Chapter 12: Hael, A Traitor!?
"What... what the hell just happened?"
"I... I don't know."
"Hey, Hael, are you okay?.." The slightly worried voice of Zhang rang out as he rapidly advanced towards the area where Hael crashed into. Immediately, he could see the blue hair hidden under the gigantic rubble.
"Holy shit!!!" Zhang cursed as he quickly moved towards the large rubble, and with a swift jerk, the boulder was sent flying into the distance.
"COUGH, COUGH."
"Hey bro. You okay?" Zhang asked as he raised Hael to his butt and reclined him against the wall.
"Yes, yes..." Blood dripped down his lips as he held his right shoulder tightly.
STEP
STEP
STEP
The sound of footsteps could be heard resounded through the area as the entire crew moved towards him.
Zhang shifted to the side as Captain Aelia walked forward towards him, crouching to his level before turning to look at his shoulders before turning to look at him in the eyes.
And for a moment, Hael could swear her eyes softened for a little before immediately disappearing just as fast as it came.
"Are you really okay?" She asked, her blue pupils seeming to hide a volcano of anger in them.
"I just broke my left shoulder. I'll be fine, but I'm afraid I'll be useless in a fight. I only know how to use my right arm..." Hael replied as Aelia's eyebrows furrowed.
Suddenly, she tapped on her wrist area, and immediately, a small handkerchief suddenly appeared out of thin air.
His eyes widened in shock from the strange occurrence, but he had no time to ask, as Captain Aelia wrapped the handkerchief around his shoulder and then...
CRACK
CRAAACK
The sound of bones getting rearranged rang out as Hael clenched his teeth from the pain.
An incredibly hot feeling spread through his senses as the broken shoulder was immediately resolved.
But then the coldness from the handkerchief immediately cleared away that feeling, and it was then replaced by a feeling of numbness as Captain Aleia wrapped it tightly around his shoulder.
"That should make sure you don't need a robotic transplantation..." Captain Aleia said as Hael raised an eyebrow at the strange word.
"Captain Aelia..." The call came from none other than one of the soldiers as Captain Aleia broke off her eye contact and turned to look at the soldier.
"Yes?"
"I've counted the number of Eldritch creatures present here. There are a total of 206. There are still about 100 more in this settlement..."
"Then that means our mission is yet to be completed. We must keep advancing forward..." Captain Aleia said before turning to look at the battered Hael.
"It is best if you go without me. I won't be of much help, not like I was of any in the former battle. I'll be safer here..." Hael said with his eyes down as Captain Aleia looked at him with furrowed eyebrows.
"Then I owe you an intense training after this. You really are one hell of a sucker, Hale..."
"Thanks in advance, captain. And I have to say, you pronounce my name really well..." Hael said, chuckling to himself as Captain Aleia snorted.
It was truly the first time she had called the young man by his name even though she had called him more than 7 times now...
"Let's move..." With one last look, Captain Aleia commanded as the group continued on their path of advancement and rapidly disappeared into the dark cave, leaving Hael alone in the darkness of the cave.
"I'm very weak, even though I have awakened the first gate of the Nine petals. I can't feel my element at all. I have to cultivate, but I also don't have the Moon Petals Arcana Grimiore. It is in the dynasty's libraries. I am screwed!!!" Hael whispered to himself with mockery, but he soon regained the light in his eyes.
"If I can't cultivate my Nine magical petals magic here, then I'll focus on this world's way of cultivation. I'll fuse with as many cores and rise to the very peak of the strength hierarchy. Then I'll find my way back home..." Hael mused out the small plan he had formed in his head when suddenly...
WHEEZE
COUGH
COUGH
The sound of wheezing and coughing echoed through the darkness as Hael immediately directed his attention away from his thoughts and looked towards the direction where the voice came from...
It was from none other than the place where the needle attack that had almost killed him came from...
Borrowing the light from the darkness, at the top of the ceilings.
Hael pushed himself up as he walked towards the place where the cough came from. His boots made splashing sounds from walking as he navigated through the corpse of the Eldritch, while doing all he could to stop himself from puking, from the sights of the various intestines and organic parts in the small river of blood.
After 3 minutes of struggling, He finally arrived at the area where the voice came from, as his eyes narrowed, trying to find the source but he saw nothing but pitch black darkness occasionally illuminated by the multicolored crystals...
"COUGH, COUGH..."
The cough resounded once more, this time closer than ever as Hael turned his attention towards a stalactite just by his side and he finally saw the pitch black darkness that was currently staring at him.
Like a mouse getting caught stealing candies by a cat, Hael retreated backward, his legs getting caught by the corpse behind him, and he smashed his butt onto the ground, blood splashing all over the space...
Silence reigned once more as Hale regained himself and tore out a small bright crystal from the surface of the stalagmite and pointed it towards the place, and he once more saw it...
The figure of an obviously female Eldritch who currently had dark blood staining down her dark lips as she stood, her left hand on her right arm which laid limply to her side.
Her wild fangs bared at him like a beast as she looked at him with an extremely murderous expression that sent chills down his spine, yet...
Hael advanced forward as he unwrapped the cold handkerchief around his arms before crouching in front of her and stretching his hands forward...
SCREEEECHHH!!!
