Chapter 178: Astral Plane's History
Chapter 178: Astral Plane's History
...…
One of the so-called 'God's of the Astral Plane' was the Goddess of Light, a goddess who was seen as nothing short of a Queen on everything east of the Infinite Board.
On the other hand, the God of Darkness was viewed as the 'Evil' aspect of the Astral Plane and was also the one who ruled over everything west of the centerline. Which included the Vermillion Phoenix Providence that lay at the edge of the two territories.
In fact, one of the main reasons that the two single-leafed countries were always at each other's throats was mainly attributed to the fact that one came from a 'Red' square, while the other came from a 'Black' square.
With the tic-tac-to analogy, one must understand that the countless number of territories, kingdoms, empires, and sects ranked from a 'Single Leaf' to a 'Triple Leaf' land typically had an entire Square to themselves. This effectively made room for countless sovereignties, all of which were semi-subservient to either the 'Empire of Light' or the 'Empire of Darkness'.
Furthermore, each of these factions stayed on their sides of the scale, with all 'Red Squares' gathered on exactly one half of the board and all 'Black Squares' covering up the other half.
Which was all to say that the Single-Leafed Kingdom of Azura and the Single-Leafed Vermillion Phoenix Providence were both on the very edge of the middle of the board.
Now, with all this in mind, one might wonder how the Duke's daughter—who barely managed to get away with a teleportation formation—should be expected to escape the clutches of a Goddess believed to be omnipotent.
Well, the answer to this question was that there was no escape…
To be completely candid, the Goddess of Light could have long since snatched away Jia Lei and done as she wished with her.
But in her eyes, there was no fun in doing something that boring, so the Goddess opted to give the mouse a chance to run, find allies, or whatever else she planned to do. Knowing full well that the mouse would get caught in the end…
However, there was one way that not many knew about—a way in which one could escape the pursuit of one of the two God's—the 'Barrier of the Astral Plane'!
If one was able to successfully pass the barrier and enter the opposing side of the board, then they would not only have their 'gps tracker' shrouded under the influence of the other God, but they would also obtain a second chance—a chance to live a different life.
This was what Azmodeus had in mind when it came to dodging the nigh-omnipotent gaze of the Goddess of Light—a Goddess who he could feel smirking at him even at this moment in time.
Since you wish to play a game of chase, let's play…
Following these thoughts, he stared up at the bright, luminescent moon while talking to the King and Duke's.
Upon giving verbal confirmation that he would marry all their daughters and take care of them until the day they died, he saw them sign the contract they promised they would.
After which, he walked away from the gathered Dukes with a solemn shadow, thinking about many things that could make or break his future.
This Goddess is one who considers herself above all else, and since she's so keen on producing some 'entertainment', I shall make sure to maximize her enjoyment, all free of charge…
A smile containing an indescribable number of emotions emerged on his expressionless face. But before it could make itself fully known, a feminine voice took him out of his reverie:
"Hey, Amon! You still remember what we discussed before those dumb vixens got to the party, don't you?"
Jia Lei was waiting around a corner with her hands behind her back and a mischievous grin on her face. She was eemingly aware of the fact that her father had been talking to him on their balcony.
"..."
Azmodeus blankly stared at the cheeky woman before continuing his walk, ignoring her existence.
"Y-You big meanie! Don't treat me like thin air!" Jia Lei quickly caught up to his receding figure while berating him with a small pout.
Azmodeus quickly realized that he wouldn't be able to escape that girl so easily…
He heaved a sigh before saying, "I'm not ignoring you. It's just that I have something on my mind—something important."
"More important than me…?" Jia Lei inquired with large puppy-dog eyes.
"Yes."
"..."
"..."
They looked at each other for a moment before Azmodeus continued his stroll, attempting to avoid the other girls who were actively searching for him.
Jia Lei was taken out of her stupor with the sight of her idol once again leaving her behind. She forgot everything he said and hollered, "Hey, don't go so fast! I'm coming!"
This woman can't catch a hint worth a damn…
Azmodeus just knew that the night would be a long one, and he was proven right when the other troublesome women eventually found them.
But regardless of how many princesses or noble women he had to dodge like the plague, the night ultimately came to an end. And with the close of the party, the Dukes and King came by one last time to inform him of their end of the bargain coming to fruition within the next three days.
It was with this information that Azmodeus left the party after whispering sweet nothings into the ears of all the ladies who decided to come for his heart.
Since they wished to offer benefits on a golden platter, who was he to deny them?
In fact, he even promised Jia Lie, Nuan He, and the rest of the Duke's daughters that he would come back to sweep them up off their feet and marry them within no time.
Of course, this was the truth, with the only lie being that he had no intention of marrying any of them…
One might wonder how he planned to get past the agreements of his deal with the rulers of the kingdom, but the answer was quite simple.
He would fool them all and would keep on doing it until he either died or came out with every single benefit that could be obtained!
