Chapter 137 Global Limited Edition!
Chapter 137 Global Limited Edition!
Hu Guangqiang, Guo Liangtian, and the others finally regained their senses, and the three exchanged glances in silence.
Guo Liangtian, still in shock, spoke up, "Liu Yong, did you ask Wei Chunyan to arrange for someone to deliver food to us just now?"
Guo Liangtian was convinced that Wei Chunyan had something to do with the unexpected delivery, given her position as a supervisor in the hotel's room department.
Liu Yong merely smiled in response to Guo Liangtian's inquiry, thinking that Guo Liangtian's IQ seemed to have taken a hit since their college days.
As the conversation continued, Zhang Xiaomei said excitedly, "Liu Yong, can I see the watch you're wearing?"
Wei Chunyan sat between Zhang Xiaomei and Liu Yong and had never paid much attention to Liu Yong's wrist before.
However, upon learning that Liu Yong was staying in the presidential suite, she began to take notice of him. Not long before, she noticed the watch on Liu Yong's wrist.
Liu Yong smiled and asked, "What's so special about a watch?"
Guo Liangtian chimed in, "Exactly, it's just a watch. Even Brother Hu has a watch that cost more than 8,000 yuan."
Hu Guangqiang had purchased his watch to impress others, and although it had cost him more than 8,000 yuan, he felt the price was well worth it.
He always made sure to flaunt it during their class reunions.
However, at this particular moment, he sensed that Liu Yong's watch might be more valuable than his own, so he quietly pulled down his sleeve and hid his watch from sight.
Zhang Xiaomei persisted, "Liu Yong, please show me the watch. You don't know this, but I used to work at a famous watch counter and also spent a few months working in the jewelry section. I specialize in selling jadeite."
Wei Chunyan added, "Liu Yong, just show her the watch. You won't regret it. She knows what she's talking about when it comes to watches and jewelry."
Feeling pressured by Wei Chunyan's persuasion, Liu Yong acquiesced and removed his watch, handing it over to Zhang Xiaomei with a nonchalant expression.
"It's just a watch. There's nothing special about it."
Upon seeing the watch, Zhang Xiaomei was astonished and held it with an expression of disbelief on her face. "Oh my god, this is a global limited edition! I can't believe I'm actually holding a global limited edition watch in my hands!"
Hu Guangqiang had remained silent throughout this exchange, but he couldn't help but ask, "Zhang Xiaomei, how much is this watch worth?"
Zhang Xiaomei replied with certainty, "At least 8 million or more."
The group was shocked by the revelation, and Huang Guang couldn't sit still, terrified at the thought of wearing such an expensive item.
Hu Guangqiang silently took off his watch and put it in his pocket. At the same time, Guo Liangtian was left completely speechless, unable to comprehend the fact that there existed watches worth 8 million yuan.
Zhang Xiaomei carefully handed the watch back to Liu Yong with a cautious look utterly different from the one she had when she first received it.
As she did so, she noticed that Liu Yong was wearing a jade plaque around his neck, which caught her attention immediately. Knowing something about jadeite from her several months of work at the jadeite counter, Zhang Xiaomei realized that the jade plaque as standard.
"Liu Yong, what you are wearing is an emerald jade plaque, please show me, how about it?" she asked curiously.
To her surprise, Liu Yong did not hesitate to take down the jade plaque and handed it to her.
Zhang Xiaomei was taken aback by what she saw- the jade plaque was made of imperial green glass, a type of jadeite she had never seen before.
However, she remembered the master's words that such jadeite was extremely rare, and each piece was a precious treasure worth hundreds of millions.
Her hands trembled slightly as she took two deep breaths to calm herself. Wei Chunli, who was very wise, seemed to sense Zhang Xiaomei's mood and asked, "Xiaomei, what's the matter, is this jade medal more expensive than the watch just now?"
To which Zhang Xiaomei replied, "It's not only more expensive than that watch, it's simply too expensive."
Even an 8 million yuan watch had left everyone in awe, but this jade plaque was on another level.
"This jade tablet is unusual. It's made of imperial green glass. The carver should also come from a famous master. It must be worth more than 100 million," she explained to her companions.
Hu Guangqiang, Huang Guang, and Wei Chunli were stunned by the revelation, almost falling off their seats.
Huang Guang incredulously asked, "Brother Yong, is this jade card worth hundreds of millions?"
With a hint of amusement, Liu Yong glanced at them and replied, "Yes, I found a professional organization to evaluate it, and its value should be around 150 million."
150 million yuan! The figure was mind-boggling, and the three friends were left flabbergasted.
Liu Yong, on the other hand, seemed calm about the whole thing, casually putting the 150 million jade plaque back around his neck.
He then suggested they move to a private room and treat his friends to a meal. "I don't want to have dinner with those three idiots for a long time, let's go, let's change places," he said, brushing off his companions' shocked expressions.
Once in the private room, Liu Yong ordered several signature dishes and a bottle of red wine worth over 10,000 yuan.
His generosity was apparent, and his friends were amazed by the generosity of the meal.
Despite growing up in a well-to-do family, Huang Guang admitted that he had never eaten such luxurious food.
The following day, Liu Yong awoke from a deep sleep, feeling refreshed and comfortable. He glanced at his wristwatch, realizing it was time to begin the day's work. With purpose, he exclaimed, "Time to get up and get to work!"
Liu Yong's plan for the day was straightforward: he intended to personally retrieve the contents of the sunken ship, pack them carefully in bubble wrap, place them in plastic baskets, and then have Bawang transport them back to the warehouse near the sea.
After finishing his morning ablutions, Liu Yong placed a phone call, and soon after, a staff member wheeled in a trolley laden with a sumptuous breakfast spread. Much to his surprise, Wei Chunyan also appeared on the scene.
"Why are you here?" he asked.
Wei Chunyan smiled, "Old classmate, I am the supervisor of the guest room department. I have to ensure that our guests staying in the presidential suite are properly cared for."
Liu Yong found her explanation plausible, but he was hungry and eager to eat. So, he decided to enjoy breakfast and attend to his work once fully satiated.
As he savored his meal, one dish after another was served, and Wei Chunyan attentively catered to his every need.
"Old classmate, do you need anything else? Just tell me what you want to eat," she inquired.
"It's already more than enough. I won't be able to finish all of these," Liu Yong replied, still chewing.
Despite his protestations, Wei Chunyan lingered, suggesting they explore the hotel together after breakfast.
Liu Yong was caught off guard by her invitation and how she looked at him. He realized she was expressing romantic interest, which he had not noticed during their college days.
However, Liu Yong politely declined her offer, "I have something to do later, thank you for your kind offer."
Wei Chunyan appeared slightly dejected but added, "Okay, then you can go to work. If you need anything, you can contact me at any time."
After breakfast, Liu Yong gathered and set out with only a small bag containing his diving flashlight, goggles, and other necessary equipment.
