Chapter 278: Armageddon
Chapter 278: Armageddon
...…
While in the midst of a fierce battle with five powerful Alpha Realm Elemental Nation paradigms, a crimson-feather Harpy suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"Ha!? What is this I see!? Has the birdie finally decided to surrender!?" A Fire Nation Alpha Realm Cultivator remarked, his face morphing from one of exhaustion to snarkiness.
"It seems that our joint attacks did a number on him! This is good news indeed!" A different Alpha Realm Expert chided in. He was from the Ice Empire and had even lost a leg and an arm in the most recent bout.
"Are you prepared to die!?"
"You shall feel our wrath, you dumb pigeon!"
"..."
Azmodeus's Primordial Essence Clone stood in still motion, completely ignoring the plethora of domineering attacks honing in on him. His gaze was instead fixated on the Harpy Commander—an Alpha Realm Master that had already determined his fate.
"It seems like all has gone according to the greed of life… For those who sit beneath the sun and bask in its glory, a choice must be made," muttered Azmodeus, his gaze glossed over as he felt something in his '9.9%' Nourishment Rate start to break.
"What was that, you two winged freak!? Are you not prepared enough to take on the mighty Azure Demon Dragon attack of this Lord!?" The Fire Nation Expert heartily laughed as he sent his enormous fist barreling in the Crimson Harpy's direction.
WAAAA!
His aura enveloped the earth, possessing extraordinary amounts of might!
He would turn the pigeon into a mush of meat!
However, contrary to his expectations, with the release of an ancient sigh, his aura dispersed, and his body turned to ash.
He died not knowing that death was already right there in front of him…
It was a death that all other Alpha Realm Experts shared not even half an instant later.
The whole battlefield went silent as the face of the Crimson Harpy morphed into something far more sinister—far more unforgiving. This was the face of the devil, and it would also be the undoing of this silly war.
"My world… Pandora… This world was meant to be a place where all could flourish… It was meant to show me that some life was worth keeping."
A voice beyond description resonated within every fiber of all who lived in Pandora. From the tree frogs in the swampy Forest Region all the way to the dinosaurs of the Lava Region. No matter who or what it was, they heard the voice of their God.
"The Crimson God!" They shouted, that name imprinted into the very atoms that constructed them.
"Has he come once more!? To shed upon us his divine light!?"
"With the world in the middle of the 1st Great World War, will he be the one to bring us to salvation!?"
Everyone waited with baited breath—they waited for the next words to be spoken from the mouth of the Crimson God.
"For those who lived this life, I am sorry. I am sorry that you lived without purpose—that you lived for the sake of living…"
God's antiquated voice once more echoed throughout time and space. His words, filled with unknown intent, left the various inhabitants of Pandora in a state of disarray.
They had no idea what God was trying to tell them! Was he abandoning them!? Was he going to let them all die!?
One man in particular—the oldest man in the world—was the most curious about what his Creator had to say.
Was he going to leave them for good?
This thought floated to the surface of Harkath's mind as he stopped his breakthrough into the Peak Alpha Realm. He wished to know what his master would tell them.
However, what one anticipated to happen rarely turned out to be what would actually happen…
"This World… It was meant to be something better—something greater."
OOOM!
Under the astonished eyes of the Harpy Commander and his subordinates, the Crimson Harpy's feathers started to fall off. It started with one, then two and three, until there was no longer anything covering his humanoid figure.
Just as all expected him to look like a naked chicken, the moment they glanced at him, they realized something monumental…
"The Crimson God…?" The Harpy Commander muttered with his mouth agape.
He was staring at an existence who possessed an appearance beyond the concept of asthetics. A man who wore a robe so bright and dazzling that even the sun paled in comparison. And on the back of this God-like existence, there sat a crimson-red backdrop halo, only adding to the overall grandiosity of this icon.
If the Crimson Harpy was who they thought he was, and they said what they did… Well…
"Armageddon."
God's voice reverberated through every inch of Pandora, and with the utterance of this word, everyone immediately knew what was about to occur.
"We're all going to die…"
"Life… So that is what God meant…"
"This existence of mine? What was even the point…?"
"For there to be peace, there must first be a great reckoning…"
Everyone in existence had varying reactions to the announcement made by their God. But the one who had the biggest reactionof them all was none other than Harkath…
"God… Master… So this was the path you decided to take…"
As he shrank back into his own skin, his aura was reduced to but a mere fraction of what it once was. He then contemplated the purpose of life…
He wished to know what the point of living was!
Why was he created!? Why was he put here if he was just going to die in the end!?
For what reason was he not allowed to strive for the same peak that his master and creator strived for!?!?
"Why!!!??" He bellowed out in frustration, his body falling to the ground surface.
CRACKA—BOOOOOM!
His body weight caused the Cosmos-sized monster beast beneath him to explode into a gory firework of blood and guts!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Harkath's universe-sized figure shot through the boundless expanse of void within a corner of Pandora. He blazed toward the ground, his presence one of immense frustration and anger.
He couldn't understand! He refused to understand!
WHY!?!?
