Chapter 37
Chapter 37
There was little to no distance between Roy and the Yellow troglodyte.
It knew it wouldn’t survive his attack, just like its partner.
Thus, It decided to take him down to hell with it and opened its mouth.
“Whoosh!”
Roy stabbed his sword, Reflection, to the front of the Yellow troglodyte’s chest as it charged up its ultimate poisoning shot.
Just as it was about to discharge it, Roy’s sword changed its direction and shot into its mouth, stabbing the ball, instantly destabilizing it.
The Yellow troglodyte’s eyes widened in fear.
Bomb!
The ball of yellowish poison burst in its mouth, exploding its head as Roy let go of the sword stuck inside its flesh and jumped back, taking cover from the poison splashing everywhere.
The grasses kissed by it melted down to ashes.
It hadn’t done Roy any harm, but it did make him look like a beggar by opening up several holes in his clothes.
?Ding! Congratulations. You’ve killed two troglodytes of the ninth level. You gained 180 EXP. The skills Roll, Duck, and Sprint have been generated.?
Roy’s hair was no longer standing on edge. The danger has passed. He stood up. The three skills he just got were passive. He could now Roll, Duck, and Sprint 10% faster than just a minute ago.
He checked his health.
?HP: 9.3/10?
It was above 9.
He was safe.
However, his sword wasn’t.
The system’s notifications rang in his mind.
?The bone-melting Spit has tainted Reflection, causing its durability to decrease by 3?
?Reflection’s Durability: 7/10!?
Roy could see the Durability value of every weapon by inspecting them. If a Durability of an item drops to 0, it would either corrode, become dull and useless or break apart into pieces. His sword had lost almost one-third of its life. He felt the need to be less rough with it!
“This sword is impressive. It’s better than the ones I found in the weapon master and the training ground. I won’t let it die out like a candlelight. As soon as I find a way out of this dungeon, I will go to the smithy and have the blacksmith repair it.” Roy promised to treat this cherished sword of his with extreme care.
A dungeon usually has two exists. The first can be found anywhere in a dungeon. If one were lucky, they would find it just by taking a walk. The second exists only opens after the Boss of the Dungeon was defeated.
He got close to their corpses and got to work.
?The dissection Passive Skill has helped you.?
He methodically skinned and chopped up the monsters as he was a born butcher and not a noble.
?Ding! Congratulations. You’ve dissected two monsters. You gained +2 EXP in your Dissertation Skill.?
From the two troglodyte corpses, he found two beast cores of different types. They were of different types. Some increased strength and agility. The others improved vitality, stamina, and so on. The ones Roy found increased the capacity of a mage’s mana pool. Mages were crazy for cores like this. It wasn’t wrong to say they would go ballistic if he put these cores up for auction. He also found a sack of poison from the yellow troglodyte.
All of them went into his subspace.
….
Somewhere far away, A fruit ripened.
The smell of a famous dessert filled the air.
Suddenly, Roy smelled something sweet in the air. It tasted like custard. There was only one Magic fruit that had a smell like that, he recalled. It was a very, very precious fruit. Its smell would ignite the greed of both humans and beasts, maddening them.
Greed had also gotten the better of Roy.
His feet stepped towards the source of the mystifying scent.
On his way there, he saw a group of troglodytes
Their backs were to him.
He hurriedly crouched down, hiding behind the thick grasses.
Soon, he saw them walking towards the place where he was headed.
He chased after them and mistakingly stepped on a patch of dry grass, causing satisfying crunchy noise to fill the air.
It was ignored by three of the monsters.
One of them, however, heard something and turned around, looking in the direction where Roy once was.
Finding nothing, it followed after the other.
Roy, who had hidden within the grasses to escape notice, stalked them.
After a short walk, he chased them to a massive tree in the center of the clearing. Fruits hung on its thick, vibrant branches. They were around 20 of them, but only one of them had ripened.
Seeing them, the monster’s eyes turned red, and saliva overflowed their mouth.
“Swoosh!”
Roy immediately launched an assassination on the frogs. Jumping out of his hiding spot, he slashed out with his sword, immediately beheading one of the four monsters. Its head hadn’t dropped to the ground when Roy’s sword stabbed into the chest of another, exploding its heart. He pulled out his sword. One of the troglodytes moved to attack him, but he nonchalantly slapped him in the face with his sword and jumped on the yellowish-colored one, cutting off its legs at a lightning-fast speed. It fell down to the ground and raised its head to glare at Roy with maddened eyes. Roy didn’t let it make an attack and beheaded it immediately. The one left soon followed after its group to hell.
?Ding! Congratulations. You’ve killed four level 8 dungeon monsters. You gained +320 EXP.?
Roy ignored their corpses and charged toward the towering tree.
Unless the ripened fruit disappeared, more and more monsters would be attracted to this place.
He needed to put it in the subspace to stop it from aggroing all the monsters in the field!
Just as he was going to jump to grab it, a sort of sixth sense tingled at the back of his head violently, notifying him that he was in immense danger.
Roy’s eyes widened like saucers as he came to a sudden halt.
At this moment, he could feel death’s hand going for his neck!
Advancing meant death!
He immediately jumped back.
Bam!
Right then, A white creature shot out from under the ground, charging towards the right side of his neck.
