Chapter 1998

Diane lit up with joy when she spotted Severin. There was a twinkle in her eye as she spoke in a magnetic voice, “Thank you, honey. It was all because of you that we were able to make a breakthrough together.”

Diane remained aware of everything that was happening outside despite being in seclusion. She knew

that Severin’s intervention had helped in ensuring that the supply of spiritual energy within the island

remained constant. Higher attainment levels demanded more spiritual energy from heaven and earth,

which would make it difficult for them to secure a breakthrough if that flow was interrupted. As level four

supreme saints, they were considered to fall within the top ranks of elite disciples.

After Diane thanked him on behalf of the girls, Severin stepped forward and pinched her cheeks slightly.

That’s my duty as everyone’s husband.‘

Diane rolled her eyes and pursed her lips. “You’re such a sweet talker.”

As they spoke, Gilda exited her seclusion and joined them. Gilda, who was wearing a blue dress and did

her hair up in a jade hairpin, patted her chest and said to Severin, “That was a close call earlier. I was on

the verge of failing my breakthrough before you replenished the spiritual energy.”

Sheila and Sofia, wearing a purple dress and beige robe respectively, came out after them and

approached Severin elegantly. Their attire resembled lotuses emerging from the recesses of a lake.

Sheila smiled sweetly and said, “Yeah!! agree with Gilda! If our hubby hadn’t given us the Crystal Spring

Pill and Pristine Spirit Pill, we’d have taken months and months to get a breakthrough!”

There seemed to be no end to the girls‘ conversation, so Severin intervened. “Thanks for the praise, but

I’m just glad you all made a breakthrough.”

Severin was aware that his wives wel

lucky to have a Spirit Constitution. With his alchemical skills, it

was not difficult for them to help them make a breakthrough in the not–too–distant future. While those breakthroughs were a cause for celebration, a celebratory feast was not brought up because Wuhlricht

and the group were still in seclusion.

Even so, Diane prepared a simple lunch using ingredients found on the island. Everyone’s advanced level of attainment meant that mortal food was no longer required, but that did not stop them from feeling nostalgic about wanting to once again enjoy the kind of food they used to have back at the Skyblue Sect.

The food that Diane made fulfilled that need, if only to satiate their cravings.

After lunch, Severin leaned back in a chair and enjoyed the leisurely moment. All of a sudden, a crisp announcement echoed through Pearl Light Isle. “I, Emery Green, am here to fulfill my end of the bet!”

Severin stood up in surprise after hearing the announcement. “Emery?”

It had been several months since their challenge, and Severin had almost forgotten about the bet. He

assumed that Emery might try to keep whatever remained of her dignity and refrain from bringing it up

again, lest she incur the wrath of Daniella, her mentor and the Sixth Mountain’s peak master.

Severin thus chose to ignore the bet that he made, and Emery’s unexpected arrival naturally caught Severin by surprise.
