Chapter 73: Listing Remarks

Chapter 73: Listing Remarks

My book will be shelved tomorrow on the 1st!

Thank you for the support from readers, Lords and Ladies, I am truly grateful. For a noob like me to achieve this with my first book, it feels just like a dream.

Because the results are so good for me, I've been writing with trembling hands, fearing that something might not be quite right and that I'll ruin it. The pressure has really pushed me to the brink, I feel like I'm on the verge of depression.

But luckily, it's finally time to go on the shelf. It's a matter of life and death this time, so I earnestly ask every reader, Lord and Lady, for a first subscription. This is really very important, not only for the arrangement of future recommendations but also for the morale of the author. If my mindset collapses, the quality will suffer, I'm truly begging you.

Next, about the updates.

Even among authors known for their slow updates, I reckon I might still be in contention for 'the slowest of them all.' A daily grind of five hundred words per hour, occasionally pulling out eight hundred by some miracle, it's hard to bear.

Even so, I'll try to buckle up after it goes on the shelf, ensuring at least three updates, aiming for four (6000 to 8000 words) while trying to maintain quality.

I've said before that for every 100 additional votes before going on the shelf, I would release one extra chapter on top of the regular updates. When I said that, it was 758 votes, and now I see it has surpassed 2000 votes, you guys are amazing...

Let's just count it as 2100 votes. So 2100 minus 700 equals 1400, which means I currently owe 14 chapters... Now I am beginning to sweat profusely.

I hope that when it's shelved on the 1st tomorrow, everyone will cast their monthly votes for me, please, I beg you!

...

Coming to Qidian to write has been incredibly stressful; this place houses what can be called the most professional and discerning readers in the entire online literature community. I've personally witnessed countless authors come to prove themselves only to fall with barely a whisper, and it's truly intimidating.

But many people have told me that writing on Qidian is similar to chasing after a girl. If you put her on a pedestal, you'll never win her over; you have to keep calm and just write what you're good at. Don't try to purposefully cater to what you 'imagine the Qidian readers prefer,' otherwise, you're more likely to falter.

Yet, when I truly started writing, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation like that felt in the presence of a goddess, which made my writing less than ideal.

Especially when I messed up a plot before, leading to fluctuating readership, my confidence just completely crashed...

Then I could only forcibly reassure myself, treating each chapter as if it were the last and telling myself not to fear a collapse in performance. I convinced myself to consider all readers as indescribable outer gods, accepting thunder and rain as blessings and peacefully accepting fate's decree. After all, no matter what the results, the writing must continue.

Somehow, I managed to hang on with some self-PUA until now...

Promise me, even if you're going to nurture the book, you'll pick up a first subscription before you do, okay?

Thanks to my editor Canaan; Director Nan who was patient with me pestering him daily about the data, always explaining things clearly to me, and offering many incisive suggestions – where in the world could one find such wonderful editors!

It's not flattery really, these are good editors.

Thanks to the chapter promotion from Director Dan, the author of "The Final Priesthood"; the book is really good. I originally wanted to imitate Director Dan and write a 'muscle-bound righteous bro' book, but I lost my way halfway and completely missed the mark.

Thanks to the chapter promotion from Director Xue, the author of "My Superpowers Refresh Weekly"; Holy Heart Language, forever divine.

Thanks to the chapter promotion from Master Qingquan, the author of "The King of Beast Tamers." "Unscientific Beast Taming" is great, and I don't know how this book will fare, I'll have to wait and see when I have time.

Thanks to my operations officer, Bai, who really helped me a lot. The book's current achievement is largely due to him. Like me, he's been constantly injected with my negative energy about the performance, but he's always full to the brim.

Being a newbie, I haven't joined a single Qidian group, nor do I have any connections; it's all about relying on editors to help get some back-scratching done...

I won't mention matters of daily life; I suppose no one really wants to hear a sob story.

There's nothing more to say, so here's to wishing Lords and Ladies eternal youth and everlasting life.

Please, I am begging for a first subscription and monthly votes!!!
