Chapter 164 A new quest!

?You have digested an advanced-grade recovery potion?

?An all-powerful healing power has healed your internal and external wounds?

In the time it takes for a person to blink an eye, all the wounds on Roy’s body closed up.

He felt refreshed.

The system’s notification sounded in his mind again.

?What was left of it has infused with your bone marrow, prompting it to urgently produce the few mouthfuls of blood you lost?

?Your lost HP bars have been recovered?

?Hp: 10/10?

Roy’s eyes widened.

He was taken aback.

‘What the heck did I just drink? Why is it so effective and powerful at doing what it says — healing people? Drinking just one recovery potion nullified all damage done to my blood vessels, internal organs, bones, and skin due to breaking my first chains of limitation. I no longer feel exhausted. That must be because it’s like an energizer. Red bulls give you imaginary wings, but it gave me a boost to rival unicorns for real. Unbelievable!’

He no longer felt dead tired or drained of energy.

He clenched and unclenched his hands, feeling a wonderful power coursing under his skin and through his veins.

Previously, he was on his last leg, but after drinking the potion, he was full of such vibrant energy that he felt ready to unshackle the next one.

He did not know that the healing potion he drank wasn’t simple.

It was created by Arlo, the third hidden blade of the emperor, by using the rarest of herbs in the Far West.

He was a terrifying fighter because he had utmost control over his aura and could use it to knock out a thousand knights with a glance. That’s something known to everyone who knew his real identity. What was hidden from them was that he also possessed unrivaled alchemy skills.

Although his knowledge of alchemy was limited to only items useful in war, he could produce healing potions of the finest quality.

One of them is the one Roy just drank, which brought him back from death’s doorstep, a feat that was nothing short of a miracle.

“It must have cost quite a fortune.” Roy gave his uncle a look of gratitude. “Thank you for letting me use it.”

“It’s all right. Actually, I thought you would need more than one try to remove the limiter on your raw power since it took Badulf nine tries and me three to do it. So, I prepared a dozen more advanced-grade recovery potions for you. Yet it took you only one try. In 2 minutes, you removed it, and now, although you’re still an unawakened, you have the potential to physically grow stronger than Weapon Masters. You are one hell of a Baldwin! No… you are the monster with the strongest potential Far West Realm has ever seen.”

Because of being praised so much by a man of undetermined strength, Roy felt shy.

“What made you so certain that I would succeed?” Roy questioned.

“We are of the Baldwin Clan; not just any human can be compared to us. I was able to do it; your father was able to do it too. It’s because we are magic warriors, unlike Noah and Arthur. Their bloodlines were too diluted. They failed to exhibit Baldwin’s traits. But you’re just like us. You’re both a knight and a mage. Thus, I was certain you would be able to do it too.” Arlo explained the reason behind his confidence.

Roy was not ignorant of Baldwin being special and superior to nobles and commoners alike because of their bloodline.

? He’d heard that being a Baldwin is a blessing in and of itself.

After all, Baldwin’s bloodline could be inherited.

Some say that’s why the Emperor had his sister marry Badulf. Then he made Badulf’s daughter marry his son, the empire’s crown prince. Rumors have it that he was eying their bloodline.

Roy had also experienced the benefits of being a Baldwin himself.

The Baldwins were so ridiculously innately talented that others didn’t consider them humans.

His bloodline ability, Power Boost, was the greatest proof of that.

“What makes us Baldwins different than others?”

The emperor and influential people valued them for their bloodline. But why was their blood so special? Just where did the power in their blood come from?

“A lot of things. You might be privy to some. But I am sure you don’t know about our roots.” With a mysterious smile on his face, Arlo said.

Roy scratched his chin thoughtfully.

‘Who was the ancestor of Baldwin? He wasn’t mentioned in the novel. But he must be something!’

Arlo was wearing a waist pouch.

He unzipped it.

A ring was taken out of it and thrown to Roy.

Roy inspected it.

The image of a dozen potions filled his vision.

“You’re giving all these precious potions to me?!”

“Mm-hmm, they were meant for you. It’s only right that they end up with you. Don’t abuse them, though. Use them when absolutely necessary. If you got addicted to advanced-grade recovery potions at such a young age, it wouldn’t take long for you to become immune to potions of lower grades.” Arlo warned Roy.

“I understand. If I am not at my last breath, I won’t take it.”

For quick access to life-saving potions, Roy wore the inter-spatial ring on his pinky.

Suddenly, a realization hit him, and he eyed Arlo suspiciously.

“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” Arlo felt disturbed by the way he was weirdly looking at him.

“Why are you so good to me? Are you a secret admirer of my mother?” Roy teased him by using his elbow to poke his chest.

“Brat, you are not allowed to imagine ridiculous things in your mind. I met your mother when she was close to death. That was the first and last time I saw her. How could I have developed feelings for her in such a short time? Not to mention, I am fiercely loyal to your aunt, my wife. I will never betray her.” Arlo passionately kneaded Roy’s head, which was full of useless thoughts.

“Not this time.” Roy escaped his well-deserved punishment by turning into a cloud of mist.

?-6 energy?

?Remaining Energy: 600 units?

He flew towards the carriage.

Just then, the system’s notification popped into his vision.

?Ding! The condition to activate the quest, “Remove the Second Limiter,” has been met!?
