Chapter 950

Famous international designers didn’t come cheap, but Trent’s fees were surprisingly affordable. Cornelia was certain Marcus must have secretly covered some of the costs, which was why her home renovation ended up so satisfactory.

“I didn’t put in much Marcus said.

“How much is not much?” Cornelia asked

“Just a few hundred grand” Marcus replied.

“Just a few hundred grand, my foot Cornelia fumed. Well, then you’ve invested in this house too. Feel free to crash here anytime.”

You mean I wasn’t part of your plan before?” Marcus asked.

“Not at first Cornelia admitted, “But you were, from the moment I decided to seriously date Jeremy.”

This answer seemed to satisfy Marcus, “So, can I live there with you?”

“Sure, if you don’t mind the space” She said, remembering he’d also bought a large flat in the same complex.

He’d said he bought the place because his wife liked the area. Turned out, he’d been preparing everything for her from that point. She just didn’t know back then that she was the wife he mentioned.

Half an hour later, they arrived at Lakeview Estates.

Marcus had arranged for Natalia to be taken to Cornelia’s new home. The second bedroom was decorated for Cornelia’s grandma. Cornelia was reluctant to have Natalia stay in her master bedroom

but Marcus was also there. If she gave up her room, Marcus would have to share the second room with her, which seemed inappropriate.

After some thought, Cornelia decided to put Natalia in the second room.

Dr. Lester was already there waiting. Upon their arrival, he gave Natalia a full check–up. Afterward, he said, “Ms. Reese is in good health, just drugged with sleeping pills. Once the effects wear off, she should be fine.”

“Thank you, Dr. Lester!” Cornelia said.

I’m just doing what Marc paid me for, no need to thank me.” He replied.

“Safe travels then, I need to stay with Natalia.” Cornelia said.

“No need to see me out, you’re busy.” Dr. Lester said as he left the bedroom. He glanced at Marcus in the living room, “Marc, you don’t look so great. Do you need me to check you out too?”

“No need.” Marcus replied, attributing his rough appearance to two nights without sleep, thinking he just needed to catch some sleep later.

Marcus had pulled all–nighters before, but never looked this worn out. Dr. Lester tried to convince him, “Marc, apart from your sister and grandma, you have Cornelia to take care of Cornelia’s grandma just passed away. If something happens to you, what would she do? If not for yourself, consider Cornelia,”

As Dr. Lester was speaking, Cornelia, who had been with Natalia in the room, suddenly rushed out, “Dr. Lester, don’t leave just yet, I need another favor.”

Her eyes were red–rimmed, as if she was about to burst into tears.
