Book 6: Chapter 12:2: A Fate Where Tohsaka Sakura Still Exists, Part 2

Chen Heng moved behind Tohsaka Aoi, who was about to fall asleep in her nightgown. Of course, his attention was not on her clothing.

Instead, he placed a simple sleep spell on her using Spiritual Energy. This wouldn’t harm her but simply give her sweet dreams.

While reading her book, Tohsaka Aoi suddenly felt exhausted and overwhelmingly drowsy, like a student weary from staying up late the previous night.

Eventually, she couldn’t resist the urge to sleep. But before she succumbed, she diligently marked her place with a bookmark and closed her book.

Chen Heng looked at Tohsaka Aoi asleep at her desk. Then, he gently lifted her body into the air with his attraction ability and slowly placed her on the bed.

Maybe because his sleep spell was so effective, Tohsaka Aoi didn’t wake up or notice anything unusual.

After taking care of Tohsaka Aoi, Chen Heng left her room. He set up a sound barrier outside her door before proceeding to Tohsaka Sakura’s room and repeating the process.

Yes, it was Tohsaka Sakura, not Tohsaka Rin.

Tohsaka Rin had joined the Re:Life Chat Group sometime after her re:life. Having watched the Fate series, she knew what Sakura would face in the future, so she didn’t let her father send Sakura to the Matou family again. Despite her young age, Tohsaka Rin possessed an adult’s mind, and the help of the Re:Life Chat Group made this easy to achieve.

[TL Note: Tohsaka Sakura was named Matou Sakura in the anime because she was sent to the Matou family for adoption because of the Tohsaka’s tradition of only having one heir to focus on. Here is more information on Matou Sakura and the Matou family: /wiki/Sakura_Matou and /wiki/Matou.]

Although Tohsaka Rin felt a bit guilty about using her chat group’s members to manipulate her father, she couldn’t bear to see her sister fall into the demon’s lair again. Absolutely not.

Tohsaka Rin felt that the group member called Aizen was too mysterious and dangerous, so she only allowed Aizen to alter her father’s choice, not completely manipulate him.

[TL Note: Aizen is likely S?suke Aizen from Bleach. Here is more information about Aizen: /wiki/S%C5%8Dsuke_Aizen.]

Pardon the harsh words, but Tohsaka Rin indeed didn’t trust Aizen, despite his help.

Because Aizen only slightly altered her father’s choice, Sakura was still going to be sent away. But before the end of the Holy Grail War, Sakura would spend a few more days with Tohsaka Rin.

Before Tohsaka Tokiomi sent Sakura to the Matou family in the original story, he had two choices.

The first was to send her to the Matou family. Since the Matou family heir had poor Magecraft aptitude, it had practically no successor to its Magecraft. Matou Zouken, the head of the family, promised to accept Sakura and raise her as a potential successor.

[TL Note: Here is more information on Matou Zouken: /wiki/Zouken_Matou.]

The second option was to send her to the Edelfelt family, the family of Tohsaka Tokiomi’s mother.

Tohsaka Tokiomi’s mother was originally one of the heirs of the Edelfelt family. She had eloped with Tokiomi’s father and been expelled from the family as a result. The Edelfelt family was famous for their twin Magecraft, meaning they could have two heirs simultaneously. Then came Sakura’s generation, where one of the Edelfelt twins, Luviagelita’s younger sister, had no talent. Luviagelita was the Forklift Lady with devilish strength, on par with Tohsaka Rin.

[TL Note: Note that twin Magecraft is not a type of Magecraft, but more a trait of this family. The Edelfelt family also uses Jewel Magecraft. Here’s more information on the Edelfelt family and Luviagelita Edelfelt: /wiki/Edelfelt and /wiki/Luviagelita_Edelfelt.]

Although Luviagelita’s talentless younger sister later succeeded the twin Magecraft, it was only because there was no one else to carry it forward. However, she could not use it. If Sakura had been given to the Edelfelt family, she could have replaced this younger sister.

There were complications, though. While the Edelfelt family was related to the Tohsaka House, they were also enemies (a grudge from eloping with a successor). It was understandable why Tokiomi didn’t think in this direction initially.

But now, Tohsaka Rin knew that Tohsaka Tokiomi was the source of her life’s troubles. There was no escaping it.

Had Tokiomi not decided to give Sakura to the Matou family, she wouldn’t have been mistreated. Matou Kariya wouldn’t have had to return to the home he had severed ties with, in an effort to save Sakura. He wouldn’t have been turned into something neither human nor ghost, nor would he have hurt his childhood friend, Tohsaka Aoi, in a fit of mental instability, causing him to go insane and become paralyzed.

If Tokiomi had not made that decision, none of this would have happened! All of it was Tohsaka Tokiomi’s fault!

Knock, knock, knock! Chen Heng didn’t just barge into Tohsaka Rin’s room. Instead, he knocked on the door with gentlemanly decorum.

Of course, after rendering Tohsaka Aoi unconscious, there was little about Chen Heng’s behavior that could be called gentlemanly.

“…Come in.” After Chen Heng knocked on the door, the occupant didn’t respond immediately. He had to wait a few seconds before a soft voice rang out.

Upon hearing the room owner’s permission, he first set up an attraction barrier for himself. Only then did he turn the doorknob and step into the room.

As Chen Heng entered the room, two top-quality gems greeted him.

The gems flying at Chen Heng exploded 20 centimeters from his face, emitting two powerful bursts of flame. Regrettably, while the Magecraft contained in the gems was indeed impressive, it had no effect on Chen Heng.

“Miss Tohsaka Rin, it’s not in line with the Tohsaka House’s reputation for elegance (screwing up at the crucial moment) to treat a guest so rudely at the first meeting.”

“Humph! I don’t consider uninvited people guests. Also, I sense malice in your words. Who are you, and what do you want?” Tohsaka Rin sat with her legs crossed in a wooden chair about three meters in front of Chen Heng, watching him.

It’s worth noting that Tohsaka Rin was a precocious child. Despite her tender age, she wore black stockings, which was rather unusual for children her age—shouldn’t children wear white stockings? She was an anomaly!

“I am the black side’s Saber, tasked by my Master to check on the heir of the Tohsaka family,” Chen Heng responded.

“The black side’s Saber? What do you mean? Is there a black side and a red side in the Holy Grail War?” Tohsaka Rin quickly picked up on “the black side” in Chen Heng’s words.
