Chapter 94: Jue Mei
Chapter 94: Jue Mei
...….
"...You don't even have an awareness of a low level Reality Scale?? And the Mahayana Realm… That is so low… How could I be sent down to such a lower plane of existence…?"
The cat seemed to become a little despondent as she looked up at the skyless sky with a dull color to her gaze.
"How could I have fallen so low…? I wasn't even able to start out in the higher planes of a Mortal Realm…"
She eventually turned her slitted eyes back down toward the human as she asked, "And what is your cultivation?"
"You're not going to ask my name first?"
"Your name is irrelevant, but since you are so insistent on pleasantries, I ask you, what is your name?"
"Mhmm, better. My name is Azmodeus. What is yours?"
He stared into those dazzling blues of hers, as he could feel something inexplicable swirling around inside them.
Nevertheless, he waited for an answer, which he got after she thought the matter over for a second:
"My name is something that you wouldn't be able to pronounce."
"Try me," Azmodeus said.
"...Very well… ®&$+*;"!©]|??€¥~§"
"How much of that could you understand?" She inquired with a slight grin.
Azmodeus looked at the smirking kitty as he sighed and asked, "Do you have anything that I can call you by? Something simpler…"
"I do, but based on the unusualness of your name, I don't think it really fits the current civilization," she responded while licking at her dangerously sharp claws.
"Oh, well, you don't need to worry about that, for my name is an outlier and doesn't represent the world norm."
"An outlier, huh…"
The cat seemed to show a little more emotion after hearing that term, as her eyes glossed over for a moment before she said, "My name is Jue Mei, and I am also known as the Supreme Ruler of the Seven Astral Divines."
"The seven what?" Azmodeus questioned with a perplexed tone.
He tried pronouncing the full name inside his head; however, in less than an instant, he completely forgot what he was thinking about.
"Don't bother yourself with the matter that you don't remember anymore. I forgot about the restrictions on lowest-level existence's, so just tell me what it is that you do here," Jue Mei said.
Azmodeus looked at the kitty on his shoulder with a confused expression before eventually snapping out of it as he muttered, "Jue Mei is quite the conceited name, is it not…"
"What was that?"
"Nothing. As for your question, all I do is cultivate and a little pest control here and there," he replied with his gaze focused on a far-off land—a land where his Mirror Mirage's were currently cornering an Inner Deacon that had the gall to attack them in broad daylight.
Death Beams were being set off in quick succession, as the quakes caused by the massive explosions could even be felt from the Heaven Exploding Cabe Abode.
Jue Mei followed his gaze; however, without any of her strength, she was utterly helpless in well… everything...
This fact annoyed her a little bit as she used her paws to cup the human's cheeks before saying, "Stop looking away from me. I don't like being ignored."
"...I see… So are you really not going to tell me anything about yourself?" Azmodeus asked after a moment of looking into those serene yet deadly eyes of hers.
"I would tell you, but your head would likely explode, and I would prefer not to be dirtied with blood this early on," Jue Mei responded with an apathetic tone as she spoke with complete seriousness.
"Is that so…"
Azmodeus was beginning to think that he was being played the fool by a talking alien cat, but in the end, he decided to leave the matter aside for now as he walked in the direction of his cultivation mat.
"I assume you have no problem with the passing of time, Miss Supreme Beauty?" He asked with an amused expression as he sat down in a lotus position, preparing to begin his cultivation session.
"..." Jue Mei heard the question and couldn't help but recall her comprehensions of the concept of time.
After a few milliseconds of thinking, she found out that she was left with an empty mind on the subject of time.
Nonetheless, she answered his question with a voice that seemed to contain the profundities of cosmic laws beyond description, as she said, "You have no idea what I know of the passing of time."
"You could've just said yes, but this works as well, for I prefer to cultivate in peace for extended periods, and if you wish to, there is a spare cultivation mat over there that should help in improving your non-existent cultivation base."
Azmodeus had his finger pointed toward a mat with ancient tapestries hanging off the side of it.
This was the mat that was left as a spare for the two other residents of his cave abode, but now it had a new potential user.
And just as he expected, the white cat leaped off his shoulder before finding her way to the comfy cultivation mat.
After which, she curled up into a snuggly ball and began a unique cultivation session that Azmodeus wasn't familiar with.
"How are you able to cultivate while lying down and with your mind somewhere else entirely?" He asked with a puzzled tone.
Not once in his life had he ever seen someone cultivate in such a way. And if it weren't for the Qi swarming toward her in massive amounts, then he would've doubted whether or not she was even cultivating to begin with…
However, his queries would soon be answered, as Jue Mei turned her lethargic gaze upward before waiting a few hours to answer—a few hours where she simply stared at him while constantly gathering Qi, and after the energy around her body reached a sufficient point, it all dispersed at once, resulting in her breaking through into the Qi Condensation Realm.
Following this ridiculously fast breakthrough speed, she conjured up a booklet from thin air using her memory of something profound, as she tossed the book in the human's direction before saying, "Here, this contains the intricacies of a technique I used when I was still on the Orthodox path of existence.
It should assist you in whatever it is you plan on doing in your short-lived and inconsequential life."
