Chapter 2010

The Greenwood Pill was a sixth–grade high–rank pill known to be one of the best healing pills among all sixth–grade healing pills. Severin had previously crafted it after receiving the knowledge from the Alchemy Tower and prepared it just in case it was needed in the future.

The Greenwood Pill contained an abundance of life’s essence, and even those who were on the verge of

death could be saved from death’s door. After giving the Greenwood Pill to Selene, Severin still felt

worried and decided to hand his defensive spiritual treasure–the Darkgold Bell–and handed it to his

precious daughter. “Take my Darkgold Bell. It’ll protect you.”

The Darkgold Bell was a spiritual treasure that had qualities of both attack and defense. The energy

inside of it formed the vitality of heaven and earth, and ordinary attacks were useless in breaking through

1. it. Although the Thunderbolt Tribulation in front of him was turbulent, Severin was confident that Selene

could safely survive it.

Severin’s confidence stemmed from his knowledge that there was only one bout of tribulation. Ordinary

practitioners will almost never invoke such tribulation before breaking through to the royal paragon, and

even then, there would usually only be three Thunderbolt Tribulations. By contrast, supreme paragons

would have six bouts of Thunderbolt Tribulations. Finally, celestials would have nine bouts.

Selene’s Thunderbolt Tribulation was the weakest among these, as she had only invoked the power of

heaven and earth due to her talent and not because she was a royal paragon who went against the

natural order like royal paragons.

As a result, he was rather sure that Selene’s safety would not be compromised by the thunderbolts because she would only have to go through a single bout.

“Thanks, Dad,” Selene nodded and took the Darkgold Bell with her hand. The thunderbolts then began to rumble violently in the sky, as if the heaven and earth were roaring at her.

As expected, a huge ‘click‘ echoed and a bolt of lightning originated thousands of miles away before heading right toward Selene. The shock wave from the strike whipped up a wind that swept across Pearl Light Isle. Spiritual energy began to dissipate bit by bit.

Severin and others immediately cast their spiritual protective shields to prevent themselves from being blown away by the strong wind. When the lightning finally dissipated, the mirage of a millstone–sized bell appeared above Selene’s head, complete with the complex principles of heaven and earth engraved on it. A divine light shone, and a black and yellow aura appeared from thin air to defend Selene from the

thunderbolts coming toward her from the sky.

Diane could finally breathe a sigh of relief when she saw that. Selene did not suffer any damage after rushed toward Selene and asked earnestly, “Are you okay, Selene?”

Selene survived the Thunderbolt Tribulation thanks to the Darkgold Bell, but her spiritual energy had

weakened somewhat. “Don’t worry, Mom. I’m fine! Dad’s bell helped me a lot!”
