Chapter 458 [Bonus ]Bandits? Bad Addicts!
?
While chatting with Julian, Roy continued to pour his energy into the fruits, causing them to grow bigger and brighter.
"What are these? Some sort of magical fruits?" Julian asked.
"Yes, they're called Seven Stars and Three Blessings." Roy replied, "They're capable of evolving class weapons!"
That sounded so valuable that Julian's eyes almost popped out.
"Oh My Sun! How did you manage to amass three of such treasures," Julian exclaimed.
Arlo and Damien didn't seem entirely surprised, but their expressions still revealed a hint of shock.
"Just my luck, I guess," Roy replied humbly.
Damien chuckled, "To have so many priceless magic fruits of the same kind in your possession, you must be the luckiest person alive!"
A while after, a notification sounded in Roy's ears.
?Ding! You have successfully cultivated the Seven Stars and Three Blessings Fruits?
After Roy had fed 5000 units of pure mana to each fruit, they became fully ripped!
He had three of them in his possession.
He would use two after awakening, and the last one would be given to Delilah.
Brake!
The carriage jolted to a sudden stop, jarring Roy's grip on the plump, ripe fruits he held in his hands, causing them to jump out!
He breathed sharply as he watched in horror as the fruit threatened to spill out onto the carriage's floor!
'No way! I can't let that happen!' Roy thought, reacting quickly to the situation at hand.
In a split second, he opened a subspace portal beneath the fruits, and they vanished into the void.
Phew~
It was a close call, but he had saved the fruits from certain destruction. That single second of horror had almost made his heart explode, but now he felt relieved, and he wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead with ease.
Roy looked up at Arlo and asked, "Why did the carriage come to a sudden halt?"
"We have encountered some trouble," Arlo responded.
As Roy peered out of the window, he saw a gang of bandits obstructing their path.
"Bandits? How dare they impede our journey!" Roy exclaimed.
"They are nothing more than a bunch of lowly ruffians seeking to make some quick money. Remain inside the carriage. I will handle them," Arlo commanded, stepping out of the carriage and advancing toward the bandits.
The remaining passengers in the carriage gazed at him with rapt attention.
The bandits didn't appear to be pushovers. Although most of them had yet to awaken their powers, their leader and vice-leaders seemed to be at the peak of the Aura Master realm!
Arlo glared at the bandits who had dared to threaten him. "What do you want?" he asked, his voice full of impatience.
"We want your women and treasures, baldy. Hand them over now, or we will take them by force!" growled the leader of the bandits. He was a tall, muscular man with a scar running down his cheek.
Arlo's expression grew serious. "I don't have time for this," he said firmly.
"How dare you disrespect us!" yelled the bandit leader, insulted by Arlo's dismissive attitude. Without warning, the bandits launched an attack.
Bam!
Arlo's eyes narrowed as he punched the air with all his might. A furious wind erupted, so powerful that it seemed to shake the very foundations of the world!
Thud! Thra! Thud!
The charging bandits were lifted off their feet and flung backwards, crashing into trees with bone-crushing force. One of the bandits managed to escape Arlo's attack by using his underground escape technique. But before he could launch a surprise attack from behind, Arlo spun around and delivered a solid slap to his face.
"Pa!"
The bandit was sent hurtling to the ground, every fiber of his being contorting in pain. That single slap from Arlo had changed his facial structure and turned his brain into mush!
The remembering bandits were shocked to a standstill by his amazing display of power.
"How can a peak-stage weapon master be slapped to death?!"
"Is he really human?!"
"You fools! What are you staring at?! Attack him together and overwhelm him with numbers!" the bandit leader bellowed angrily.
Following his command, the aura masters among the bandits took the lead this time, charging towards Arlo with all their might.
"You're acting recklessly because you don't understand what you're up against. Allow me to enlighten you," Arlo sneered, activating his Dragon's Eye skill.
The pressure emanating from him was so heavy that the surrounding area shook. The air vibrated, and the trees lost all their leaves, withering as if they had faced a drought. It seemed like the world was welcoming its end!
Boom!
The pressure crashed onto the vice leaders of the bandits like a calamity.
The weapons in their hands shattered into pieces, and they were forced onto their knees!
???d?---n??a| ?om They tried to resist it, but the more they endured, the harder it became. What felt like a mere second to Arlo felt like an hour to the bandits. Under the gaze of his draconian eyes, their bones shattered in the first three seconds, and their hearts exploded in the sixth second.
Arlo could sense that these men were sinners with a lot of innocent blood in their hands, and so he had showed them no mercy, swiftly dispatching them!
Amidst the dead bodies, the leader of the bandits drew his sword and infused it with his formidable ability, making it heavier than Mount Tai.
Seeing that Arlo's attention was on the corpses, the bandit leader lunged at him.
"Ha! This sword weighs thousands of tons. You shall be crushed by it!" the bandit leader boasted as he brought down the sword.
Arlo calmly replied, "I doubt it."
The bandit leader was surprised into pissing himself as Arlo caught the blade between his fingers and snapped it into pieces with ease.
The bandit leader stared at Arlo with a mix of terror and disbelief.
He then turned around and fled as fast as he could, thinking to himself, "What kind of monster have I encountered?"
"There is no escape," Arlo said as he moved with extraordinary speed.
The bandit leader was intercepted in no time.
Without uttering a word, Arlo punched him, causing the bandit leader's body to explode into a mess of flesh and blood.
"The problem is no more," proclaimed Arlo with a sense of accomplishment as he made his way back to the carriage and restarted its engine.
Julian's eyes widened in amazement as he expressed his admiration, "Uncle Arlo, you truly are remarkable!"
The others were equally impressed.
Roy got a better understanding of the difference that existed between him and a Realm Lord. It was a huge chasm that he still needed to cross.
Damien, on the other hand, brushed his hair back with a flick of his hand and remarked, "You could have dealt with them even more swiftly if you had unleashed the full extent of your prowess."
Arlo, however, merely rolled his eyes in response to his son's comment and retorted, "Says the freeloader in my carriage."
