Chapter 1061 - Muhong City Mayor
Chapter 1061: Muhong City Mayor
Forcing our way into Yingyun city?
Mo Wen’s words shocked some of the kamikaze warriors from Yingyun City so much that their faces changed drastically. This young man was insane! The area outside of Yingyun city was filled with people from Muhong City who would soon surround the city so completely that not even a drop of water would get past them, much less the few of them human beings. They could forget about forcing their way into Yingyun City—
“No way, that’s too dangerous. How is this different from courting death?” The leader of the kamikaze warriors shook his head immediately. Only a madman would do something like this. There were now tens of thousands of Muhong City cultivators outside Yingyun City, and there were five or six cultivators at the great attainment of the Tide Changing Realm. Barging in so abruptly was no different from seeking death because they were sick of living.
The Huai Clan second young mistress’ eyes twinkled and she looked at Mo Wen with gleaming eyes as she spoke in a shaky voice, “Are you confident of making it through?”
“Second young mistress, you mustn’t do this.”
“Second young mistress, you can’t do this.”
...
The faces of the few kamikaze warriors changed hardened. The second young mistress was not crazy like that young man, right? The few of them blanched. The second young mistress was too stubborn, so maybe she really did go crazy like that young man.
“It shouldn’t be a problem if it’s just one or two people, but I can’t say the same if I bring any more,” Mo Wen spoke indifferently. They were just barging into Yingyun City, and it was not like they were directly engaging in war, so he was not afraid of storming Yingyun City even if eight out of 10 of the cultivators surrounding the city were at the Supreme Profundity Realm.
But he was not preparing to bring all of them in because these people’s cultivation was too low and they would only drag him down. Although he could store a few of them in the Junior Master’s Pagoda, he did not want to expose this container treasure.
“I’m the only one you have to bring along.” The Huai Clan second young mistress’ face was filled with joy. No matter what, she had to return to Yingyun city.
“Second young mistress ...”
The few kamikaze warriors from Yingyun City were torn between laughing and crying. What should they do? Were they supposed to just hand their Second young mistress over to this stranger—a stranger who they knew nothing about—to storm the city, no less?
“All of you should disperse and go as far as you can. Do your best to live,” the Huai Clan second young mistress spoke with a gentle voice as she looked at the few kamikaze warriors from Yingyun City.
These people had been risking their lives time and time again for Yingyun City, and she did not want to drag them any further into this mess at this point in time. Those who could run should run.
“We’re not leaving, second young mistress. As the most loyal warriors of Yingyun City, there was never a path of retreat for us. Since you insist on storming Yingyun City, we will escort you till the end of the road.”
The leader shook his head. He never did believe in the idea of escaping, and his mission had always been to live and die along with Yingyun City.
“There’s no use for you guys being there, don’t slow me down,” Mo Wen said apathetically as he glanced at the few of them.
“We will never leave the second young mistress, not until we die.”
The leader paid no mind to Mo Wen’s condescension and disregard and he was not the least bit angered by it, standing firmly and unshakeably by his own views. The strong might have the right to look down on the weak, but the weak had the right to stand firm by their principles.
The Huai Clan second young mistress furrowed her eyebrows. The loyalty of her subordinates shocked her and she did not know how to respond.
“You’ll only be holding her back and not helping her if you come along,” Mo Wen said indifferently. It was not a problem for him to be taking care of one person, but there was no way he could handle taking care of so many people at once.
“Your Excellency, we don’t need you to look after us. You don’t have to care for us either, but please take good care of the second young mistress. Leave the other consequences for us to shoulder.”
“We’ve never had any intentions of returning alive. We won’t be of much help when you storm the city, but we’ll be able to shift a bit of their focus, at the very least.”
The few kamikaze warriors were very stubborn and they knew their positions very well. They were cannon fodder and kamikaze warriors... They would do their best to restraint a portion of the enemies and create an opening for the second young mistress as much as they could.
The Huai Clan second young mistress looked at Mo Wen, her gaze conveying how helpless she felt.
“But I don’t need you guys.” Mo Wen laughed coldly. He pointed with a finger and then, a beam of gold-black light lit up and morphed into a Tai Chi Diagram. Two Yin Yang fish were turning nimbly, one black and one gold, and everything within a hundred-mile radius was encompassed within the circle.
It was not just that. In the hazy image of the Tai Chi Diagram, a mild purple light halo was gleaming. It was the Tai Chi Purple Light.
Although Mo Wen had only broken through to the Tide Changing Realm during his days of cultivating in the Junior Master’s Pagoda, he had managed to successfully cultivate a lot of the remarkable power secret techniques, including the Yin Yang Conversion Technique, the Light of Creation, the Tai Chi Purple Light, and the Yin Yang Heaven and Earth Great Shift.
Mo Wen had finally succeeded in completing the Yin Yang Heaven and Earth Great Shift and he had even gone one step further in successfully integrating the Tai Chi Purple Light into the Yin Yang Heaven and Earth Great Shift, allowing for the latter to directly rise to become a fifth rank small path remarkable power.
When it was successfully raised to become a fifth rank small path remarkable power, its power was immense beyond imagination. Zhang Poxiao did not have the Tai Chi Purple Light back then, but he could still wipe out several Supreme Profundity Realm cultivators with just the power of the great attainment of the Tide Changing Realm, which was a testament to how terrifying and powerful it was.
Now that the Yin Yang Heaven and Earth Great Shift had integrated into the Tai Chi Purple Light, it immediately rose two ranks, and it was even more powerful than Zhang Poxiao’s had been back then.
When the illusory Tai Chi Diagram first appeared, several of the kamikaze warriors of Yingyun City realized the power within their bodies had been thrown into disorder by a mysterious power. Their powers could not concentrate again and it was restrained by that mysterious power. They felt like they had fallen into quicksand and it was difficult to even move an inch.
“Let’s go.”
Mo Wen did not bother with the kamikaze warriors of Yingyun City anymore. He grabbed the Huai Clan second young mistress’ shoulder with one hand and then morphed into a beam of golden light, disappearing into the horizon in an instant, moving so quickly that it was astounding.
For two hours, the kamikaze warriors of Yingyun City would be trapped by the force field of the Yin Yang Heaven and Earth Great Shift, unable to move. By the time they recovered control over their body, he and the Huai Clan second young mistress would have already been more than halfway through storming Yingyun City.
“This...”
The leader of the kamikaze warriors looked at the golden light that had disappeared from his eyes in an instant, unable to speak for a beat. He had escaped so quickly... It was unlikely that the average Supreme Profundity Realm cultivator was capable of this, no? That mysterious young man was so terrifying, even when escaping.
He struggled with all his might in an attempt to shake off the hold that the strange force field had on him. However, even though his cultivation was only at the Tide Changing Realm later stage, he could not do much at all.
“That young man is so terrifying.”
This person was becoming more and more mysterious to the kamikaze warriors from Yingyun City. Judging solely by his aura, he was obviously just a Tide Changing Realm cultivator, and yet his remarkable power was unimaginably powerful.
...
It was currently dark outside Yingyun City. Dark clouds covered the sky, and one could vaguely make out a giant city standing tall and upright underneath the twilight sky. Its surroundings were exceptionally quiet and, for a large immortal cultivator city, it was basically devoid of any traces of people. There were barely any passers-by, let alone cultivators making their way to and from the city.
Groups upon groups of cultivators from Muhong City were lying in ambush on all four sides of the city. They had completely surrounded Yingyun City, so much so that not even water could pass through them and anyone trying to leave the city would immediately be discovered by them. Heaps of stratagems, instruments for immortal cultivators, and immortal cultivator warships... All of those were on standby, ready to trigger a huge war at any second.
100 miles outlay a palace that was built last minute—it was the command center of Muhong City. All the higher-level cultivators were there, and hundreds of thousands of people would be ready to attack Yingyun City at their command.
“What did you say? You let that little scum escape again?” a short middle-aged man asked unkindly. At this moment in the main hall of the palace, he stood there dressed in long purple and black robes, and the aura coming off of him was unfathomable and strange.
Below the palace hall kneeled two old men, and they were none other than the Purple Sorcerer and the Black Sorcerer.
After they managed to escape, the two sorcerers returned here immediately to relay the situation to the Muhong City Mayor.
“Lord Mayor, we’d wanted to capture that second young mistress but a young man appeared out of nowhere on our way there. The young man is exceptionally terrifying, and we’re definitely not his match. This is why... we could only pull back to come up with a new strategy,” the Purple Sorcerer said, somewhat uneasy.
Strictly speaking, they had technically fled at the last minute, but what could they do if not flee? There was no way they could leave their lives there, right? That young man was too terrifying and there was just no way they could fight back against him.
“Did you lose the Crimson Blood Demonic Flag as well?” The Muhong City Mayor’s face was looking more and more stern, his eyes gleaming something dangerous.
“Yes.” The Black Sorcerer trembled. He could only grit his teeth and admit it in the face of the city mayor’s force.
“Good for nothing.”
As the Muhong City Mayor called out coldly, a terrifying force erupted abruptly. It was as if a storm had broken out in the main palace hall, and the higher-ups of Muhong City whose cultivation was not as strong had suddenly been blown away by the strength of the storm. The Purple and Black Sorcerers bore the brunt of it—their faces were pale and they spat out a mouthful of blood.
The two sorcerers were frightened beyond comparison, kneeling on the ground in trepidation and hanging their head even lower. To the city mayor who was a Supreme Profundity Realm cultivator, killing them would be like squashing an ant.
The storm lasted as long as it took for a stick of incense to fully burn before it finally settled, and the Muhong City Mayor ended up not killing the Purple and Black Sorcerers, quashing his anger.
“And that person broke the sealed space of the Crimson Blood Demonic Flag within 10 breaths?” the Muhong City Mayor questioned coldly.
The Crimson Blood Demonic Flag contained the strength he had left behind, and it was difficult for a Tide Changing Realm cultivator to break it within 10 breaths once it had become a sealed space. Usually, only Supreme Profundity cultivators could achieve this feat, so it was excusable for the Purple and Black Sorcerers to have escaped if the man was really that powerful.
“It definitely did not take him more than 10 breaths,” the Purple Sorcerer responded through clenched teeth. If it had taken him more than 10 breaths, they might have managed to capture the Huai Clan second young mistress.
“Tell me what happened again, and spare no details this time,” the Muhong City Mayor instructed icily.
The Purple and Black Sorcerers, naturally, dared not ignore the mayor. They immediately launched into a recount of the incident, not daring to withhold or add any details. Both of them knew that the person standing in front of them was the Muhong City Mayor who existed at the Supreme Profundity Realm, so any false utterance could cost them their lives. Crossing paths with such a strong person meant they had to prioritize honesty.
As the two sorcerers recounted the incident, the Muhong City Mayor furrowed his brows. It was not just him—several of the higher-ups of Muhong City who were nearby also furrowed their brows.
“If he’s that strong, how did you manage to escape from his clutches?” the Muhong City Mayor asked, expressionless.
According to what the Purple and Black Sorcerers had said, there was almost no way the two of them could have escaped.
The surrounding higher-ups of Muhong City also looked icily at the Purple and Black Sorcerers. They did not seem to believe the man was as strong as the two sorcerers had made him out to be, or there was no way they would have managed to make their way back. Quite a few of the cultivators in the main hall had great attainment of the Tide Changing Realm, but not a single one of them felt that they were as strong as the person described by the two sorcerers—unless the person was a cultivator at the Supreme Profundity Realm, and not the Tide Changing Realm.
“Everything I’ve said is true, Lord Mayor. I do not deceive you.”
The Purple Sorcerer’s face was twisted in sadness. Although he had also thought about it after, thought that there was technically no way he could have escaped given how strong the young man was, no one would be thinking about this if they could escape. No matter what, it was a good thing that he was able to return alive.
