Book 4: Chapter 26: Ace
Upon hearing Chen Heng’s reassurance, Dobermann relaxed. She used to be a Bolívarian soldier, so her ability to command went without saying. However, she feared terrible teammates who objected to her instructions. She had confidence in the operators she brought over, but she knew nothing about He Who Knows Fate.

“Alright, it’s time to depart. We will have to travel for a long time to get to Chernobog from Rhodes Island. Furthermore, it will be a tough journey. It should take about five hours, but if we run into problems along the way, we might be delayed, so it is better to leave early.”
“Are we entering the city when we arrive?”
“We are not entering the city. Ursus, which rules Chernobog, has an extreme stance against the Infected. Furthermore, many of Rhodes Island’s operators are Infected. We might be able to hide one or two but not so many. Initially, I was considering sneaking in, but Kal’tsit told me there would be a huge commotion in Chernobog tomorrow. Although I don’t know where she got the information, we can use this commotion to enter the city.”
[TL Note: Ursus is a Terran country, also the name of a race that has bear traits. The mention here refers to the country. Here is more information: /wiki/Ursus_(country).]
Dobermann patiently explained the battle plan to Chen Heng.
“Alright, let’s go, then.” It looks like Kal’tsit’s plan to conform to the storyline was right. This will bring me a lot of advantages.
Although Chen Heng had agreed quickly, he remained reluctant to travel for five hours. Isn’t spatial jumping better? Isn’t flying using my attraction ability better? However, he sat in the vehicle obediently when he remembered Kal’tsit’s request.
This time, Rhodes Island did not send many operators. They did not bring as many people as in the original storyline. There were only four vehicles, and one was for logistics.
Each vehicle had seven operators at most, for about twenty operators distributed among four vehicles. Chen Heng’s vehicle had himself, a driver, Nightingale, Shining, Nearl, and Ace. Amiya and Dobermann rode in another vehicle.
[TL Note: Ace is an NPC in Arknights. Here is more about him: /wiki/Ace.]
Initially, Dobermann felt dissatisfied with the number of operators Kal’tsit gave her, feeling it was too little. However, she remembered Kal’tsit’s evaluation of this operation: As long as you have He Who Knows Fate on your team, you will rival a catastrophe.
Although Dobermann put little faith in these words, feeling it too exaggerated, Kal’tsit’s evaluation proved He Who Knows Fate had a certain level of strength. He Who Knows Fate was probably similar to Skadi, someone who could change the entire battlefield single-handedly.
“Hello, you must be He Who Knows Fate. I’m Defender Ace.” Chen Heng sat in the center row with Ace.
“Hello, Big Brother Ace.”
“Hahaha! Little Brother, you are quite sociable. Since you already addressed me as big brother, I’ll take responsibility for protecting you in this operation.” Ace happily patted Chen Heng’s shoulder, apparently enjoying being called big brother.
In the front passenger seat, Nearl said, “Ace, don’t underestimate Chen Heng. He is a very strong operator.”
“I could not tell! A person whom the Radiant Knight Nearl praises can’t be weak. I have underestimated you.” As Ace spoke, he patted Chen Heng’s shoulder heavily again.
The physique of the ordinary Terrans was very good, quite strong. Chen Heng had heard that their average lifespan was two hundred years.
Of course, while Terrans’ minimum strength was high, their upper limits were low.
Just for Big Brother Ace, I have to teach Talulah a lesson. To think that She-Dragon is so arrogant. She probably has not suffered a beating from society before.
[TL Note: In the original storyline, Talulah killed Ace in this arc. Ace sacrificed himself to delay her, so the rest could escape.]
Erm…that’s not right. Talulah has suffered plenty of beatings from society. However, why does she not remember them? Did she get too arrogant because she became strong?
“Big Brother Ace, I’ll take a nap first. Let me know when we arrive.”
“It looks like He Who Knows Fate has not gone on many missions before. Sleep for a while; then, I’ll wake you up when we arrive. However, don’t sleep for too long. Otherwise, you can’t fall asleep at night.”
“Thank you. I will take note of that.”
He Who Knows Fate: I can start the livestream when we rescue Doctor tomorrow. Which commander do you think I will run into (beat up) first?
Efreet: I have played this game. If nothing unexpected happens, it should be Crownslayer. However, the first one to beat up should be none other than Mephisto.
[TL Note: Here are Crownslayer’s and Mephisto’s profiles: /wiki/Crownslayer and /wiki/Mephisto.]
Umaru-chan: I feel it’s time for Mephisto, that mischievous child, to receive a beating. No, he can no longer be considered a mischievous child.
Kal’tsit: You can make a move, but don’t go overboard. I don’t want the storyline to change too much.
He Who Knows Fate: Got it. Also, there’s Talulah. She should be taught a lesson. She is merely a She-Dragon. Too bad I did not bring Fafnir with me. Otherwise, I could let the two fight and see who is the true She-Dragon.
Solomon: Fafnir is female?
Queen of Ice and Snow: Fafnir has a gender?
17-Year-Old Beautiful Young Lady: Who knows?
Magus of Flowers: Fafnir should be an evil dragon phenomenon and does not have a gender. Of course, this means Fafnir can be male or female. He Who Knows Fate, how about you go back and check for yourself? See whether Fafnir is a male dragon or a female dragon.
He Who Knows Fate: Should be female. Fafnir’s voice sounds female.
Magus of Flowers: You have earned big. Now, you are a dragon rider in every sense.
He Who Knows Fate: I suspect you are saying something explicit, and I have proof.
He Who Knows Fate: No, I have to ask Customer Service about the Re:Life Chat Group’s matter.
I Have a Strong Presence: Re:Life Chat Group?
Efreet: I recall that is the group your childhood friend, Mo Qingtong, entered, right?
17-Year-Old Beautiful Young Lady: I feel that something must have changed.
He Who Knows Fate: For various reasons, I plan on joining the Re:Life Chat Group to monitor Mo Qingtong and Luo Li in case they cause trouble for me.
Customer Service! Customer Service! What’s up with the Re:Life Chat Group’s matter? Didn’t you say it could be done quickly?
Why the rush? Joining the Re:Life Chat Group will make you a Re:Life Chat Group member. However, what will happen to the time difference between Terra and your original world? Right now, the time dilation is set at one-to-five. Once you enter the Re:Life Chat Group, it will become one-to-one. Like the Dimension Administrators Association, the Re:Life Chat Group calculates time based on its member’s location.
“…Later, then. There’s no rush now.” Chen Heng had not known about this.
