Chapter 134: The Dungeon Boss
Chapter 134: The Dungeon Boss
Atlas collected ten black Monster Cores and continued through the creepy place he found himself in. The air smelled of rot, monsters, and death as he came upon a group of adventurers' gear.
'I wonder how they died,' he thought while checking out the scene around him.
It looked like they had been ambushed during their run and absorbed into the dungeon once they died. They left behind their broken and damaged gear, which consisted of rusted swords and a broken staff.
Atlas continued with his journey and made it through the resting area, only to spot another tunnel that would lead him to the next floor. He started traveling down it, and half an hour later, the ground started shaking.
'A big monster is coming,' he wondered excitedly. 'I bet its a Cave Troll.'
He readied his spells as a Cave Troll viciously burst out of the shadows with an earth-shaking roar. It dashed forward and swung its club towards him. Atlas narrowly avoided the crushing impact by leaning back.
The weapon whistled past just inches from his nose, causing him to think, 'That was close.'
Seizing the moment, he unleashed a Void Blast that slammed into the troll's face. The impact sent the beast staggering, its eyes wide with shock as it reeled backward. Atlas closed the distance without missing a beat, charging forward as the troll tried to recover.
When the troll club swung down in a desperate arc, Atlas sidestepped the attack, causing him to become a blur. He struck out with a powerful slash, carving through the monster's wrist and slicing open the flesh.
The weapon tumbled from the troll's grasp thanks to his attack, clattering to the ground as the monster howled in pain. Following that, Atlas cast Void Bomb at it before using Void Step to get away as it exploded.
Atlas held firm as the shockwave washed over the chamber, killing the Cave Troll with an azure blast of mana. He relaxed once, feeling the experience flowing into his body, causing him to smile.
'I love this feeling; it's refreshing,' he thought with a smile.
Following that battle, he continued traveling through the dungeon until reaching the next Sub-Boss after killing another five Cave Trolls and three Umber-Hulks with ease, thanks to his experience fighting them.
As he took a moment to catch his breath, Atlas reviewed his status one final time, preparing himself mentally for the impending battle with the monster and the challenge of the dungeon boss that awaited him.

'A few small gains, which is good,' Atlas mused. 'But it seems to be slowing down now and the battles are only getting easier.'
Atlas was now ready to enter the last arena where the Sub-Boss would be. This time, he decided to use his bombs, as he'd been forgetting about them. He took out a Flashbang Crystal while stepping onto the stone floor.
A shield suddenly appeared and encircled the arena, trapping Atlas inside as a voice dripping with malice reached his ears, ''So the king was right, and you've finally returned to try and stop us, but this time you're tiny.''
The taunting irritated him greatly, and he seethed inwardly, "I swear by Luxia, I'll turn this monster into nothing but meat paste."
Atlas looked in the voice's direction only to spot a massive troll over ten feet tall, built like a mountain with sickly green skin covered by armor. He gulped when he saw the monster's glowing red eyes staring at him with hunger.
"Deciding not to respond, little Voidwalker? You'll encounter many of my kind during your journey, and sooner or later, one of the generals will claim you," the being said with a dark, amused chuckle.
Atlas knew precisely what this thing was and scanned him using Void Sight.
[Cave Troll King]

[Keep moving and pepper it with spells]
'Oh no, I don't think I can fight this monster,' Atlas reconsidered but had to stop as he remembered he was trapped in the arena.
Atlas recalled the creatures under his command and decided to summon them for the upcoming battle. Turning to face the monstrous Troll King, he sneered in response, "Let's get this over with, chaos scum."
The Troll King responded with a guttural laugh, revealing a massive ball and chain, its spiked surface glinting ominously. With a menacing grin, the beast began spinning the weapon, the chain whistling through the air.
''I don't want to get hit by that thing,'' Atlas muttered.
He readied his blades and prepared his bombs before hurling the Flashbang Crystal at King Troll, who sidestepped the bomb. However, it exploded when it hit the floor, causing the creature to cover its eyes.
Atlas instantly reacted and threw an Inferno Bomb at the troll's chest, which erupted into a firestorm that caused it to stumble back. He dashed forward so fast that the air crackled around him before striking the monster's exposed ankles.
The blades cut through the flash, but Atlas had to swiftly use Void Step to dodge as the troll's spiked ball and chain crashed into the ground where he had just been. Reacting quickly, he reached into his pouches and retrieved a smoke bomb, hurling it in front of the monster as it turned toward him.
'Take this and see if you can deal with it,' he mused with a growing grin.
As the smoke billowed around the troll, Atlas hurled a Gravity Bomb. Upon impact, the massive creature was slammed to the ground, stunned for a few seconds. Seizing the opportunity, he launched two Void Bombs at the downed beast before quickly pulling back.
Atlas brought up Void Guard to protect himself from the shockwave that he felt in his chest; the dust and debris flew all over the place, but once it died down, he spotted the Troll King getting to its feet with damaged armor and an enraged expression on its face.
''Sneaky little demon! I will show you what it means to be a Chaos Captain!'' the monster declared before charging forward.
'No, you won't because I have a stronger monster to fight you with,' he thought with a smile.
When Atlas spotted this, he activated Dungeon Conquerer and summoned the Rank A Death Serpent. The large black snake-like monster flew out of the azure portal, which opened up and wrapped its elongated body around the Troll King.
''Fight that motherfucker; I have help, unlike some,'' Atlas muttered.
The Cave Troll King was shocked but couldn't do anything. The Death Serpent bit down on its head while Atlas rushed forward and stabbed the Nightblade into the monster's knees before casting Void Bullet, which blew it apart.
It came crashing down, allowing the Dungeon Monster to bite into the troll's skull before it popped out like a watermelon, causing Atlas grew excited as the Sub-Boss's experience flowed into him.
Afterward, Atlas carefully picked up a stunning blue Monster Core and stored it alongside the ten gold coins, a gesture that satisfied him. Sensing his contentment, the Death Serpent gently nudged him with its massive head, eliciting a smile from Atlas.
'These monsters are growing closer to me,' he mused. 'I can feel that they care for me.'
He affectionately stroked the serpent's scales, its red eyes glowing warmly. Once he had pampered the creature enough, Atlas mounted its back. Together, they traveled the final thirteen floors, reaching the Boss's Chamber on the fortieth floor.
When Atlas saw the bridge leading to the arena where he would be fighting the dungeon boss and unlocking it for his skill, he ordered the Death Serpent to cross the bridge while readying himself for battle.
A few minutes later, the two arrived and noticed the arena was the size of a football field, which gave them enough room to fight. Atlas glanced around and didn't see anything until a portal opened.
That's when he saw something fly out of the portal while letting out a heart-stopped roar, causing Atlas to scan the boss.
[Chaos Cave Wyvern]
[Chaos Touched]

'This is going to be hard but I can do it,' Atlas pondered. 'This will help me grow stronger!'
He got a good look at the wyvern circling above them. It had a midnight black hide with glowing red eyes. It was the same length as the Death Serpent and looked just as strong, causing Atlas to cast Void Barrage at the monster. Read exclusive content at m_v-l'-NovelBin.net
The azure projectiles sliced through the air and peppered the wyvern's body, causing it to roar before swooping down on them. Atlas waited for its attack, but the Death Serpent lunged into the air and managed to bite down on one of its wings.
Atlas watched as the sudden attack brought the wyvern crashing to the ground. Still, it retaliated fiercely, using its teeth and claws to shred at the serpent's body, sending blood cascading down.
He cheered excitedly, but his enthusiasm faltered as the wyvern delivered a crushing bite to the snake's spine, snapping it in a devastating blow. Atlas was shocked but started casting Void Arrows into the monster's body.
'This spell will pierce its thick hide, allowing me to attack with my swords,' Atlas thought excitedly.
