Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 335 Do You Dare?

Chapter 335 Do You Dare?

The blazing roc's claw arrived before Matias's fist did.

With a ferocious roar that produced heatwaves that swept out in every direction, the blazing roc aimed at Kyran's head.

"Disciple Tyr!"

Gasps of fright escaped the members of the Blacksmith Order watching nearby. The few Array Specialists also moved instinctively to help Kyran.

Kyran held the staff with both hands as he lifted it vertically in front of him as if planning to block the roc's claws with it.

Seeing Kyran's action made Matias sneer. He laughed and gloatingly said, "Fool!"

His flame was far more powerful, especially in its roc form. How could a wooden staff possibly defend against it? Even if it was made from special materials, his flame was not a pushover!

"BURN!" Matias shouted as his fist erupted with flames that connected with the blazing roc.

The blazing roc erupted with angry red flames that instantly blocked Kyran from their view.

"No!"

"Disciple Tyr!"

All of the members of the order shouted in fright. They were all aware of how frightening Matias's flames were. The reason why Emmet was in a critical condition right now was because of it!

DING!

A loud metallic sound rang out as the Kyran's long staff and the roc's claw collided. This was followed by a blinding gold light that burst out in front of the blazing roc.

RAWRGH!

The blazing roc roared as it got shoved back by the magic array.

"What?" Matias exclaimed in shock.

As the blazing roc got overwhelmed by the gold light, Matias was also forced back.

"Argh...!" Matias tried to fight back the momentum of the gold light but then something flashed before him which hit his forehead.

"Ack!" He exclaimed in pain.

It was only brief contact, but whatever hit his forehead was too powerful that he got swept back a few dozen of steps behind!

Seven golden metallic spheres emerged from the golden light which was still overwhelming the blazing roc. The spheres surrounded the blazing roc forming a circle. Two light beams burst from the spheres that connected strategically to one another forming a seven-sided star.

RAWRGH!

The blazing roc roared as if it was in pain as it got trapped in the middle of the star.

Surprisingly, the seven-sided star created by the spheres was capable of trapping the blazing roc!

Matias stomped his feet on the ground to break his momentum. When he heard the blazing roc's roar he looked up just in time to see it getting trapped inside the star.

"What —guh!"

Before he could exclaim in surprise, the backlash of having his magic trapped by another hit him and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Who's the fool now?"

As soon as the members of the order had heard Kyran's voice from within the golden light, they all heaved a sigh of relief. At the same time, an overwhelming emotion washed over them, especially the Array Specialists and the Blacksmiths.

They had every intention of protecting 'Disciple Tyr' when Matias and his people arrived. That was one of the reasons they had not gone to report to him at once. The other reason was their fear of getting beaten up if they disturb him while working.

However, at a critical moment, Kyran suddenly emerged from his workroom. Without asking any of the blacksmiths in the working area about what was happening outside, he started making his preparation.

He took out several strange-looking materials and crushed them. And with a wave of his hand, an array appeared in the small space on the second floor walkway!

The blacksmiths were all flabbergasted.

They had seen Chairman Noir and President Sigma create simple array formations in an instant, but not something as grand as the array Kyran did!

Since none of the array specialists was present, the blacksmiths could only roughly guess what array Kyran had created. They were surprised when they realized the array had similar formulas to a transportation array.

It should be said that a transportation array was not an easy array to create. Not to mention, it required a vast number of spirit stones just to activate one!

Their initial surprise was soon replaced by an even more shocking event when three human-shaped puppets came out from Kyran's workroom and supplied the magic energy into the transportation array.

Without wasting time, Kyran went down and instructed Gunter to take the lead in overseeing the injured members of the order once they appear in the transmission array because he would take care of some business outside.

When they all heard what he said, they initially could not react. But when Kyran made his way to the door and actually opened it, they realized the business he meant was Matias!

They also belatedly recall what Kyran had called the array he just created and they were even more surprised.

He had said that it was a transmission array and not a transportation array!

What was a transmission array? Its array formula and calculation were far more advanced than a transportation array because it was said to dabble with space magic! And Disciple Tyr actually created one in an instant? It was simply impossible! Yet it happened.

And now, when they all thought Kyran had fallen prey to Matias's powerful flames, he emerged unscathed. Not to mention, the light golden aura that enveloped him at the moment gave them a feeling of looking at an invincible deity!

As Kyran walked out of the golden light, they all noticed that the wooden staff in his hand which had several small light golden magic arrays circling its shaft seemed to be longer than usual, and was now decreasing back in its normal length.

Matias looked up and when he saw the staff in Kyran's hand, he realized that it was what had hit him in the forehead earlier!

Once again, he had suffered from 'Tyr's' despicable staff!

"YOU!" He growled in annoyance as he felt a small lump forming on his forehead. "FIGHT ME FAIR AND SQUARE!"

Kyran raised his brows at Matias's outburst. His eyes turned cold as he said with a voice that could freeze hell, "Fair and square? You come in here, and hurt my fellow ordinary human members of the Blacksmith Order. And you're spouting fighting 'fair and square'?"

He suddenly whirled his staff and pointed to his right without taking his eyes off Matias. Its length increased at an alarming speed and then...

SPLAT!

"AAAAHHH!"

One of the white-robed mages who managed to crawl his way to the side, screamed miserably as he held one of his eyes which had just been pierced by Kyran's staff.

"M-MY EYE!" He wailed.

Matias's scalp had gone numb as the white-robed mage's voice seemed to overlap with another voice in his mind.

Earlier, one of the members of the order trapped in the whirlwind had also screamed after his eye was shot by a flaming arrow.

"You—!"

"That's one eye for an eye," Kyran said with a straight face.

The few remaining members of the order who heard him wondering aloud earlier and was unsure of what he meant, finally understood everything.

"Three left to go," Kyran added as he looked at the two remaining white-robed mages who were currently cowering a few meters away to his left.

Some of the array specialists rushed back to the working area wanting to confirm their thoughts as well and were shocked to find Gunter and the rest of the blacksmiths helping the three human-shaped puppets in taking care of the injured members.

They swept their eyes at the injured members and confirmed that the numbers were exactly the same. Kyran did plan to avenge their members!

There were only two unharmed white-robed mages left, and including Matias, the number was three!

This instantly made Matias erupt in anger. Did 'Tyr' really believe he was a pushover? Did he think he would just stand idly and let him do as he pleased?

"FIGHT ME FAIR AND SQUARE, DO YOU DARE?" Matias shouted yet again.

As far as he was concerned, Tyr only appeared invincible under his 'magic array.' If the magic array above was removed, Matias was confident he could easily overpower him!

Right now, he could more or less understand how Tyr's strengthening magic was helping him appear 'invincible.'

Matias was convinced now that Tyr's ordinary-looking wooden staff was no average staff. It was definitely created from special materials. With Tyr's strengthening magic, he could easily boost the staff's offensive capability.

As for Tyr's speed, Matias attributed that to the former's physical ability. 'Tyr' was also a mercenary, and definitely had a lot of opportunities to strengthen his physical abilities. He had developed both his speed and knowledge in wielding a staff by completing missions. If he used his strengthening magic, the boost both abilities received was unimaginable.

Most support type magic mages would not think of developing their own physical abilities to take advantage of their support type innate magic. Such a way of using one's support type of magic was truly ingenious.

Nevertheless, a support type magic was still a support type. In front of pure offensive magic, it would not be able to compete! Because if a mage with offensive magic received a boost from support mages, then he would become twice, no, even ten times more powerful.

"Your magic versus mine, in a fair fight! Do you dare?" Matias asked.

Kyran sighed inwardly. The first time he met Matias, he thought he was an idiot. Now, he was convinced, he was beyond saving.

He somehow understood the logic where a losing side would demand a 'fair' fight. But normally, this was the losing side's way of finding an opportunity to reverse the situation. Not to mention, the losing side would normally be the 'good guys.'

Matias and his people were the first ones who initiated the attack, which made them the bad guys in this situation. Now that the Blacksmith Order's side did a reversal, Matias was now demanding a fair fight.

It was simply... idiotic.

Kyran was not finished extracting equal compensation from them. If he was not forced to hide his real abilities, he should have been finished by now.

Another reason why he was not being overly overbearing, was the presence of a few Grand Masters and a couple of Exalted nearby. He was unsure if they were with Matias.

Initially, Kyran believed two or three of them were with Matias. And once they deemed the latter in a critical situation, they would come help.

The reason why they had not come to help yet was that they believed Matias still had the situation under control.

But Kyran was also not convinced.

Judging from Matias's idiotic spouting, he might not be aware that he was being followed by higher-level mages of their family. Or maybe, he was not aware because the higher-level mages nearby had nothing to do with them.

Either way, Kyran had to be careful. Because he was convinced some of them were from the Royal Family which the Crown Princess had ordered to keep watch.

With a sigh, Kyran finally responded to Matias's idiotic provocation. He said, "Let's not waste time here."

As soon as he was finished, he disappeared and reappeared in front of the remaining two white-robed mages.

He whirled his staff and moved at once aiming the tip at them.
