I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History

Chapter 405

Chapter 405

An exchange?

Kushana would not have an overwhelming advantage if my wishes had already been granted.

What if she said she wanted my heart? No, but I was a villainess. I will not give her my heart so easily.

I waited for Kushana’s next words while preparing myself for such a situation.

“Alicia, I want to borrow your magic.”

…Was that all?

I couldn’t help but open my mouth wide when Kushana spoke to me with a serious and convincing look on her face.

Should my magic be the price for Maddie’s magic?

It was true that magic was precious in this country, but for me, it was a common thing to have magical power. Of course Kushana would know that.

I uttered my words, unable to hide my surprise.

“Wasn’t Maddie, or rather Shati, much more valuable than me and Duke-sama’s magic?”

“That’s just a flower. They simply have more special nutrients than other plants.”

Well, that’s true, but!

But how could I say such a thing about a sacred flower that they were so desperately trying to protect?

I think I was more perplexed than the people of this village, even though I was the one who took Maddie, and I almost asked her aloud, “Are you sure about that?”.

I had grasped that Kushana was someone who thought logically and was not driven by emotion, but I had never thought she would be this easy to deal with….

“What we need now is your magic power.”

Kushana’s serious red eyes caught mine. I glanced toward Sheena, wondering how she felt about Kushana’s decision to let go of Maddie.

As it wouldn’t feel good whether she blamed me or Kushana furiously afterward, I would like to get some level of consent.

“It’s okay, it’s the queen’s decision.”

Sheena said this in a calm tone without showing a single expression on her face.

I realized that Kushana was really an excellent queen who was popular and highly respected by the people. I almost envied her for gaining the trust of all of her people.

Kushana was not a villainess at all, but she was not a saint either. She was the reigning queen of a small country in the forest.

I could see why everyone was so fascinated with her. If I had someone like her around me, I might want to follow her as well.

“I would be happy to assist you if it’s alright with you.”

I bowed slowly and gracefully to Kushana.

The only value I hold here was my ability to use magic. I wouldn’t mind being used for that value. But I wouldn’t like to be taken advantage of as a villainess.

I bowed my head and added.

“But I also have a condition.”

“You’ve already got what you wanted.”

I looked up to see Kushana staring straight at me with a dubious expression on her face.

“No, that’s not enough. A Villainess must be greedy.”

Paying no mind to Kushana’s pressure, I answered her with a smile.
