-Your resistance to Heavenly Lightning has...

The System notifications followed one after the other as the Ascension Dragon Tears were consumed, while William's body felt slightly uncomfortable from the simultaneous effects of ten Ascension-level treasures.

If his body wasn't as powerful as an Ascended Cultivator, he probably would have suffered a great deal of damage from recklessly ingesting ten vials at once.

And to think Master gave these out as a trial reward to talented Sect Disciples. What if they consumed them right away? Wouldn't they explode? It's like giving a child dynamite, you shouldn't do it.

Riyald had always been an eccentric person, but William knew that others wouldn't have an appraisal system like he did. He also doubted that Riyald's gift was an attempt to create more souls for Cultivation. It would be a massive waste of resources for small gain.

-Your resistance to Heavenly Lightning has increased. Total: 50%

-The boosts provided by the Ascension Dragon Tears have reached their maximum. Further consumption will have no effect.

Fifty percent resistance to Heavenly Lightning. If I account for the twenty-five percent from the Trial Taker Title, I have seventy-five percent in total!

As William thought about this, another bolt of Heavenly Lightning slammed into William's body, but the SSR-Rank Forcefield opened along with a thin veil of golden light, completely guarding against the strike and only sustaining a few cracks. Before the next Lightning Bolt could form, the Forcefield had already fully recovered.

Better yet, William's Mana Regeneration Talent showed his status as out of combat, which meant he could maintain his quadrupled Mana Regeneration at all times!

If a Superior Tribulation can't force me out of combat, I'm afraid there's not a person in this World that can do otherwise. And to think the Forcefield Talent is supposed to be weak to Heavenly Lightning... William thought.

Rudeus looked at the golden veil surrounding William's Forcefield in awe, "It seems you are more prepared than we thought. Alright then, assist the Velos Faction in defeating the enemy Factions and I'll refine twenty Tier 10 Suppression Pills for you!"

On the Azures Continent, near Blue Moon City.

Atticus was waving his tail left and right, smashing Sandicores and Desert Beetles alike to bits with his peak Soul Formation strength. They were like chickens on a chopping block, and Atticus was the executioner.

There was no need to use the Illusion Element, as no matter what Spells were cast, the Magical Beasts couldn't do anything to pierce Atticus' thick scales. He slithered across the ground with open jaws, devouring a dozen Marauder Scorpions in a line and filling his stomach.

Burrrp! Atticus released a belch that made the earth shake. Cultivators everywhere lost their footing, many falling into their own traps that had been set well before the start of the Elemental Beast Tide.

Almost a hundred kilometers in the distance and floating in the air, a group of Nascent Soul Players were looking at Atticus through a specialized lens that could even see the intricate details of Atticus' scales.

Leading them were the Blue and Green-cloaked Players, the second generation of Region Leaders in Retribution following the old men's capture by William. They had been assigned to the Blue Moon City area for one mission: defeat the Mythical Rat Snake and retrieve its heart.

The Nascent Soul subordinates, seeing the destruction caused by Atticus, bore fear in their hearts. Gathering Atticus' blood would already be insanely difficult, but to kill him and take his heart? Suicide!

Only the Blue and Green Region Leaders weren't incredibly pressured. Over the last few months, both Players had grown incredibly quickly and both of them had just reached the very peak of the Nascent Soul Realm. They only needed to gather the appropriate ingredients and their next breakthrough would be easy.

"Don't be afraid, team. We aren't here to take the Beast's heart today. We just need to gather some blood and be on our way." Blue tried to relax the nerves of the Players assigned to him. It was difficult to lead a group in Otherworld Prime since the death penalty was so steep. Before the mission was completed, many would abandon at the first sign of danger.

"Are you really going to change your bloodline just so you can fight this thing? What if it fails?" one of the subordinates asked.

"Then I'll try again." Blue replied. If he could synchronize his bloodline with a Mythical Magical Beast with the Illusion Affinity, he would be unstoppable in Azures. Even if he Ascended later and there were more powerful beasts, he could repeat the process until his bloodline had reached the limit of its potential.

As he was daydreaming about the Illusion Affinity, the Green-cloaked Region Leader noticed a weakness in Atticus' position. "Prepare the Light Cannon!"

The previously nervous Nascent Soul Players had no choice but to listen to their leader's instructions, collectively pouring their Mana into the specialized lens at the same time. The lens extended and enlarged to become a long spyglass that further increased in size and changed shape until it was a cannon comparable to a modern telescope.

The Nascent Soul Cultivators' Mana became a fuel source for the cannon, while the Blue and Green Region Leaders poured their Light Mana at the forefront, the cannon channeling and compressing their Mana into a single point.

"Keep going!" the Blue Region Leader and his subordinates turned pale as they poured every last drop of Mana into the cannon.

Ten, fifteen, thirty seconds passed until the cannon was at full power, at which point the Green Region Leader halted the flow of Mana and waited patiently until the right moment.

"Hold it!" he ordered as Atticus slithered across the ground towards another group of Magical Beasts.

"Hold it!" Atticus was within five hundred meters of the group. The muscles on Atticus' face twitched, signaling that he was about to open his mouth.

"Now!" Green shouted as Atticus' jaw opened slightly.

A single, intense beam of light shot out from the cannon and flew through the air at incredible speed, crossing the one hundred kilometers distance in exactly one second as it struck Atticus' open mouth at a weak spot.

Blood spewed forth and Atticus howled in pain, closing his mouth to cancel his next move as he looked towards the source of the light. His tongue flicked back and forth, but he couldn't recognize the scent of the cannon, nor could he smell the Blue and Green Region Leaders as they had prepared well beforehand.

Atticus didn't sense any threatening auras, so he continued wiping out the Magical Beasts until the Tide had been completely eliminated. Only then did the snake take another look at the Light Cannon's old position, but there was nothing. He was forced to open the Illusion Territory and fly high into the sky, where he would sleep until the next Beast Tide appeared.

The Region Leaders hid with their subordinates for an entire day until Atticus' presence had long disappeared. They collected a few buckets of dried blood from Atticus, using another special tool to differentiate between the blood of a Mythical Beast and that of the common Foam Desert Beasts.
