Chapter 96

Chapter 96

Only a couple of seconds later, Roy felt something moving toward him. It was not his senses playing a trick on him. That was confirmed when the sight of a group of green coyotes appeared at the edge of his vision.

“Ahh, that vulture was cawing to direct them to me.” Roy cursed it as a sneaky bastard before he stored it in his subspace. As it was a chaotic monster, its meat couldn’t be consumed, but the rest of its body should net him a hundred gold.

The monsters were a bit far. At the rate they were moving, it would take them half a minute to surround Roy. But the hair on the back of his neck was standing on the edge as if danger was far near him than he thought. Roy didn’t take this sign as false. He immediately turned around and noticed two Coyotes jumping out of the pool, immediately rushing towards him.

These bastards had sneaked all the way when he was fighting the vulture, all so that they could sneak attack him.

But their sneak attack obviously failed as Roy caught sight of them.

“I should deal with them before the rest gets here.” Roy rushed towards them.

The second he entered their attacking range, they paused, a poisonous green hue appearing on their claws. It was so poisonous that the grasses close to it were burned dark and turned to nothing. Another empty patch was immediately created in this lust land. They pounced on Roy. Roy was like a fish in water, easily slipping past the range of their attacks and moving behind them.

“Whoosh!” “Chop!” “Chop!”

With one clear swing of his swords, he beheaded them.

Right then, a system’s notification rang in his mind.

?Ding! Congratulation. You killed two poisonous coyotes of the ninth and tenth levels, respectively. You get 190 EX +2 increase in your MP bar.?

“Woo-oo-wow!”

The group of seven coyotes sprinted out from between the trees, surrounding Roy in the grassy area. They were cautiously circling him while glaring at him. He looked over them to stare at that dark spot created by the canopy of the trees blocking the sun in which dozens of series of green dots could be seen. They were the glows produced by the eyes of beasts; he could feel it.

Roy pointed his way at them. They realized that he had noticed them.

“Come out and face me.” He shouted commandingly.

Stepping out of their hiding spot, hundreds of coyotes approached him with murderous intent.

The ones surrounding him saw that reinforcement had arrived and immediately closed on him.

Reflected in his eyes were coyotes pouncing on him from all sides.

“A foolish choice.” He spun in a circle with the swords in his hands extended outwards; their sharp surfaces drew horizontal lines in the body of the beasts in mid-air. Immediately after, one could see them splitting into two. From two, the number of corpses around him increased to 7.

He stood in the center of a grotesque scene. Yet, to the many coyotes, he was still their meal. They were extremely ferocious and also cannibals. They eat their kind. And they had no intention of stopping the hunt. Since it had begun, they would see it through to the bitter end.

Roy saw through them, and his expression hardened. “If you think you can overpower me with your numbers, you’re greatly mistaken. The likes of you are not my match!”

His words fell on deaf ears.

Sadly, These monsters couldn’t understand human speech.

“Woo-oo-wow!”

“Woo-oo-wow!”

“Woo-oo-wow!”

A hundred were attacking him, yet he looked as casual as ever while dodging their attacks. They could be seen pouncing, clawing, and biting at him. And he could be seen dancing his way away from them while swinging his sword to strike a coyote or two dead.

That’s how he broke out of their encirclement.

And that’s when he was face to face with all of them.

He immediately swung his sword, Reflection, in a horizontal line, and as it moved from left to right, flashes of brilliance bursts out of its sword.

?Wave of Moonlight?

Arcs shaped like a crescent moon rained down on them like torrential rain, chopping them up like they were some new year’s sacrificial pigs.

?Ninam’s First Song: Roar of the Sword.?

Reflection was swung again, but this time, a ray of sword light gushed out its tip. As if it was paint and its surrounding, a canvas, the sword ray drew a perfectly horizontal line in the fabric of reality that charged ahead. The roar of the sword passed through the coyotes like a hot knife through butter. Whatever it passed through was split in two.

?Ding! Congratulation. You’ve destroyed the Vanguards of the Coyote Small Force in an instant. You get 1000 EXP points and a +20 Increase in your MP Bar. You have gained the title of The Small Army Destroyer. This title increases your STR and END by 10 points!?

“Equip it.”

?You’ve your Title to Small Army Destroyer. ?

?Strength +10?

?Endurance +10?

There were still 1-3rd of the coyote left. He tried to take them out with a Roar of the Sword. But this time, these monsters were prepared for him. They opened their mouth wide. A ridiculous amount of mana fluctuation was felt as a green ball of poison formed at the back of their throat. And then it shot out. If there were just one, it wouldn’t be much of a problem. But around a hundred of them could be seen blasting through the air.

“Boom!”

A large number of poisonous spits clashed with the Roaring Sword, immediately exploding.

But… the roar also died out.

Roy’s expression fell. An unpleasant taste was felt in his mouth. Strength was in number. He was alone, and that’s why he entered into this stalemate.

“This terrain is to their advantage and my disadvantage. I would be a fool to fight them here any longer.” Faced with the true reality of his dire situation, Roy ran into the forest like a coward!
