Chapter 113: Blood Bat King
Chapter 113: Blood Bat King
Atlas continued toward the mountain, where he guessed the Blood Bat King would be waiting for him. He walked toward a forest that looked ominous at the base of his destination, but he forced himself to ignore it. Then, he heard a strange swooping as something grabbed him before shooting into the sky.
'What is it now!' Atlas internally complained before noticing the monster carrying him for the regular Blood Bat.
He soon calmed down before pointing his hand at the monster's body as he cast Void Blast, which burrowed right through and shot out the other end. The monster let go of Atlas as the pain overwhelmed it, and he started to freefall toward the mountain below.
Without thinking, Atlas started casting Void Step to slow down, and it helped as after using it a few times, he crashed into the ground below, creating a crater. He lay in the middle as his body hurt, 'Why am I always injuring myself!'
Atlas shook his head before climbing out of the crater, only to realize that he was at the mountain's base that loomed high into the sky. While observing the landscape, he spotted a massive castle on one of the peaks.
Its dark stone walls were decorated by towers that seemed to pierce the sky. Atlas admired its imposing, ancient design and was thrilled at the prospect of the battles that awaited him within its walls.
The fortress's foreboding silhouette only fueled his anticipation, 'That's where I need to go,' he thought, steeling himself for the challenges ahead as he began his ascent toward the castle.
Atlas climbed up the side of the mountain until he found a staircase that made his ascent even easier. While trekking up, he checked his status after fighting the Blood Bats on his way there.

[Experience Gained: 3600]
[Core Points: 21850?24250]
'Two levels and some Core Points, not bad for a quick scuffle,' he mused.
Following that, Atlas continued until a group of three BloodBats targeted him. He had to cast Void Guard to defend himself against their claws before stabbing one of them whole and hitting another with a Void Arrow.
The fight lasted a few minutes, leaving only one of the monsters alive, but a roar rang out from the castle above. When the Blood Bat heard this, it fled from the scene, causing him to think, 'The boss wants to deal with me himself.'
It took him another ten minutes to reach the large wooden doors that would grant him access to the inside. Atlas went to touch it, but it suddenly opened, allowing him to see the inside.
The castle interior was a large hallway, with shadows covering everything except certain spots where fires lit up. Atlas wandered inside, gripping his weapons tighter, as he heard a swoosh above him.
He spun around, activated Void Sight, and spotted the Mini-Boss.
[Blood Bat King]
[Forth Sub-Boss]

'The same as the others but this one flies,' Atlas thought as something told him to jump to the side.
When he did that, claws scrapped against the stone floor. Atlas raised his hand and cast several Void Arrows that trailed behind the giant bat, which flew around pillars, trying to get rid of the spells.
As the monster did this, Atlas readied a Gravity Bomb, and the Bat King managed to lose the azure arrows as this hit the stone pillars. It aimed straight for him and readied its claws, but he threw the projectile at it.
When the little orb hit the monster, it suddenly slammed to the ground with a crash that caused the floor to shake. Atlas rushed forward, but the creature looked at him and let out a screech that sent him flying.
Atlas smashed into a fireplace before hitting the floor with a thud, but regardless of that, he noticed the monster was still stuck by the bomb, causing him to take out the Frostfall Bomb and throw it at the creature.
When it hit its torso, a cold blast erupted, covering the Mini-Boss in ice with only its large head free, Atlas chuckled but didn't waste the opportunity and dashed toward the monster, who screeched at him again.
He sidestepped the spell this time before using Void Step to lunge at the King bat and drive Nightblade through its head. Atlas unleashed a Void Blast that blew the monster's brain apart.
Blood and brain covered him, but the corpse soon vanished, leaving behind 10 gold coins and the last key. Atlas scooped them into his storage before preparing himself for the climb down.
As Atlas was about to proceed, a portal appeared in the middle of the hall, startling him. His initial shock faded when he peered through and recognized the other side: the familiar corridor with five branching paths.
He shook his head, dispelling his unease, and chose the main path, now illuminated by a row of flickering torches guiding his way. As Atlas walked, he remained alert and poised for battle, but to his surprise, no threats emerged from the shadows.
After a twenty-minute walk, Atlas reached a chamber with a massive metal door that gave him the creeps, but he recognized the aura coming off it, 'Chaos again! Are they infecting the world?' he thought.
Atlas shook his head and approached the door, taking out the four keys he'd collected before using them to open it. As the door opened, a familiar aura hit him that he experienced with Amethyst a while ago.
'Is this my first battle with a Chaos being?' he thought while stepping across the threshold, only for the door to close behind him as a male voice rang out.
''Little Voidwalker visits me first. How wonderful,'' it said in an amused tone.
Atlas spun around but couldn't see anything, only to feel someone tap his shoulder, ''This way, boy.''
He quickly turned and noticed a tall man with pale white skin, blood-red eyes, and a stood twice his size. The first thing that came to his mind when seeing this man was 'Vampire.'
Without thinking, he quickly aimed Nightblade at the newcomer's throat, who appeared shocked and backed off. Atlas chased after him while slashing at his limbs but then surprised the man by casting Void Arrows.
The azure blue projectiles sliced through the air and hit the vampire's chest, which sent the enemy flying back. After this, Atlas took the opportunity to use Void Sight.

'This is going to be tough,' Atlas mused with a smirk. 'But I can beat this Chaos scum.'
He used Void Step to rush up to the vampire, who turned around angrily and cast a spell that sent needles of blood slicing through the air. When Atlas saw this, he sidestepped them while casting Void Blast in the projectiles.
The vampire's eyes widened in stunned disbelief as Atlas bore down upon it. With a roar, the creature lashed out with razor-sharp claws. Atlas deflected one attack with deft precision, allowing the other to drive Nightblade and Blood Knife deep into the monster's shoulders.
Now, face-to-face with his second chaos enemy, Atlas's lips curled into a sinister smile. He unleashed a barrage of four Void Bullets that exploded within the boss's body, causing confusion as the creatures' insides were burned into dust.
''Ahhhh, you puny worm! How can you hurt me like this!'' the vampire bellowed before it writhed in agony; Atlas swiftly pulled back, only to be caught off guard by a powerful Blood Blast.
The force of the blast sent him hurtling through the air, crashing violently into the ground. Atlas lay there as the snapped bones began to repair themselves, causing him to groan. Once his sight returned to normal after going fuzzy, he spotted the vampire on one knee with no arms.
While watching his enemy, Atlas noticed the vampire was regenerating just as he was now. He struggled to his feet and aimed the blade at the creature's head before casting Void Bullet at it.
''If I die here, the king will avenge me. He will be glad to know the Voidwalker has returned,'' it said in a strained voice.
The spell soared through the air and connected with the shocked vampire, but once the explosion calmed down, Atlas used Void Step to get closer as he drove Nightblade into the creature's heart.
However, the vampire's fierce swipe sent Atlas sprawling through the air. Yet, with a swift flicker, he reappeared, his blade Nightblade gleaming with deadly intent. He thrust it into the creatures with a fierce strike, eliciting a guttural scream of agony from the Chaos being.
"Now die, vampire," Atlas declared with a steely gaze, "and tell the king I eagerly await his arrival." With that, he unleashed a torrent of Void Blasts into the man's writhing form, each explosion tearing through its body with devastating force.
Atlas was sent flying just as screeches could be heard as Blood Bats swooped down from the roof. He managed to cast Void Guard to block the first dive bomb, but as the second monster appeared, he stabbed into the creature's guts.
Drenched in blood and battered, Atlas plummeted to the floor below. But he cast Void Step and reappeared near the vampire's corpse, which was being drawn into the dungeon's depths.
The boss left behind a shiny silver token that caught his attention. He approached it and picked it up, only to use Void sight to find out what it was.
