Chapter 458: Chapter 464: It’s not because Yang Zhen is cheap! (Fifth Update)

This was way too terrifying!

When he set out, Yang Zhen was already mentally prepared to face the swarms of terrifying mosquitos.

However, the scene he had imagined initially was totally different from the reality. Like violent floodwaters, the groups of mosquitos buzzed in deafening waves. They were like a terrifying dark tide that erupted from the ground beneath, sweeping over the earth and the sky in the blink of an eye.

For a moment, the entire sky was cloaked by the surging hoard of Death Zy, leaving everything in a threatening darkness.

The rest of the group also wore grave expressions. Their faces flickered with uncertainty. This was just a small part of the Death Zy. They wondered how many would return during the day, and if they could deal with the whole lot when they did.

The cheap cat meowed, its eyes wide as it scurried over to Yang Zhen. “Damn, there’s so many Death Zy!” it said in shock. “These people are still planning on barging in. They must be looking for death. Kid, get out of here fast! Suddenly, your lordship had an idea. I buried a treasure around here back in the day. How about your lordship leads you to unearth it?”

Yang Zhen cried out in surprise, taking note of the cheap cat’s claim about the buried treasure. Turning around, he said seriously, “Leave? We can’t do that. We’ve already come this far. Are you saying you don’t trust the armor that Saint Sao made?”

Furious, the cheap cat glared at Yang Zhen and replied, “Kid, confidence has nothing to do with this. With so many Death Zy, if even one got to you, you’ll surely die!”

Yang Zhen shook his head and replied, “In our village, there’s a saying that makes a lot of sense. You should listen to it.”

“What saying?” The cat looked cluelessly at Yang Zhen.

Yang Zhen looked at the cat, pondering for a moment before saying, “It goes something like this — you can’t get the Kylin’s pearl without entering the Kylin’s den.”

The cat’s eyes suddenly widened in disbelief. “Fucking hell! The idiot who said that in your village must be an idiot! Kylins are born of heaven and earth, and there’s only one in each lifetime. There’s no such thing as a Kylin’s pearl! Entering the Kylin’s den won’t get you any Kylin pearl, just death,” it cursed.

“Don’t fuss over the details. As long as you understand the principle,” Yang Zhen dismissed the cat’s remarks with a wave of his hand.

The cat snorted and said, “Your lordship understands the principle, but there’s a danger here that could threaten the entire Northern Island. Even if we risk going in, we could end up dying inside.”

Just as Yang Zhen was about to reply, a deep humming sound echoed from their surroundings. All the flying boats fastened their special covers and zoomed towards the Mobei Abyss.

Even the peak Tower, where Yang Zhen was, bellowed before a horrifying World-avoiding Heavenly Garment enveloped it and it sped off towards the Mobei Abyss with a bang.

The cat sat down heavily, a despaired expression on its face. “It’s over…it’s really over now. Damn, even if we wanted to escape, we can’t. This can’t be. Your lordship won’t just sit here and wait for death!”

After saying this, the cat pulled itself off the ground, activated its Black Panther Armor, and slipped into it. Only then did it exhale in relief. “Damn, this feels better.”

Just as Yang Zhen was about to ridicule the cat, his face suddenly changed!

Amid the booming hum, the peak tower entered the Mobei Abyss. The surrounding light seemed to have been swallowed up by something, transforming everything into a deep darkness. Only the World-avoiding Heavenly Garment emitted a faint glow, allowing them to barely make out their surroundings.

Countless dry bones lay scattered around the two sides of the Mobei Abyss. It was chillingly white and terrifying. A single glance told Yang Zhen that these were the remains of various species, with humans making up the majority. They were all skeletons that must have been dead for many years.

Yang Zhen gasped in surprise, gazing around in awe. “This place is practically another Forbidden Land of Life!” he exclaimed.

The Peak Master Mo nodded and said, “In the past, countless living creatures mistakenly entered the Mobei Abyss and ultimately died within. Over the years, I’ve never heard of anyone entering the Mobei Abyss alone and making it out alive.”

Yang Zhen nodded in agreement. There wasn’t a point in arguing. Get out? There was so many Death Zy eyeing them maliciously in there. If one could get out, it would be a weird thing! Even burying a body here would likely result in the grave’s tenant still dying.

Saint Lin led the swarm of Death Zy from the Mobei Abyss, circling midair, and every now and then, eerie cries echoed out.

By all accounts, Saint Lin, as such a proud genius, should not have made that kind of noise. However, when under stress, it was hard not to scream out in shock. Yang Zhen was ready to wager that it had nothing to do with the tweaks he had made to the steel battle armor.

Actually, Yang Zhen didn’t do much to it at all. It was just that once the steel battle armor went full throttle, it would experience intermittent “packet loss,” similar to a disrupted internet connection. Even if these interruptions only lasted for a fraction of a second, it was enough to ensure that Saint Lin wouldn’t be able to shake off the Death Zy.

It’s not that Yang Zhen was disgraceful. Really, he wasn’t.

With the steel battle armor moving at such high speeds, what if Saint Lin, after attracting the Death Zy, suddenly went full speed ahead, shook off the Death Zy, and entered the depths of Mobei alone, leaving everyone else behind? Then what?

A lot of people would die.

Yang Zhen’s actions were not motivated by dishonor, but entirely by greater good, tantamount to inadvertently saving the lives of hundreds or even thousands of practitioners.

Watching how Saint Lin was rolling and crawling in mid-air, Yang Zhen suddenly felt like he should have been renamed “Yang Lei Feng!”

Everyone felt a strange excitement, even Peak Master Mo couldn’t suppress a trace of thrill on his face.

It was too clear. Inside the depths of Mobei, aside from the sides filled with bones that equalled the Bone Mountain, there was no movement or indicator of the slightest surviving Death Zy. All had chased after Saint Lin.

“Look!” Peak Master Mo suddenly pointed at the wreckage of a flying ship, “In the past fifteen years, the furthest we’ve made it was here. That time, countless Death Zys came and went, casualties were heavy. Over ten thousand practitioners came but only slightly more than three thousand returned.”

Hiss——!

Yang Zhen sucked in a breath, looking up at the black swath of Death Zys in the air, “We all owe Saint Lin a thank you.”

“Yang Zhen, you bastard!”

Saint Lin suddenly roared from mid-air, stumbling a little and barely avoiding being caught up by the fastest group of Death Zys.

Everyone looked at Yang Zhen uncertainly. Yang Zhen raised his head to look at Saint Lin, waved his hand and shouted loudly, “No need to thank me, Saint Lin. Could you fly a bit further? I’m kind of scared watching this!”

At his words, Saint Lin almost fell from the air, roared, “Bastard, what did you do to me?”

Yang Zhen said innocently, “Now, now, accusations aren’t necessary, we’ve never had a chance to be alone. As Sao Saint, what could I have possibly done to you? Plus, I only show interest in pretty young ladies, not men. Please don’t smear my innocent reputation.”

Looking at the furious Saint Lin, who was actually flying towards the Tian Feng ship, everyone was freaking out.

“Dammit, Saint Lin, what are you trying to do? There are tens of thousands of practitioners here, you trying to get us all killed?”

“Fucking hell, Saint Lin, lead the Death Zy away from here, or even if I die, I’m taking you with me!”

Accusations reverberated all around, scaring Saint Lin enough to make him fly back hastily.

What a joke! Even if Saint Lin was from the powerful Ke Clan of the Shanggeng Ancient Tribe, he wouldn’t dare to offend tens of thousands of practitioners all at once. Their combined spit could drown the Ke Clan.

Boom boom boom!

The rumblings grew louder as more and more flying ships broke into the depths of Mobei. The surroundings immediately became clear.

The Tian Feng, on which Yang Zhen was aboard, followed the ship of the Spiritual Studies Palace into the depths of Mobei. As soon as it entered, countless exclamations echoed all around!
