“Alright, but don’t push yourself too hard. Your health is the most important. Don’t overwork yourself,” the assistant murmured.
Gu Huanhuan knew she was concerned and smiled, “I know.”
Since winning the award, Gu Huanhuan had become even more demanding of herself. She wanted to present better works to her audience, who had always supported her.
Even during breaks in filming, she used every spare moment to memorize her lines.
Lu Yiming was the same, a very professional actor. Everyone knew their roles and didn’t dare slack off for a moment.
Gu Huanhuan was becoming more recognized, and her works were increasingly appreciated.
When they arrived, the assistant got out first and then looked back at Gu Huanhuan, noticing her frowning.
“Sister Huanhuan, what’s wrong?” the assistant asked, surprised.
“I feel a bit dizzy,” Gu Huanhuan said as she held onto the door and got out of the car. She suddenly felt a strange tightness in her chest. After a moment, the feeling subsided, and she gradually felt better.
“How could this happen? Sister Huanhuan, you’ve never gotten car sick before. We’ve been riding in this van for so long without any issues. The driver’s skills are impeccable,” the assistant said worriedly, seeing her exhausted appearance. Taking care of Gu Huanhuan was her responsibility.
“I’m fine. I just need a moment. Maybe I’ve been pushing myself too hard to keep up with the schedule,” Gu Huanhuan reassured her with a wave of her hand.
“If it gets worse, let’s take a day off,” the assistant suggested. If anything happened to Gu Huanhuan, the company would blame her.
“No need. I’m really okay. Let’s go,” Gu Huanhuan said as she walked toward the set.
Maybe she had just gotten up too early, eager to finish filming and go home, resulting in poor rest and dizziness.
She hadn’t seen her husband in almost a month. She was filming on location, and Wen Chi had been very busy, recently promoted.
He was now a professor and a department head. She was happy for him, knowing his hard work had paid off, even though he wasn’t interested in fame and fortune.
Gu Huanhuan smiled, appreciating this about him. Those too focused on reputation easily lost themselves and compromised their integrity.
She arrived early; no one else was there yet. She went to the lounge to rest, sipping some warm water, but the tight feeling in her chest lingered.
Soon, her fellow cast members arrived. Lu Yiming noticed her pale face and asked with concern, “You don’t look well. Are you alright?”
“Brother Lu, I’m fine,” Gu Huanhuan forced a smile. She had grown close to Lu Yiming during filming. He treated her like a sister, taking good care of her. Despite being an award-winning actor, he had no airs about him, showing how mutual respect formed strong bonds.
“Sister Huanhuan, look what I brought you for breakfast!” her assistant said, holding several white bags, teasing her with the surprise.
Gu Huanhuan turned to see the bags emitting a delicious aroma. “Your favorite, soup dumplings. Come, have some…”
Before the assistant could finish, Gu Huanhuan caught the scent of the meat and suddenly covered her mouth, rushing to a nearby trash can to dry heave, bringing up only sour bile.
