Chapter 317 Daughter-In-Law

At Country B

Mitch and Kevin were on the way to his parents' residence. He would introduce Mitch to his family. It was a perfect chance for Mitch to know and bond with Kevin's family as she extended her vacation in Country B after attending the coronation.

Kevin could feel that Mitch was a little bit anxious. This was the first time she would meet Kevin's family so she was nervous, afraid that they wouldn't like her.

Grabbing her hand as he slowed down the car, Kevin asked Mitch, "Are you okay? You look so tense."

Mitch turned to her side, looking at Kevin while biting her lower lip. She was so embarrassed to say it out loud.

"Come on. You can tell me. Are you nervous?" Kevin squeezed her hand, giving her a sense of comfort.

This time Mitch nodded her head as she expressed her thoughts with him. "Do you think they will like me?"

"Of course, they will!" Kevin promptly responded with full confidence in his tone, reassuring Mitch. "You are an amazing woman, Mitch. Trust me, they will definitely like you," he softly added.

Mitch eased up a little bit, believing Kevin's comforting words.

"Just act naturally in front of them. Just be yourself, Mitch. Don't be nervous or feel pressured. Put your mind at ease because I am with you." Kevin brought her hand closer to his lips as he kissed the back of her palm. After that, he moved his gaze back on the road.

Mitch could only smile at the man beside her. He really knew how to make her feel relaxed.

After twenty minutes, they finally reached the house. Kevin's parents were already expecting their arrival. His parents also prepared a feast for this dinner as he already mentioned to them that he was bringing his girlfriend.

They were also excited to meet the woman who caught their son's interest. They only knew that his girlfriend came from Country D.

When the car stopped at the entrance, Mitch couldn't help but rub her cold hands together. Kevin stepped out of the car first to open the door for Mitch.

'You can do this, Mitch!' She murmured to herself, taking a deep breath before coming out of the car.

They entered the house with their intertwined hands. Mitch was clutching tightly on Kevin's arm. The moment they reached the living room, they were welcomed right away by Kevin's mother, Carmen.

"Welcome home, my dearest son!" Carmen hugged Kevin before turning to Mitch who was standing next to her son. "Is she the one?" she asked, tossing a look at Mitch's face to assess her.

Mitch held her breath as she met his mother's gaze. She tried to smile, concealing her nervousness.

It wasn't so long when Carmen flashed her friendly smile as a response to Mitch.

"Yes, Mom. This is Mitch, my sweet and loving girlfriend." Kevin proudly said, introducing Mitch to his mother. "Mitch, this is my Mom."

"Hello Auntie, it's my pleasure to meet you," Mitch said. She slightly bowed her head as a sign of respect and politeness towards Kevin's mother.

Carmen also welcomed Mitch with a warm hug, trying to make her feel comfortable in her presence. "I would prefer if you would call me Mom, not Auntie. You are my son's girlfriend, so you are like my daughter now… and part of this family. So Mitch, just feel at home, okay?"

Mitch could finally relax when she heard Carmen's words. She was friendly and approachable, contrary to what she imagined. She thought Kevin's mother would be too formal at first while assessing whether she matched her son or not.

'I guess I watched too many TV dramas,' Mitch thought to herself, smiling inwardly.

"Thank you for this warm welcome… Mom," She said shyly, a blush creeping over her face.

"See, it sounds better! I like it. From now on, just call me Mom. And no need to be embarrassed!"

Carmen immediately pulled Mitch towards the dining area where Kevin's father was waiting for them. Kevin could only smile cheerfully while watching Mitch and his mother together.

Upon reaching the dining hall, Mitch saw a middle-aged man who was serving some food on the table. It turned out Kevin's father was the one who personally cooked the food for tonight's dinner.

"Honey, Kevin and his girlfriend have arrived. Put those plates down first. Come and greet them!" Carmen called the attention of her husband, Kurt.

Kurt greeted them with a warm smile. He put down the plates on the table before walking over to them.

"Welcome back, son." He patted Kevin's back. Then when he faced Mitch, Kurt's eyes gleamed with delight.

"Welcome to our simple home, Daughter-in-law!" Kurt declared cheerfully, making Mitch speechless. Her face reddened further because of his remarks.

Mitch: "..."

'He called me… daughter-in-law? Kevin and I are not yet married.'

Kevin could only shake his head helplessly. His father didn't have a little bit of self-restraint. The father and son duo exchanged a quick glance at each other as if they were sending a secret message towards each other. 'Dad, please control yourself and be patient. Don't scare away my girlfriend.'

Kurt just winked at Kevin, giving him a teasing smile.

"Come, let's eat. I cook this, especially for Mitch. My daughter-in-law, tell me if this father-in-law's cooking will suit your taste!" Kurt didn't stop calling Mitch as his daughter-in-law.

"Thanks, Uncle. I'm already drooling just smelling and watching the food. I know they are all yummy and delicious," Mitch said politely.

"It's Dad! Not Uncle."

The first time Kevin mentioned her to them, Kurt already did a background check on Mitch. It's for the purpose of getting to know her more. And after finding out some information about Mitch, he and his wife already liked her for their son even though they hadn't seen her yet in person.

And, of course, they trusted their son's preference. They could see that the two matched each other perfectly. They wanted Kevin and Mitch to get married soon if they were to decide. They couldn't wait to have grandchildren!
