Chapter 332 Memoir Of The Past: Reviving And Killing (Part-3)
"Yes, I indeed have." Damien nodded at her before he looked at everyone with a serious face, saying to them, "Don't be shocked by what you are about to hear next."
He told them why they were attacked. He also told them about who was behind it. They had the right to know about it, as they were involved in this mess against their wish.
"You were harmed because Chaos wanted what belonged to me."
However, in the end, not only were all of its plans foiled by the Water Celestial, but Damien also tapped into his innate power and became unbelievably powerful.
Hearing what he said, the surprise of the onlookers quadrupled, and their eyes widened beyond the size of saucers, threatening to pop out of their eye sockets.
Although he told them not to be shocked, they still were. It was too much for them to digest in a moment and still remain calm.
"Haha." Damien couldn't help but laugh when he saw the stupid expression on their faces. "Please close your mouths before you swallow a fly."
"Young master, you are amazing!"
"Chaos is the worst enemy of the empire, yet you overcame it."
"That's impressive."
They didn't feel offended by his words and instead praised him in unison.
He had brought them back from death. They couldn't hate him even if he demanded them to sacrifice themselves for him.
None of them knew that the price Damien was going to pay for accessing his innate power was his "life." That wasn't told to them as he didn't want them to feel sad or do anything stupid.
Damien narrowed his eyes. In the eyes of the onlookers, he looked to be deep in thought.
"I can't sustain it for long. I don't have much divine power left."
He had revived everyone the Alliance of Evil killed tonight, but at what cost?
It had cost him an arm and a leg.
No, he didn't literally lose them.
But that act went against the natural law of the world, and it alone had caused his divine power to take a massive plunge. It depleted each time he revived a person. Now, after he had revived dozens of people, he only had 3/10th of his divine power left.
Damien sighed. He had spent more than 2/3rd of it reviving people. But he wasn't sad, nor did he regret it. If he had gone back in time, he would have chosen to do the same.
Divine power was a precious resource.
Humans didn't know it existed.
The awakened knew about it, but they could only dream of it.
The Gods have it, but they would kill for Damien's divine power because of its rarity.
Yet, he used up much of it just to revive mortals.
Gods above would have laughed like fools if they knew about it.
Damien was no fool. He knew he was giving up something held in high regard by even Gods in exchange for reviving them. But he still did it. He was innately good, even if he didn't show it on his face. That was his defining trait.
"Maybe with this power, I can also revive her?"
Not being able to save Sisi, aka Cecilia, was Damien's biggest regret. A good amount of time has passed since her funeral, but he still hasn't forgotten about her. She was always in his mind.
He tried to bring her back from the dead.
But he failed.
Instead, he pulled out the soul of the rebels that were recently killed by Eldwin. These souls floated out of the pillar of light that had brightened up the night in a daze. Their souls looked like their human form but were tainted with countless black dots. Maybe that signified that they were sinners. The blurriness in their eyes vanished soon after, and they took in their surroundings.
"How ruthless." Their eyes were filled with fear for the man who was hacking their companions one by one. They looked away from him, not knowing that he had also chopped their bodies like a man cutting a tree.
A second later, they wailed as they noticed their bodies had been cut into pieces.
"I have died?" The souls muttered in disbelief. "I don't accept it!"
They screeched at the sight of their dismembered bodies, visibly unwilling to believe they were dead. Howling and wailing, they charged down the air like a malevolent birds and attacked the innocent passerby. They had died once while fighting them. Damien had no intention of letting the same thing repeat again.
"Too loud," Damien glared at them, revealing a bone-chilling smile as he raised his hand, the divine power glowing out of his finger successfully condensed into daggers.
Whoosh!
The milky white weapons suddenly shot forward. The world trembled under their destructive might. Unable to bear it, the fabric of reality cracked. They were so ridiculously sharp that they tore open space!
The daggers blinked out of existence, and when they reappeared, they were already in front of the souls. They stabbed the souls viciously, causing them to inflate endlessly.
Soul was like a balloon. It could only be inflated to a certain point. After that, it would explode!
Boon!
There was a loud bang in the sky, and the souls of the sinners exploded. These rebels died in the truest of senses.
Damien closed shut the pillar of light, afraid that he would attract more trouble and exhaust all his divine power if he forced it any longer.
Damien then looked towards his people.
They were safe and safe but obviously awed by his display of might.
Some of them were missing an arm or two. Some were missing half of their body. The intestine of some was sticking out of their bellies. All in all, these people could be considered biologically dead. But surprisingly, they were still alive, sustained by his divine power.
"Pick up the pieces of your body scattered throughout the rose garden and come to me when your name is called." Damien suddenly said to them.
They did as he said and quickly picked up their body parts from the ground.
"Darlene Grummer."
"Yes!"
"Jacon Mantoki!"
"Yes!"
"Reylight Ametis!"
"Yes!"
When he called their name, they went up to him, and he reformed their bodies and healed them to perfection using his divine power.
His divine power was depleted once again as a result.
