Chapter 116: The Astral Leap's Prelude
Chapter 116: The Astral Leap's Prelude
.....
In a cave that was dug into Fallen Immortal Mountain many eras ago, a man with long crimson-colored hair and eyes, possessing a face that could only be described as something from a painting, was sitting in the same lotus position that he had been in for many years.
"The time is almost here…"
Azmodeus had his divine sense travel out to a far off battlefield where many powerful masters were fighting each other, unleashing spells capable of splitting quadrillions of miles of land with mere swipes of their hands.
Luckily for the mainland, they were fighting above the Boundless Ocean on the western side of the Boundless Archipelago; however, it wasn't this violent battle between dozens of Apex forces that attracted the Crimson Devil Lord's attention.
It was instead the slight energy fluctuations that were crackling in the sky above where the Apex forces were duking it out.
"That is the prelude energy signature for the Astral Leap rift, and from what Bing Nu Shen has told me before, it should only be a few weeks away from fully opening, allowing anybody with the necessary metal to shatter the world barrier and commence the Astral Leap."
Azmodeus observed the rift trying to form for a few seconds before he turned his gaze down and saw countless Tribulation Transcendance and Mahayana Realm figures dishing out attacks that cleaved many sections of the Boundless Ocean into chasms that stretched on for who knew how many miles.
Should I interfere in this battle…?
He looked at the Sect Leader's side of the Ice Goddess Sect fight off those on the Grand Elder's side, as he thought about his next course of action.
However, such brooding ended in a split second after the sight of an injured Bing Nu Shen came into view.
She was fighting the Grand Elder of the Ice Goddess Sect and was originally winning due to all the Heaven-Ranked Pills that she consumed, but in the end, the Grand Elder was over 40 thousand years old and was able to enter the 1st Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm just recently.
It was the age gap between the two that made it possible for the equally talented Grand Elder to achieve the 1st Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm at the same time as the Sect Leader, who was loaded up on her sugar daddy's pill supply.
However, even though they were both in the 1st Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm, the Grand Elder had been hiding her breakthrough for a while and was thus far farther into the realm than where the Sect Leader was.
On a side note, one might wonder how either of them was able to breakthrough even with the limits placed on Prometheus.
And normally, it would be impossible to break through to the Lunar Ascendancy Realm. That was, unless you just so happened to use an Astral Leap's opening to your advantage…
If one timed it right, then they could let the Qi from the Starry Expanse flow into their bodies through the rift's formation.
However, not everything was good about breaking through this way, as one would need to pass the Astral Leap within the next one thousand years if they wished to stay alive with Starry Qi coursing throughout their low-mortal-level bodies.
But for one to pass the Astral Leap in the 1st Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm was… nearly impossible…
For example, the Grand Elder of the Ice Goddess Sect had been secretly trying to pass the Astral Leap for the past 900 years, and every single time, she came out severely injured, half an inch away from death.
After all, the Astral Leap was meant to be taken by the talented, which made the original 1st Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm requirement for Half-Step Lunar Ascendancy Realm Experts increase to the 2nd Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm for 1st Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm Masters.
It was these minimum requirements that caused severe backlash damage to anybody attempting the Astral Leap if they weren't able to shatter the world barrier.
And in the case of the Ice Goddess Sect's Grand Elder, she was close to having her life force nearly drained to depletion, not only because of her failed attempts at commencing the Astral Leap but also because the millennium mark was almost there for her…
This was her last chance to succeed, for if she didn't, then she would shrivel up into a corpse within the next few years!
However, little did she know that the Crimson Devil Lord had already put her on his agenda board for 'Things to do before making the Astral Leap'.
I have already figured out a way to sneak the Fallen Immortal Mountain unnoticed by disguising it as a unique treasured weapon, and the Dragon Land Alliance is on their last legs with the work of three Primordial Essence Clones causing mayhem throughout the sextillions of miles that make up their assortment of islands.
My master has already been located and will be rescued as soon as those few Lunar Ascendancy Realm Experts understand that there's a time to give up their futile resistance…
Azmodeus had massacred millions of Lunar Ascendancy Realm dragon descendants of the Dragon Land Alliance over the last dozen years, all of whom were within their '1000-year Astral Leap Ascension time limit'.
There were many such experts spread throughout the Boundless Archipelago, as countless powerful organizations had amassed forces that went beyond anything thought to be possible on the Northern Spirits Continent.
One might wonder how so many Lunar Ascendancy Realm Experts had sprouted up in places that weren't underneath an Astral Leap location, but the truth was that there were many more Astral Leap rifts spread throughout all of the Boundless Archipelago and even the Endless Oceans that surrounded everything on Prometheus.
It was because of these rifts that there were likely quadrillions of Lunar Ascendancy Realm Experts lingering around the expansive lands and oceans of Prometheus.
Azmodeus himself had exterminated a few million of them, so it wouldn't be much of a surprise if there really were quadrillions of them hiding behind every rock, pebble, and organization in the infinitely stretching world.
But for the Anomaly, every single one of these 'All-Mighty Gods' had become nothing more than glorified loot bags, as all of them gave system notifications like:
*Ding!* *You have killed a 1st Stage Lunar Ascendancy Realm Dragon Lord from the Dragon Land Alliance.*
*Ding!* *You have obtained 300 Octillion Evolution Essence!*
