Chapter 264 Rank-5 Spirit's trump card

Chapter 264 Rank-5 Spirit's trump card

As the knives inched near them, Roy and Tevenlor looked at each other from the corners of their eyes and nodded.

Time seemed to pass slowly for them.

Basically, they were so fast that their actions couldn’t be registered by a normal person, and they could take in hundreds of times more information than one in a split of a second too.

“Let’s work together to suppress it.”

They silently communicated with each other and used their aura and mana to create walls before using Force to solidify them so much that they became harder than divine steel.

They did all that before the 1000 knives could reach them, acting together to create multiple layers of defense that had a high chance of thwarting the rank-5 anomaly’s signature move

Tevenlor’s defensive spell, Divine Wall, was authentic.

Roy’s was just an imitation of it.

But when their walls overlapped, it looked like they could stop anything.

Clang!

This sound rang out countless times as the deadly assault of a thousand knives showered on the overlapping divine walls, successfully piercing through one but failing to break through the other, getting stuck in it.

What happened next widened their eyes, and they stepped back.

“Poison is dripping out of these things.”

“Stay away from them.”

Sizzling noises were heard as the poison dripping out of them melted both of the two defensive walls that Roy and Tevenlor had set up in the split of a second, reducing them to nothing.

With the wall separating the two parties gone, they were now facing each other.

They met eyes with it across the hall, the tension in the air thickening.

It looked past them, staring viciously at the Formless Siren.

She trembled like a drenched cat, feeling scared of it.

Roy grabbed her hand and hid her behind him, blocking it from seeing her.

She felt safe standing behind him.

“Oh, you survived that? What an unexpected surprise.” The rank-5 anomaly was a bit alarmed to see them survive its sure-kill move, but it didn’t let that affect it negatively. “Let’s see you survive this!”

A red glow made of fiery wisps swirling around each other appeared in the eyes of the skulls hovering around it.

They were its subordinates.

Each of them was a rank-3 anomaly.

Rank-4 anomalies were strong enough to wipe the floor with Weapon Masters.

They were equal to aura masters in terms of power level.

“Annihilate them. As for this brat, you can go as far as killing him, but his body mustn’t be harmed.”

The rank-5 anomaly commanded, and the glows in the skulls’ eye sockets intensified.

“Chaotic Beam!”

Whoosh!

An instant after that, thick, hot, laser-like beams made of chaotic energy shot out of their eye sockets continuously, showing no signs of stopping.

The air between the two sides was filled with them in what seemed like a blink of an eye.

All of them barreled down on Roy, Tevenlor, and the Female Siren, threatening to end them!

“Too slow.”

Roy’s lips lazily stretched back into a smile as he released a barrage of all the spells he knew, ranging from rank-6 fireballs to a hurricane made of countless blue bullets and, at the same time, hundreds of black streaks of electricity surged forth from within his chest, fusing with his spells, which collided with the enemies’ beams in mid-air.

Boom! The sound of countless explosions rang out as the two met, deafening everyone. From the point of impact, terrifying shockwaves, thunderbolts, and fiery waves burst out in all directions, destroying the walls and creating endlessly stretching cracks on the roof and the floor.

Some of them struck the skulls, melting and exploding them.

The system’s notification rang in Roy’s ears.

?Ding! Congratulation. You have killed two rank-3 anomalies. You get 600 EXP and 40 pieces of red orbs?

Some smashed on the rank-5 anomaly’s chest, hurling it away like a ragdoll.

?A critical hit has landed on the rank-5 anomaly.?

It lost 1000 HP, and its HP bar has shrunk to one-third of its original size.

These notifications of the system rang in Roy’s ears as waves of three different kinds came toward him and his party members like waves.

Just as it looked like they would be swallowed by them, Roy waved his hand.

Magically, the fire died out.

The crackling electric currents in the air instantly bowed down to him.

Waves of heat disappeared, and it stopped thundering!

“This is like magic.”

The Formless Siren felt amazed by this. Her husband was too cool!

“How the heck does he have such control over lightning and fire?”

Tevenlor was shocked by the stunt Roy had just pulled off. For a second, he refused to believe his eyes.

Whoosh!

Only the raw shockwaves dared advance towards the three of them. Roy had control over lightning and fire, but he had no control over the wind. He couldn’t stop it and could only evade or dodge it.

Roy released a massive wave of darkness.

It might seem like it was only made of his black aura and didn’t stand a chance against the disastrous shockwaves that destroyed the solid walls near the point of impact, but the truth is, their outer layer was coated in Arrow Force.

They were semi-solid, harder than steel.

Roy flicked his wrist coldly, and it encircled them.

The shockwaves struck it and then dissipated.

The result of this clash was that not a single one of them was hurt. However, the rank-five spirit lost two capable subordinates and was severely injured.

“Is that the best you can do?” Roy mocked it, staring it down like a predator looking at its prey.

“You had two choices. Come with me and let the elder spirit decide your fate or die by my hands and get your corpses taken to him. But since you have resisted me time and time again, you are only left with one.” It smiled at them hideously. “And that’s death!”

It was still to use its true trump card. Once it brings it out, it had no doubt that they would be defeated!
