Everyone’s attention shifted upward, waiting for Seth to speak. With just a
single sentence, he could resolve the situation.
Meanwhile, Seth stood on the second floor, calmly sipping his red wine,
seemingly unaffected by the tense atmosphere below. Descending two
steps, he positioned himself at the corner of the staircase.
Leaning on the handrail, he observed the spectacle below as if it were a
show. Eventually, his gaze landed on Isabella’s face.

Isabella’s heart raced. She had recently offended Seth, and he hadn’t
responded to the car incident. Moreover, their encounter from the previous
night had been far from pleasant. In this situation, falling into his hands would
undoubtedly lead to unfavorable consequences.
Seth seemed to have read Isabella’s thoughts. However, he remained silent,
deliberately testing the patience of those present while suppressing

Isabella’s emotions.
Suddenly, he raised his hand and pointed in Isabella’s direction.
“This lady here…” Seth spoke slowly, each word teasing Isabella’s nerves. Then,
he abruptly lowered his tone and commented, “You did try to harm her.”
The tension that had been gripping Isabella’s heart instantly snapped, and
she stared blankly at Seth. Her eyes were clear, devoid of anger, but rather
filled with an expectation of this outcome.
Seth’s brief words made him resemble a judge pronouncing a verdict.
Megan believed she had won and immediately stood up, disregarding her

Unfortunately, the people present had no connection to Seth’s social circle;
otherwise, someone would have recognized Isabella as Seth’s former
executive secretary.
“Why aren’t you speaking up? Weren’t you all tough just a moment ago? I’ve
encountered many young ladies like you!” Megan sighed, adopting a tone of
deep concern before turning to Gordon. “Gordon, how could you bring any
random woman home and introduce her to your grandmother?”

Gordon stood in front of Isabella, his tone firm as he declared, “Stop talking
nonsense. Are Seth Shaffer’s words law?”
While confronting Megan, he also took the opportunity to question Seth,
clearly intending to defend Isabella until the end.
Isabella stood behind Gordon, unwaveringly gazing at Seth’s face, silently
questioning him. Are you satisfied seeing me humiliated?
Seth likely understood the meaning behind her gaze and glanced at Gordon,
who was protecting her like a mother hen. Then, he pursed his lips and wore
a disdainful expression. “Mrs. Logan, shouldn’t you at least let me finish
speaking?”
The man’s cold and icy voice inadvertently shattered the room’s atmosphere,
plunging it into silence.
Meanwhile, Megan, who had maintained a fierce demeanor, froze at Seth’s
words. Her expression immediately twisted. “Mr. Shaffer, what do you mean
by that?”
Seth rested both hands on the railing, slightly bending one leg, appearing
relaxed. Though his gaze remained fixed on Isabella, his words were directed
at Mrs. Logan. “Although that woman tried to harm your daughter, your
daughter did provoke her.”
The crowd erupted in an uproar.

Rachel also seemed frightened, her previously pitiful expression now
replaced with fear as she anticipated what might unfold next.
Seth locked eyes with Isabella, and his lips curled slightly. “Miss Logan kicked
the other woman first, so shouldn’t the victim be allowed to defend herself?”
His tone remained calm, but his final question dripped with sarcasm, causing
everyone to shift their attention to Rachel and imagine the events that had
transpired.
Isabella stood below, swallowing nervously as she unconsciously lowered her
head.
With just a few words, Seth effortlessly changed her situation, but she didn’t
feel the slightest bit of happiness.

Megan felt embarrassed and enraged, standing there unable to speak. Since
she dared not go against Seth, she found herself in an embarrassing
position, enduring the scornful looks from the crowd.
Ariel stood to the side, but she criticized Gordon. “Gordon, how can you speak
to your élders like that?”
She then stepped forward and addressed the crowd. “Alright, everyone. Let’s
disperse. It’s just a misunderstanding. Mrs. Logan is simply overly concerned
about her daughter.”

“Why should we? She attempted to harm and frame another woman.
Shouldn’t she apologize?” Gordon persisted, disregarding the reputations of
both families.
Ariel was on the verge of exploding in anger. When her gaze landed on
Isabella, who stood behind Gordon, her disdain for the young woman
intensified. She believed it was the questionable Isabella who had made
Gordon completely irrational.
“Shut up!”
After being scolded by his mother, Gordon was about to speak again when
Isabella nudged him. “Forget it. Today is your grandmother’s 80th birthday.”
