Chapter 111

Chapter 111

The air outside the building Hiro had just run out of had turned dark. The strong smell of gunpowder caused the people who were shocked by the explosion to cough violently.

Giant clouds of black smoke covered the last residential area Hiro just passed by just a few minutes ago.

“What’s going on!?”

“Attack! It’s an attack!”

“Terrorists! Run, save yourselves!”

Dozens of players were running away from the residential area. They were full of fear and despair, as if they had just seen something terrifying.

Hiro stopped a dwarven player who was running very slowly among the others.

“What’s going on?” he asked with a serious look on his face.

The dwarf was surprised and trembling. His clothes were already burnt, while some parts of his skin were blistered and had even turned black.

“Get out of here, hurry! This game isn’t safe anymore! Terrorists! Terrorists!”

That dwarf struggled to free himself from Hiro’s grip.

While the others were scattering to get away from the source of the explosion, Hiro was running in the opposite direction.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Hiro covered his nose with the back of his hand as he ran toward the area where a festival was previously held.

Screams and cries of pain and despair could be heard all over the place. The tidy buildings in the residential area had been completely razed into rubbles on the same level as the ground, and the thick stench of blood and gunpowder in the air became even stronger as he ran deeper into the center of the chaos.

Right, left, above, below; everywhere his eyes fell, he could see scattered body parts complete with burnt fresh blood.

NPCs and players, Hiro couldn’t differentiate who the owners of those body parts were.

His feet continued to run, jumping here and there while using the rubbles all over the ground as his foothold. His intuition told him that the source of all this chaos was in the center of the residential area; the city square.

[Demon’s Eyes]

The clouds of smoke from the explosion were so black they greatly hindered his sight, so Hiro decided to activate his Demon’s Eyes in case anything dangerous was hidden. He had to stay cautious.

When Hiro faintly heard voices not far in front of him, he carefully slowed down his steps.

“We’re the first.”

“Will this plan work?”

“Of course it will. Are you questioning Boss’s plan?”

“Tch. I can’t wait to see their reaction.”

“Hahaha.”

Seven people were standing in the middle of the residential area square. They were conversing normally, as if the filthy air wasn’t a problem for them.

Those seven people wore matching black robes that hid their equipment information and their faces.

There was one thing Hiro got from his effort of running this far. Those seven were player killers, and that robe was an identity of where they were from.

‘WynterRain fanatics? What do they want?’

Before Hiro could find the answer to the question inside his head, he suddenly heard a much more powerful explosion from the west of the area.

Booom! Kabooom!

“Hahaha. They’ve already done it..”

“Three more spots.”

The seven mysterious people then disappeared with the smog. They teleported just after Hiro managed to overhear a piece of information that piqued his suspicion even more.

“Three more spots?”

‘Are they planning to destroy this city!?’

Hiro hurriedly ran back toward the source of the second explosion, to the west of Eternity Kingdom’s area. However, just when he could see the other residential area that was blown up from a distance, the sound of another explosion once again appeared.

Booom! Kabooom!

This time, the source of the explosion came from the north of Eternity Kingdom.

Three points in Eternity Kingdom had just been blown up, and now, the magnificent capital city was covered in black smoke and the smell of gunpowder.

The players in the city panicked and became even more terrified. They hurriedly looked for NPC Willie to teleport to another city before they became one of the victims of those explosions and instantly die.

“Two left.” He remembered the words he overheard.

This time, Hiro didn’t immediately run north. Instead, he began to estimate the possibilities of what would happen.

‘Two spots left. If that was an explosion target, one of them must be in the east.’

“Then the last one?”

Rather than running in the direction of a place that was already blown up, Hiro decided to head toward the place that was still safe up to this point. His purpose was to find out who was behind those crazy explosions.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Hiro ran toward the city square of Eternity Kingdom. At the center of the city was a gorgeous castle inhabited by human royalty.

It didn’t take long for Hiro to reach that spot, but he had to stay cautious. After all, the risk of this investigation was his own life.

Hiro didn’t enter the city square. On the contrary, he chose a spot with the furthest distance from the outer border of Eternity Kingdom’s city square and stood on the tallest building in the area.

Meanwhile, in the world chat.

[Leonard91: Eternity Kingdom is under attack!]

[NightmareNM: What the hell is going on in EK?]

[WolfKnight: F*ck, I almost died!]

[CutePie: Damn, my level dropped… That damn bomb was so scary T_T]

Hiro closed the world chat to focus. He looked toward the east of Eternity Kingdom, trying not to blink.

At that moment. He could see a speck of light swiftly moving above the sky and falling to the east of Eternity Kingdom.

Boom! Kaboom!

The explosion Hiro predicted finally occurred. He just needed to patiently observe the city square in front of him.

He believed that it would also be blown up in a few minutes.

Hiro continued to check for suspicious moves, but all he saw were players and NPCs running in fear. There were too many of them that some could be seen falling and getting trampled by the others until they stopped screaming and moving.

The air turned hot. Hiro could feel his sweat dripping from his temples.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Seven people in black robes suddenly landed above the giant fountain in the middle of the city square. Hiro saw how they could fly and finally landed there.

Out of nowhere, one of the seven lifted a skull-shaped magic staff complete with its sternum. Hiro couldn’t see what the person was doing until all of a sudden, a light that looked exactly like the one he previously saw swiftly dashed like a meteor.

Swapppp!

Bommm! Kabooom!

Cough cough!

Hiro violently coughed. The explosion made him breathe in dust and stone grains. Furthermore, his ears rang so loudly that he couldn’t hear anything apart from that ringing sound. His head had even hit the stone wall behind him hard.

If this were the real world, he probably would’ve fallen unconscious.

Fortunately, the building Hiro chose wasn’t destroyed as well. However, before Hiro could check those seven mysterious players once again, the air pressure in the area abruptly changed.

A giant tornado rapidly formed in the sky of the city square. The tornado sucked everything beneath it, from clouds of black smoke, dust, stones, and gravel to the remains of the destroyed buildings.

It was as if a natural disaster had befallen the city.

A figure suddenly appeared in front of that tornado. Unlike the surrounding objects, the figure was not only stably flying there, but he also wasn’t being sucked into it.

The figure’s long robe fluttered in the air. Meanwhile, on his left seemed to be a dark-colored dragon the size of a dog flapping its wings.

Hiro was too focused on that figure that he didn’t realize the seven mysterious players had already left their previous spots.

He didn’t realize that he was in danger.
