,
“Pathetic, cowardly, stupid, a virgin who can’t take what’s given.”
“…Even if you list it out, it’s not like that.”
“That’s a pity.”
Minami, usually quick to give up on seemingly impossible tasks, muttered this and then thrust her wrist into the nearly completed sandcastle.
Once a plausible tunnel appeared where her hand had passed, she asked, holding a shovel and looking proud,
“How is it? My creation.”
“It’s great.”
“I made it, so that’s a given.”
Not as much as the President, but Minami, quite full of self-love, said this and glanced at the President, who was sound asleep on a sunbed.
“She must be tired from the excitement of this trip keeping her up last night. Let’s let her sleep comfortably for an hour or two.”
“Okay.”
Agreeing with Minami, I headed back to the sea to enjoy snorkeling, as originally intended.
About an hour later, the President woke up.
“Minami! Why didn’t you wake me up?!”
“You were sleeping so soundly, Miss…”
“Hmph!”
Seemingly at a loss for words after hearing that she didn’t want to disturb her sleep, the President grumbled and fell silent.
Anyway, since we had lunch and came out late, the sunset was slowly approaching on the beach.
It would take a bit longer for the sunset, but since it would be very dark by the time we returned to the villa, we decided to head back.
“Don’t be too upset, President. It’s not the only day for this.”
“That’s true, but…”
The President, who seemed upset that her rare free time had been spent sleeping, softened her expression a bit after hearing my consolation.
Anyway, upon returning to the mansion in the same four-seater buggy we came in, one of the two maids we saw earlier greeted us.
“Have you returned?”
“Oh, yes. You’re Miyabi, right?”
“Yes. Many people get confused when they first see us sisters, but you recognized me well.”
“Well, your faces are the same, but your hairstyles are different.”
When I answered like that, Miyabi, the maid of the mansion, slightly touched her hair as if it mattered to her.
“Anyway, dinner is already prepared, so I will guide you straight to the dining room.”
She said so and started walking ahead.
We quietly followed her.
Dinner ended around 7 p.m.
After receiving a dinner that seemed to be the work of the mansion’s chef, just like lunch, we returned to our rooms to relieve the fatigue of the day’s swimming.
Although I had quickly washed off the salt in the shower room of the hut, I felt a bit sticky, so I planned to take a bath in the bathtub attached to my room.
So, as I was about to unpack my toiletries and underwear from my bag…
Knock, knock!
Someone knocked on my door.
“Is Kim Yu-seong in there?”
It was the Vice President’s voice.
I put down the bag I was holding and opened the door.
“What’s up all of a sudden, Vice President?”
Then, the Vice President standing at the door, pushing up his glasses, said,
“It’s nothing much, but we plan to go out to sea on a yacht tomorrow morning. So I came to tell you to wake up early.”
“A yacht?”
“The President regretted not being able to enjoy the beach because she was sleeping, so Minami and I secretly asked Mr. Meguro to prepare it.”
“I see.”
Indeed, the rich were on a different scale—a private island, a private beach, and now a boat ride on a yacht.
It felt like a luxury.
After saying his piece, the Vice President returned to his room.
Left alone in my room, I entered the bathroom to take a bath, vaguely imagining the yacht we would board the next day.
