Chapter 104 [Bonus Chapter] Roy vs. Damari
Chapter 104 [Bonus Chapter] Roy vs. Damari
This cave was very big, more than 15 kilometers maybe.
Many groups of 4-5 attacked him as he headed inside.
But he slew all of them in a familiar fashion, burning them to ashes with fire.
Finally, after an hour, he could be seen standing before a 30-meter gateway made out of swirling gray mist that separated the part of the cave where he was from whatever was inside.
Roy gazed at it. “What a unique-looking thing.” He touched it and saw it rippling like water. With a little bit of force, he was able to push his hands inside it. “The Lord of the fire temple might be behind it. I guess I’ve no choice but to go through it.”
And then… he crossed it, entering the other side.
?Ding! You’ve stepped on the Volcano-Suppressing Bridge.?
The bridge was narrow and long. It was supported by pillars sprouting out of churning lava. Suspicious carvings could be seen on each of them. Maybe it was the reason the lava hasn’t eaten them away.
On the opposite end of the pillar was a giant bird cage. Inside it, a young boy could be seen chained to the metal bars. An altar was in the middle of this cage. On top of it was a bird-like item. Roy only needed a single gaze to tell that It was the Erector.
A 4-meters tall monster was before the cage. It was a Green Wolf that was standing on two legs and made out of countless thick leaves and branches twined around each other..
Its eyes were completely black, and they turned to Roy, reflecting him.
“This is no place for you to be, human. Begone!” It said. Its voice was raspy and harsh. And honestly, it was commanding and looking down on Roy.
Roy replied powerfully, “No, this is exactly where I want to be.”
“I don’t like bloodshed, but I won’t hesitate to slay you if you are to confront me.” It said menacingly.
“We stand on opposite sides. Whether you like it or not, we’ll have to fight.” While Roy was saying this, wisps of mana could be seen gushing out of his body, dancing above his palm.
“Then, this will be your grave!” After speaking, it moved towards him, step by step, as if it was a mountain crumbling towards Roy.
“Bam!”
An instant later, a fireball exploded on its face, destroying half of it and setting it on fire
?[0)??? ?You’ve landed a Fireball on the Lord of the Lava Temple, Damari. It was a critical strike. Damari lost 200 HP! Damari is set on fire. Damari will lose 20 HP per second.?
Damari liked this place because it helped it grow faster than the remaining Man-Eating Flowers. It was the evolved version of one. But its resistance against fire was still too pathetic. It was quite ironic how scorching hot places were the best for it to grow while any type of fire was a deadly poison for it.
?Damari?
?HP: 1800/2000 ?
It immediately shed the part of its body that was on fire.
Then… Leaves and branches gushed out of its neck, slowly recreating its lost body parts and head.
It looked like it had recovered, but Roy could see a part of its HP missing from the HP bar floating above its head.
It was easy for Damari to look him down because he was bigger than Roy.
Directing a disdainful look Roy’s way, It said, “Is that all you got?”
“Not really.” Roy scoffed, “But you’re too weak to have a true taste of me.”
Pissed off by his words, it pounced towards him.
?FireBall?
Roy moved his hands back and forth in a thrusting motion. One fireball, and then a second one, and then a third one, and then several more shot out of his palm, exploding on the monster that was in mid-air, blasting it back to the cage.
Damari smashed on it, causing its bar to bent in.
?Ding! Damari has been struck with six FireBalls and thus lost 1200 HP. ?
Roy looked at its Hp.
?HP: 600/2000.?
While walking close to it, he created two more FireBalls and blasted its body that lacked its original look as it was missing legs, a head, and arms.
“Boom!” “Bam!” “Bam!”
Three of Roy’s handmade fireballs crashed on its head, putting it to sleep for eternity!
?Ding! Congratulation. You’ve killed a level 17 Boss Monster. You get 170 EXP and a +17 points increase in the size of your Mana Bar.?
This was his easiest battle to date.
It wouldn’t have been so easy if it wasn’t a monster weak against fire.
It was burned to ashes.
Roy took out the most eye-catching things from the pile.
?Ding! You’ve acquired a Nature Type Elemental Core. It is quite helpful to True Mages. Merchants would be quite happy to purchase it!?
He pocketed it.
He went inside the birdcage, walked up to the altar without sparing the captured person a glance, and grabbed the Erector.
‘With this, I will be able to put off the barrier and destroy the magic circle.’ He thought, feeling somewhat happy.
Unaware he was of the pair of desperate eyes that were on him.
The young boy, that looked worse than beggars because he was covered in ashes, bound and all, said to Roy, “Hey, when are you going to help me? Don’t tell me you’re not planning to set me free.”
His voice was weak, signifying that he hadn’t eaten for days, which could be seen in his figure.
“Don’t mistake me for being heartless.” He didn’t immediately help the boy because, well, the runic item had hooked all his attention. Now that it was safe with him, he immediately used his sword to cut the chains binding the young boy, setting him free.
Roy helped him stand up.
“Ouch!”
But the moment he let go of him, he fell to his butts.
“Are you fine?” Roy asked the boy in a concerned tone like a proper human being.
