Chapter 218: A Large Obstacle
Chapter 218: A Large Obstacle
...…
After nearly 10 years of cultivating inside his cave abode while on the brink of death, Azmodeus finally made it through the bottleneck, enabling him to successfully breakthrough into the Late Moonlit Path Realm!
Along with such a breakthrough was a tremendous improvement to his Battle Power, as the Dwarf Star Transformation Realm was utterly outclassed. And in its place came a Battle Power in the Early Star Radiance Realm!
One might think that this would be sufficient for Azmodeus. But, in the end, he was a loot goblin above all else.
'Loot' was a broad term that could be interpreted in many different ways, but for him, it just meant that he would in no way tolerate any benefits escaping his grasps.
For no matter if he had to go to hell and back, the benefits of every situation would always be his!
It was with this very mindset that, immediately following his Qi Cultivation Realm breakthrough, he went straight into improving his Physical Existence into the Starshire Rank…
Azmodeus would not settle until all immediate benefits were his, and with the momentum from his Qi cultivation breakthrough still active, the breakthrough process for his Physical Existence was made far easier.
Although he still ended up as a bloody pile of meat and bones after commencing his Physical Existence rank-up as well, it was all worth it in the end.
After all, at the end of a 5-year time skip, his body was completely transformed from its previous dull color into a far more resplendent starry shade, making him resemble a certain sparkly vampire…
Of course, Azmodeus made sure to tone down the shine upon realizing the similarity. But that wasn't the main point of this breakthrough, as it was instead the fact that…
*Ding!* *Your Physical Existence Rank has advanced from the Half-Step Starshire Rank into the Early Starshire Rank!*
*Ding!* *With this breakthrough, your Battle Power has tremendously improved, allowing it to advance from the 'Initial Stages of the Early Star Radiance Realm' to the 'Middle Stages of the Early Star Radiance Realm'*
Azmodeus had no clue if this drastic increase in strength was enough for him to overcome the two gods, but with Sanguinary in hand, there was no doubt that he could give them a good fight.
And a good fight was good enough for him. After all, he could always come back from the dead and fight on for Infinity…
He cared not if he lost, and he couldn't give a damn how many resources he had to spend in order to keep bringing himself back to life, for in the end, he would win…
And with every win came an immense amount of benefits—benefits far exceeding what was used up in acquiring them.
It was this very line of thinking that caused Azmodeus to no longer fear death, as what was the point in fearing something that would be inevitable either way?
There was no point, and he understood this, which was why he instantly set out for the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness, not even bothering to tell the women of the Crimson Dimension.
They would eventually find out either way, and with the main half of his primary existence still cultivating inside the cave, there truly was no need.
Of course, they would not think about it like this, but they were just moochers, and moochers held no sway over the one they were mooching off of!
Obviously, they weren't entirely resource consuming leeches, but in Azmodues's mind, they might as well have been…
Nevertheless, forgetting the topic of mooching, the Crimson Emperor discreetly left his Heaven Exploding Cave Abode with one half of his Primary Existence, a Primordial Essence Clone, and a number of Primordial Respawner's.
He made sure to grab just enough Primordial Respawner's and Checkpointer's to be able to last him quite a while, as they eventually ran out of juice after a few million deaths.
And though the limit of this 'item death' was constantly increasing with the countless profession improvements being made, it still wasn't at the level where only one would be sufficient for such a large, likely drawn-out bossfight.
Azmodeus was soon proven to be correct in his speculations, as a truly disastrous monster prevented his advance into the deeper parts of the Holy Capital of Light…
...
A total of 20 years passed by in the outside world, and it took 18 years for Azmodeus to reach the boundlessly expansive Capital of Light from his Heaven Exploding Sect.
Though he may have been traveling at a speed surpassing all reason, it was undeniable that the distance between the two vastly different places was nigh insurmountable.
Furthermore, it likely would've taken longer if he hadn't used all of his footwork techniques and Traits in conjunction, effectively enabling him to exceed any past notions of speed.
However, upon making it to the grandiose front gates of the Capital of Light, he quickly came to realize that there would be one more obstacle before he made it into the towering, heaven-like city...
The city itself possessed towers that stretched upward for infinity, as well as clouds that enveloped the countless shiny castles and towers like a grand white cover.
There were even a number of mythical beasts soaring through the blue skies—beasts that looked eerily similar to Kun Peng.
However, that wasn't even the end of it, as there were unicorns and dragon hybrids, all in possession of slight bloodline traces of the real deals. Additionally, if their sizes were any indication of their authenticity, then any mortal would open their eyes wide and naturally assume they were in the presence of living gods!
Of course, none of these mythical creatures were the real deal.
Although they were far larger than universes and carried around a bearing beyond otherworldly, they were merely of the Middle to Late Amethyst Rank.
Their strength was likely no greater than the foot guards that stood watch on the Emonius Continent.
And then there was the fact that one beast—a beast mightier than them all—took all the limelight and made it his as he stared down at a tiny crimson-eyed human.
It fixated on a human who originally thought he would go unnoticed until eventually making it to where the Goddess of Light resided…
But boy was Azmodeus wrong in that assumption...
